Abstract

Culture of continuous improvement are favorite things that implemented in many business. This is also as concern in PT.ABC to apply continuous improvement in their operations. They use PDCA (Plan, DO, Check, Action) methodologies to solve the problem. One of PDCA case study that to be a topic for this research are  problem solving in handover process.Lead time for handover process are 20 hours, it will be bring another negative effect. So, problem solving by using PDCA methodologies are conducted. Plan phase are problem Identification, identify cause, and developing solution by using some tools :swim lane flowchart, cause effect diagram, mind mapping effort and benefit matrix. Do phase are execute the action plan, then Check phase are verify the result. The last phase are Action, it is a standardization and next improvement topic .Outcome of PDCA implementing in handover process are reducing lead time in handover process, from 1.161 minutes to 265 minutes, or lead time decreasing by 77%. Other positive effect of PDCA implementing are facilitate the operator to operate the documents, utilize the space that caused by inventory reducing in staging area.Key words :  PDCA, Swim lane, Cause and effect diagram, Mind mapping, Effort & benefit diagram.

Abstract

One of the work activities usually carried out to maintain and repair public facilities in residential communities is the welding process. Of course, correct knowledge is needed regarding a good welding process in order to produce quality welding results so that the object being repaired can last a long time. In the welding process there are several potential dangers which have risks both for the welding worker himself in terms of health and risks for the environment in the form of fire. Education to the public regarding the welding process so that it produces quality results in general includes: ensuring the work area is clean and safe, then the tools and materials used are according to specifications and correct welding techniques are very helpful to the public. Apart from that, recognition of the potential dangers and risks that may arise from the welding process can increase awareness in the community of the importance of implementing occupational health and safety principles.

Abstract

A clean, neatly arranged and beautiful environment is something that people really desire. Because it will brings various positive impacts including: increasing the sense of comfort for the community, avoiding potential diseases and contributing to a green environment which brings many benefits. The 5S program is a program that is commonly implemented by many companies. 5S is an extension of (seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, shitsuke) or usually translated as 5R (concise, neat, clean, diligent care). 5S is very suitable to be implemented in society where it is hoped that it will have an impact on creating a green environment. 5S education and workshops are carried out by providing directions along with examples. This application consists of sorting community equipment that is needed and not needed. Seiton explained that all community equipment has its proper place. Seiso by carrying out environmental cleaning is equipped with seiketsu which is routine scheduling, as well as shitsuke whose application is routine checking of the environment together to produce further improvements to the environment
