Abstract

Cupping therapy is a complementary treatment option that can be administered to individuals suffering from Low Back Pain (LBP), a condition that continues to see a rise in its prevalence year after year. LBP is frequently experienced by office professionals who spend extended periods working in a seated position, which can lead to reduced productivity and a decline in overall health. The objective of this research was to assess the impact of cupping therapy on LBP among lecturers at Mandala Waluya University. This research entails a quantitative approach, employing a quasi-experimental one-group pre and post-test design. The research population comprises all lecturers at Mandala Waluya University, totaling 166 individuals, with a sample size of 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques, as determined by the Lameshow formula. The study's findings indicate that 80.8% of the total sample of Mandala Waluya University lecturers between the ages of 30-40 years suffer from LBP. Through paired t-test analysis, it was established that the phi value was 0.000, which is smaller than the alpha value. Consequently, cupping therapy has the capacity to alleviate pain in LBP patients by promoting muscle relaxation and stimulating the release of beta hormones, which, in turn, reduces pain. Cupping therapy demonstrates its effectiveness in alleviating LBP and enhancing the daily functioning of lecturers at Mandala Waluya University.

Abstract

This study addresses the low communication skills and creativity among third-grade students at MI NU Mafatihul Ulum Sunggingan Kudus, attributed to conventional teacher-centered learning methods. To enhance student engagement, this research implements the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in Civic Education (PPKn), focusing on unity in ethnic diversity. Employing a convergent mixed-method design, the study combines qualitative data (observations, interviews) with quantitative pre/post-test questionnaires analyzed via t-test. Conducted as a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR), each cycle comprised planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Participants included 29 students (15 female, 14 male). Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and evaluations of discussions and worksheets, then analyzed via data reduction, triangulation, and Paired-T Test. Results demonstrated moderate improvements: communication scores rose from 81.07 (Cycle I) to 81.97 (Cycle II), while creativity increased from 86.31 to 91.17. The Paired-T Test confirmed statistical significance (p < 0.05), indicating PjBL’s effectiveness in fostering 21st-century skills. These findings underscore PjBL’s potential as a student-centered approach to elevate communication and creativity in Civic Education.

Abstract

This research is to examine the urgency of the local wisdom value of maja labo dahu in the formation of children's religious character in Rada village, Bima regency. Maja labo dahu, which means "shame and fear (of god)", is a philosophy of life of the Bima people that emphasizes the importance of shame to do wrong and fear of God as a moral foundation. This value is believed to be able to become a social control and shape the character of children who are honest, discilplind, responsible, and avoid reprehensible actions. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and coclusion drawing. The results showed that the integration of maja labo dahu values in the family environment plays an important role in instilling children's religious character. This value not only strengthens children's cultural and religious identity, but also becomes an effective moral fortress in facing the challenges of the digital era and the negative influence of social media. Thus, internalizing the value of maja labo dahu is urgent to strengthen the religious character of the younger amid rapid social change.

Abstract

Teacher mental health is an essential aspect of education, particularly at the Elementary School/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (SD/MI) level. An unsupportive work environment and ineffective stress management can reduce teacher performance and negatively impact the quality of learning. This study employed a quantitative approach with proportionalrandom sampling to select 120 MI/SD teachers in Kudus Regency as the sample. The research instruments consisted of a work environment scale, a stress management scale, and a mental health scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings revealed that the quality of the work environment and stress management significantly influence teachers’ mental health, both simultaneously and partially (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.616 indicates that these two independent variables contribute 61.6% to the variation in teachers’ mental health. These results confirm that a supportive work environment and effective stress management skills are key factors in maintaining teachers’ mental well-being. This aligns with occupational well-being theories that highlight the importance of psychosocial factors in supporting teacher performance. Schools, madrasahs, and policymakers are advised to optimize workplace facilities, create a conducive work climate, and provide regular stress management training. Such efforts can enhance teachers’ mental well-being, thereby supporting the delivery of high-quality and sustainable learning.
