Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the form of violations of the principle of cooperation of conversation in the event of Mata Najwa on Metro TV. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data source in this research is Najwa Shihab speech and its speaker in Mata Najwa on Metro TV. The data in this study were three episodes of Mata Najwa  events in June, August, and December namely: the episode of "Luhut Controversy" which aired on June 1, 2016, "Miscellaneous Lawyers" which aired on August 31, 2016, and the episode "Moves Demi Hak "which aired on December 21, 2016. Data collection techniques use the documentation method. Data analysis technique in this research is done through the steps, that is transcribing data, identifying data (encoding), classifying data in table form, interpreting data, and concluding research result. The results of the study found 130 violations of the principle of conversational cooperation with details, 56 (43%) maxim quantity violations, 10 (7.8%) maxim quality violations, 34 (26.5%) maxim relevance breaches, and 30 (22.6% ) Violation of the way maxim. In this study, it was classified into two forms of violation of the principle of conversational cooperation, namely the single maxim and multiple maxim violations, with details of 75 utterances with single maximal offenses and 26 speeches with double maxim breaches. Factors behind the breach of the principle of conversational cooperation in Mata  Najwa on Metro TV, namely: maximizing wisdom, maxima agreement, maxim of simplicity, maxim of generosity, maxim of appreciation, maxim of conclusion, the concept of negative face and face rescue.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the first variantions of language seen in terms of speakers of idiolek, regional origin, gender, and age. The second describes the function of the language used by fish trades in Panorama Bengkulu market. The research uses qualitative descriptive method, with data collection technique, and field note technique. Data analysis techniques in this study include data transcription, data classification, data code, data interpretation, and concluding. The results of this study indicate that the first language of fish traders in Panorama Bengkulu market seen in terms of speakers there idiolek speakers who use the choice of the word “yang” and “mother” as a greeting to buyers who show the characteristic of a speaker, and sosiolek speakers that are the origin of the region that influences the occurrence of variantion language speakers who use Bengkulu Malay, Serawai language in Seluma area, and Serawai language in Bengkulu Selatan area, Lintang language in Empat Lawang area, and the language of Jawa, and the choice of words sentesces, and greetings used speakers show the gender le the male merchant’s expression tends to be brief but clear, in his speech is not a lot of preamble like fish traders who are sex women using speech tend to longand a lot of pleasantries to influence buyers. In terms of age there are traders who are aged 30 and 40 years who use the word necessary and directly to the goal of his conversation sech as “fish mbak” and “thirty five thousand only, want?”. The second there is the language function of the composer which consists of personal functions, interactional functions, instrumental functions, and heuristic functions. In communicating with buyers when buying and selling fish in the Panorama Bengkulu market.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the variation of spoken language in the column Mela Bengkulu People's newspaper commentary and language variations in the column Mela Bengkulu People's newspaper comments in terms of formality. This research uses descriptive research design and  using documentation technique as data collection tool. For data analysis, the following steps are used: (1) read carefully, (2) code every data obtained, (3) tabulate data used to describe language usage, (4) analyze data of spoken language in terms of level (5) classify the results of data analysis, (6) synthesize the results of classification, (7) conclude. From the result of the research, it is found that the variation of language in Mela Comments column used standard oral language and non standard oral language. Language variations seen in terms of formality are used diverse casual and familiar variety. The marker of standard oral spoken language is seen in the use of Indonesian vocabulary and diction and no regional language elements. Markers of oral spoken language use are not seen in non-standard word usage, regional/foreign language usage, slang usage and presence of expression statements. Markers of casual usage are seen in the use of regional/foreign languages, the use of non-standard words, the use of slang and expressions. The use of familiar varieties is seen in the use of the word hello, the use of regional/foreign languages and typical terms. Conclusion; Language variations in the October 26 to 24 November 2016 edition of Mela Comments column of 26 topics with 265 speeches, can be summarized by 38 speeches using standard oral language and 227 using non-standard spoken language. