Abstract

Abstact Textbooks have an important role in the learning process. In addition as a reference material, also have the potential to affect student learning. In this study, carried out a survey of mathematics education students. Students were asked to describe how they used textbooks. The survey was conducted by giving questionnaires and interviews about what components are used, when students look at each component, the reason for these components as well as the students see what difficulties encountered when used textbook. Data collected was processed using descriptive statistics as well as to determine there are differences in the use of good text books for each component or components in pairs using Cochran’s Q test and McNemar Test. The result show that students tend to use the sample chapter to build their understanding of math concept than the chapter text description. Difficulties experienced when students understand basic concepts such as definitions and theorems which causes difficulty in working on.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' self-regulated learning level and students' mathematical connection ability for each self-regulated learning level. The topic used is quadrilateral. This is qualitative research with descriptive method. Study took place at Desa Ancaran Kec./ Kab. Kuningan, West Java, with subjects consisting of six seventh grade SMP/MTs students. Data is collected using questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. Questionnaire and mathematical connection ability tests were given to all six subjects. After collecting data, analysis is performed with steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result shows that out of six subjects, 1 student is classified high in self-regulated learning category and 5 other students are classified average in self-regulated learning category. Out of three selected subjects, 1 student with high level of self-regulated learning has connection ability in good category, while 2 students with average level of self-regulated learning have mathematical connections in sufficient category. Student with high level of self-regulated learning can fulfill three of the five indicators of mathematical connection ability, 1 student with average self-regulated learning can fulfill two indicators, and 1 student with other self-regulated learning can fulfill one indicator of mathematical connection. Keywords: Mathematical Connection Ability, Self-Regulated Learning, Quadrilateral

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum has been implemented in most schools in Indonesia, from PAUD to SMA. One form of assessment in this curriculum is the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK), which includes various types of assessments, including the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), learning environment surveys, and character surveys. In AKM, students are expected to master literacy and numeracy skills through questions with relatively long texts, which often make it difficult for many students to understand and solve the questions satisfactorily. As a solution, it is important for schools to intensively introduce the types of AKM questions to students and get them used to, both independently and in groups, solving numeracy literacy-based questions using interactive e-books. This community service program was carried out for one day at SDN Paninggaran Darma, Kuningan Regency, and focused on introducing AKM questions based on numeracy literacy. During the activity, grade 5 students showed that they were not familiar with the questions, so they still faced difficulties in solving the problems. The evaluation was conducted by asking students to complete 5 AKM questions based on numeracy literacy directly in class. The conclusion is that students already have an understanding of various types of Minimum Competency Assessment questions based on numeracy literacy and show an increase in their ability to solve questions in the moderate category. To improve students' numeracy literacy skills, routine efforts need to be made to introduce these questions during the daily learning process, so that they can better apply these skills in their daily lives. Suggestion: Students already understand various types of Minimum Competency Assessment questions that focus on numeracy literacy and show an increase in their ability to solve questions with a moderate level of difficulty. In order for students' numeracy literacy skills to continue to develop and be applied in their daily lives, it is important to continue
