Abstract

This paper aims to test the hypothesis in a period of monetary tightening. Firms that face liquidity constraint and have limited access from external sources of funds will lower its investment. We use the panel data analysis of Indonesian manufacturing firms and financial variables, LIQ as the ratio between the sum of cash and marketable securities to total assets, and the change in cash flows as a proxy of firm’s liquidity constraint. The result provides some supports for the view that inventory in Indonesian manufacturing firms is sensitive toward cash flow during the monetary tightening period, especially for the firms that produce durable goods. Keywords: Monetary tightening, liquidity constraint, inventory investmentJEL classification numbers: G32, G38.

Abstract

Non-cash payments have been increasing significantly, followed by its substitution andefficiency effects. Cash payment is substituted, inducing a decrease of cash holding by economicagents, while on the other hand more money enters the banking system. The increase of non-cashpayments also cuts transaction costs, and the economy runs more efficiently. Using Vector ErrorCorrection Model (VECM), its impacts on the economy are investigated. The result shows thatcash holdings decrease, while money stock M1 and M2 increase. The increase of non-cashpayments also induces GDP growth and slight price decrease. Keywords: non-cash, payment system, money demand, JEL: E42, E52

Abstract

One of the work activities usually carried out to maintain and repair public facilities in residential communities is the welding process. Of course, correct knowledge is needed regarding a good welding process in order to produce quality welding results so that the object being repaired can last a long time. In the welding process there are several potential dangers which have risks both for the welding worker himself in terms of health and risks for the environment in the form of fire. Education to the public regarding the welding process so that it produces quality results in general includes: ensuring the work area is clean and safe, then the tools and materials used are according to specifications and correct welding techniques are very helpful to the public.