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the form of mixed code, the type of code transfer, the factors causing code interference, and the factors causing the transfer of code in the conversation in the library scope of University of Bengkulu. The method used in analyzing the data is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection technique in this research is done by documentation technique that is by recording conversation in library scope of University of Bengkulu and interviewing informant. The steps of analysis are done by stages: 1) Transcription data, 2) data identification, 3) data classification, 4) data reduction, 5) data analysis, 6) conclusion, and 7) data validation. The results of the analysis obtained in this research are: (1) the form of mixed code in the conversation in the library scope of Bengkulu University that occurs in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and tangible baster. (2) the type of code transfer in a conversation in the library scope of Bengkulu University that occurs on the type of internal code transfer and the type of external code transfer. As for (3) factors causing code interference due to: 1) language factor, 2) habit factor, 3) no exact expression factor in language being used, and 4) background factor of speaker's attitude. (4) factors that cause the transfer of code because: 1) factor adjusting the code used by the person, 2) third person presence factor, 3) speaker factor, 4) just prestigious factors, 5) the purpose factor to express something, and 6) factor indicates the first language. Keyword: mixed code, code transfer, conversation, library University of Bengkulu

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of compliance and violation of cooperation principle which have been occurred at Class 1 of Bengkulu Immigration Office. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Sources of data in this research were officers and applicants. This research data was a speech event that it told by officers and applicants which contain of  cooperation principle in it. Data collection was conducted start from date March 20th until April 6th, 2017. The instrument used in this research were a human instrument with hardware tools in the form of notebooks and smartphones, and software such as limitation and understanding maxims of conversation/cooperation principle (maxim quantity, maxim quality, maxim relevance, and maxim manner. Data collected by recording technique and note technique. Data analysis were done by steps as follow;  data transcription, data identification, data classification, data interpretation, data validation, and data conclusion. The results of this research showed that two conclusions. First, the forms of compliance with the cooperation principle which have been occurred at center of Class 1 of Bengkulu Immigration Service which consist from four maxims based on Grice maxim and six maxims of mixed results between the maxim of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner were found when conducting research in the field. Second is the forms of violation of cooperation principle at center of Class 1 of Bengkulu Immigration Service which consist from four maxims based on Grice maxim and five maxims mixed found when conducting research in the field. Keywords: Cooperation Principle, Conversation, Maxim

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan wujud bahasa yang tidak santun dilihat dari konteks penggunaannya dan faktor yang menyebabkan penggunaan bahasa yang tidak santun. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini yaitu bahasa yang tidak santun terdapat di SMP N 18 Kota Bengkulu. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah bahasa yang digunakan siswa dan guru dalam proses pembelajaran di SMP N 18 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 20 Februari sampai 20 Maret 2017. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik rekaman. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui langkah-langkah yaitu: (1) pentranskripsian data (2) pengidentifikasian data, (3) pengklasifikasian data, (4) penginterpretasian data, dan (5) penyimpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya tuturan yang tidak santun berdasarkan wujud tuturan sebagai salah satu penentu kesantunan dalam berbahasa yaitu: adanya tuturan yang tidak santun berdasarkan wujud panjang pendeknya suatu tuturan, wujud urutan tuturan, wujud penggunaan kata honorifik, wujud intonasi dan isyarat kinesik, dan ditemukan juga tuturan yang tidak santun berdasarkan wujud pemakaian diksi yang tepat, serta adanya faktor penyebab ketidaksantunan dalam berbahasa yaitu: faktor dorongan rasa emosi penutur, faktor sengaja memojokkan mitra tutur, fakor mengkritik secara langsung dengan kata-kata kasar, faktor kebiasaan siswa, faktor kedudukan di kelas, dan faktor latar belakang sosial penutur. Kesimpulannya adalah pada proses pembelajaran di kelas terdapat tuturan yang tidak santun oleh pemakai bahasa yang secara sengaja maupun tidak sengaja karena ketidaktahuan pemakai bahasa dalam bertutur secara santun dan adanya faktor penyebab ketidaksantunan berbahasa. Kata Kunci: Analisis, ketidaksantunan berbahasa, SMP Negeri 18 Kota Bengkulu.
