Abstract

Glass is kind of material often used in building planning including in the interior part. Glass, with several characteristics and special qualities, is able to give beauty and comfortable atmosphere in a room. This recearch aims at the application the material of glass in the common building interior which characterize Javanese traditional house, viewed from the meaning of ornamentation and its function. Recearch locates in Surakarta possessed of many common building with architecture characterizing Javanese tradisional house. The research is descriptive qualitative analytic bu applying design approach in this matter related to the function and fine arts language (semiotic fine arts language) to analyze its ornamentation side. The sources of data are books and artifact. Technicque of collecting data is conducted by book study, observation, and dokumentation. Analyzing technique uses interactive analytic miodel and drawing conclusion or its verification, the activity is conducted interactively by using data collection process as taken purposively by using creteria wich is glass element applied having ornamentation form, meaning and fungtion. Sample chosen are Pendapi Gede Balaikota (City Hall) which is part of complex of local government office of Surakarta and Sasana Handrawina Kasunanan Palace of  Surakarta as a tourism attraction wich is able to be visited and utilized  by public. The ornament applied in Pendapi Gede Balaikota (City Hall) of Surakarta is a symbol of the local government of Surakarta, while the ornament used in Sasana Handrawina is a symbol called Radya Laksana. Inside the symbol used as ornaments of both buildings, there are various raut or shape having meaning related to cosmos, food dan clothing, hassle, and culture. For example is the shape of   of the sun having meaning that a person having cultural spirit must be able to engraft power and must be able to shine a light of life without expecting for the return. The function of ornaments in the shape of the symbols is not addressed for sacred importance but to fullfill the profane needs wich ae beauty or aesthetic value and used an identity. Abstract

Not only does the discipline of interior design cover static interior such as houses and buildings,  but also dynamic interior like the interior of land, sea and air transportation. The interior design in  these two scopes must consider the comfort factor for the user besides the aesthetic aspect and  function. A city bus as a means of public transportation should take the comfort for the user into consideration as a public service. The interior condition of the city bus can indicate the comfort  and this can be seen from the condition of a space forming element, a space filler element, and  space layout. The object of this study is the interior of city buses in the direction of Kartasura-  Palur in Surakarta. The approach used is numerical quantitative, that is, a data analysis based on a quality realized in the form of numbers in atable to measure the level of comfort. The variables  measured cover: (1) the element of space forming (sub variable: floors, walls, and ceilings), (2) the element of space filler (sub variable: seats and supporting facilities) and (3) space condition  (sub variable: lighting, ventilation and acoustic). The population of this research is the entire fleet of a number of transportation company operating in Surakarta. The sample is taken using cluster random sampling, that is, covering all the companies of city bus in Surakarta consisting of PO Surya Kencana, PO Nusa, an Perum Damri. A check list is used to analyze the comfort level of the city bus in Surakarta. The result of the research showed that the comfort level of the city bus in Surakarta was still low assessed from the aspect of interior design. The space forming element has some shortcomings, among others, the material usage is not optimal and its condition is not  well maintained and even some have broken. The space forming element has also some shortcomings, for instance, 'the number of the seats does not meet the standard and some have broken. Besides that, the arrangement of other facilities is not well planned. The arrangement of space condition is not supported by proper ventilation, lighting and acoustic.                             Key words: comfort, city bus, and interior elements

Abstract

Interior Design Development Based Ergonomics to Radyapustaka Museum (Comfort and Security) as the Cultural Center, Information and Tourism Destination Surakarta done through the stages of research. The goal is to analyze and realize the convenient  Interior of  Radyapustaka Museum or visitors and managers, it also meets the security requirements for the collection of objects that are in it. The result will be the basis and provide direction for the development of interior design mentioned above.The first phase aims to identify interior Radyapustaka Museum. Experimental design will be implemented on campus involving a team of ISI Surakarta with faculty and students of Interior Design and other related parties. To explore the data in the form of artifacts, literature, and the informant conducted through observation, study of literature, interviews, and documentation. Experimental design is done by design approach and strengthened by evocative approach, educational, psychological and socio-cultural. Triangulation of data is selected as a tool to maintain the validity of the data, while the model is interactive analysis. Analysis conducted for the formulation of interior design Radyapustaka Museum. The second stage conducting the trial design through design embodies (experimental product) and its application (implementation design), evaluation, refinement and design concept formulation of recommendations.Results of the study indicate the stages there are some drawbacks of the current interior design museum collections including the arrangement of objects is generally not considered the aspect of convenience for visitors for example related to the circulation and visibility levels. Space organizations associated with building less  for use as a museum. Vitrin that some of them do not have the function as it should. Most of the collection for groups not utilizing posters, illustrations, image or description (caption) well as visual communication medium to describe a collection of museum objects. Abstract

