Abstract

Background : SBAR communication is a tool recommended by WHO, SBAR communication not only improves service quality, but can also improve handover quality and reduce medical error rates. If communication in patient handovers is not carried out, it can lead to several problems and consequences including higher costs of care, larger service providers and patient dissatisfaction. Errors in patient identification occur in almost all aspects or stages of diagnosis and treatment, so there is a need for accurate patient identification. Too much workload for nurses can reduce productivity. Unsafe behavior of nurses, forgetfulness, lack of attention, carelessness, carelessness and neglect of patient safety are at risk for errors and will result in injury to patients. Objective:  Analyzed the relationship between SBAR communication, Discipline and Nurse workload on Patient Safety-Based Patient Identification. Methods:  This research method is quantitative correlation with cross sectional design. The sample is 40 nurses. Probability sampling. Data were analyzed using Spearman rank statistical test. Results: SBAR communication on patient identification obtained a fairly good score of 42.5%. Discipline on patient identification also obtained a fairly good score of 52.5%, and Workload on patient identification obtained a high score of 77.5, based on the results of statistical tests, there was no significant relationship between SBAR Communication, Discipline and Workload on identification. patients at H. Boejasin Pelaihari Hospital with r values = 0.772, 0.427 and 0.079 0.05.Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between SBAR communication, discipline and workload on patient identification. Key Words: Communication, SBAR, Patient, Safety.

Abstract

Prolonged work stress can disrupt mental health and reduce employee performance, especially nurses who face emotional and physical stress simultaneously. Mindfulness-Based Intervention (MBI) emphasizes full awareness of current experiences as an emotion regulation strategy. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in reducing work stress levels in nurses. The method of this study was a quasi-experimental study with a one-group pre-post test with 60 nurse respondents selected through purposive sampling. The intervention group was given four weeks of MBI training with mindful breathing, body scan, and self-reflection training sessions, while the control group was not given any intervention. Stress levels were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test used for analysis. The results showed a significant increase in all aspects of QoL in the intervention group. The average total QoL score increased (p= 0.001) including in satisfaction with therapy (p= 0.001), impact on life (p= 0.002), fear of complications (p= 0.000), and social problems (p= 0.001). No significant changes were found in the control group.

Abstract

Abstract

Asthma is becoming a serious global health problem and needs to be addressed. Many asthmatics from various countries experience asthma disorders, so if it is not controlled, it can increase the morbidity rate. One way to assess the occurrence of asthma is to conduct an Expiratory Peak Current (APE) assessment. Do Buteyko breath exercises and Blowing Balloons to overcome and alleviate asthma symptoms. This study aimed to compare Buteyko's breath exercises with Blowing Balloons exercises against changes in peak expiratory currents in asthma patients. The research design used was quasi-experimental with pretest and post-test methods in two groups. The study sample of 20 respondents consisted of 2 groups, namely 10 respondents of the Buteyko breath exercise group and 10 respondents of the Blowing Balloons exercise group, with a simple random sampling technique. After Buteyko breath training and Blowing Balloons exercises were carried out 2 times a day for two weeks, the Wilcoxon sign rank test results for Buteyko breath training and Blowing Balloons exercises with a value of p = 0.00 were obtained. The results of the Mann withney test showed no difference in the mean rank of the asthma control test (ACT) score in Buteyko's breath exercise and Blowing Balloons exercise p = 0.21. The results of measuring the expiratory peak current (APE) showed a significant difference with the p-value = 0.00 in Buteyko breath exercises and Blowing Balloons exercises. Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that Buteyko's breath exercises and Blowing Balloons exercise positively impact the management of asthma symptoms. The results of this study can be an input for nursing services to be used as a guideline for developing Buteyko's breath exercises by blowing balloons against peak expiratory currents in asthma patients integrated into the provision of nursing care.