Tulisan ini bersumber dari hasil penelitian Pengembangan Desain Interior MuseumRadyapustaka Berbasis Ergonomi (Kenyamanan dan Keamanan) sebagai Pusat Budaya,Informasi dan Tujuan Wisata Kota Surakarta tahap ke-2. Telah dilaporkan sebelumnya tahappertama dalam penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi interior Museum Radyapustaka. Untukmenggali data yang berupa artefak, literatur, dan informan dilakukan melalui observasi,studi literatur, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sudah dilakukan Identifikasi desain interiormuseum Radyapustaka, meliputi aspek organisasi ruang, pola sirkulasi, elemen pembentukruang, elemen pengisi ruang termasuk di dalamnya sistem display dan benda-benda koleksimuseum, tata kondisi ruang ,faktor keamanan, dan aspek estetis yang membentuk atmosphirruang. Triangulasi data dipilih sebagai alat untuk menjaga tingkat validitas data, sedangkanmodel analisisnya bersifat interaktif . Eksperimen desain dilaksanakan di kampus ISISurakarta dengan melibatkan tim dosen dan mahasiswa Program Studi Desain Interior danpihak lain yang terkait.Pada tahap ke-2 dilakukan kegiatan uji-coba desain melalui kegiatanmewujudkan desain (vitrin sebagai produk eksperimen) dan penerapannya (implementasidesain), evaluasi, dan penyempurnaan konsep desain. Model analisis SWOT dipakai ketikaakan melakukan perumusan desain vitrin Museum Radyapustaka. Vitrin merupakan bagianpenting di dalam museum karena sebagai tempat untuk memajang benda koleksi. Dengandesain vitrin yang baik akan mampu memberikan keamanan terhadap benda koleksi sertamemberikan kenyamanan pengunjung di dalam mengamatinya.Key words: Museum Radyapustaka, vitrin, kenyamanan, keamananwe find in works of art do not consist of concepts but sense impressions.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan mitra dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas produk, serta meningkatkan daya saing pengrajin sangkar burung dalam menghadapi tantangan pasar. Peningkatan daya saing yang dimaksud meliputi; desain, implementasi teknologi tepat guna, manajemen, pembuatan media publikasi. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah Barokah Sangkar yang berlokasi di Mojosongo, Jebres, Surakarta.Prospek produk kerajinan sangkar burung ini sebenarnya bagus seiring dengan trend masyarakat yang gemar memelihara burung hias dan burung kicau. Pengrajin fokus pada pengolahan sangkar bambu, sedangkan bahan baku bambu dipasok dari daerah Solo dan sekitarnya. Kemampuan sumber daya manusia, jaringan bisnis, serta peralatan yang terbatas serta ketergantungan proses produksi terhadap cuaca menyebabkan mitra kurang dapat memanfaatkan peluang untuk mengembangkan bisnis ini secara maksimal. Setelah pendampingan diharapkan mitra dapat meningkatkan kuantitas produksi, kualitas desain, guna meningkatkan nilai jual produk sehingga mampu meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga.Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam kurun waktu kurang lebih satu tahun. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa; pelatihan manajemen, penggunaan alat produksi dengan teknologi tepat guna, pembuatan media publikasi dan pengembangan desain ornamen sangkar burung yang diminati pasar. Setelah mendapatkan sentuhan desain ornamen sangkar burung yang lebih baik, manajemen, alat bantu produksi, media promosi yang menarik diharapkan dapat meningkatkan omset usaha.  Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan mitra dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas produk, serta meningkatkan daya saing pengrajin sangkar burung dalam menghadapi tantangan pasar.
