Pendalungan is a hybrid culture established because of intensive contact between two dominant culture namely Javanese and Madurese. Those cultures represent their ethnicity. Beside the two, there are another ethnicity like Chinese and Arabs. Multilingual interaction has permeated everyday life of this community especially in the domain of commerce where all ethnic groups gathered. Language accommodation has become an effective strategy for intercultural interaction in this community. The purposes of this study were to describe the form of language selection, to describe the pattern of language accommodation, to describe the causes of language accommodation, and to describe the functions of language accommodation in the commercial domain of intercultural interaction in Pendalungan community. The data were collected by using observation method by applying the technique of taping as the basic technique. Then continued with advanced techniques such as observe-involve-participate, free observe-involve-participate, recording techniques, taking notes, and then complemented by interview results. The data were analyzed by using ethnographic methods and taking some sociolinguistic theories into account, like domain theory, language accommodation theory, and speech function theory. The study has resulted some findings. First, the forms of language selection in the commercial domain of intercultural interaction in Pendalungan community in Probolinggo City are single code, code switching and code mixing. The factors underlying the language selection are age, social status, ethnic identification, speech setting. The language selection has directive, referential, expressive, and phatic functions.

I’jaz al-Qur’an merupakan konsep yang disusun untuk menegaskan sakralitas al-Qur’an. Sepanjang perjalanan sejarah, para sarjana Islam telah melahirkan berbagai teori untuk menjelaskan aspek-aspek i’jaz tersebut. Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang salah satu konsep i’jaz yang paling menarik, yang dirumuskan oleh ‘Aisyah Abdurrahman Bintu al-Syathi’, salah satu pengikut yang paling menonjol dari Amin al-Khuli, pelopor mazhab tafsir sastra. Artikel ini berusaha menjelaskan konsep I’jaz al-Qur’an Bintu al-Syathi’ ditinjau dari aspek-aspek metodologis dan teoritisnya.

Fighting disinformation through anti-hoax training has been successfully carried out all over Indonesia, following the massive anti-hoax campaign. However, the methods of training and teaching fact checking as the basics of the anti-hoax movement to reduce hoaxes and its harmful effects among the public need to be revised. In finding the solution, a new and innovative approach was launched. A web drama series in the form of videos depicting story in popular style was produced and screened in 56 workshops and uploaded in YouTube channel. Analyzing survey based pre-test and post-test questionnaires, toward 603 housewives and 809 young people who represented targets of the Stop Hoax Indonesia (SHI) project in 2019 resulted in some conclusions. For housewives, the web video drama series has added knowledge and motivates them to do fact checking. But for young people, though they show motivations to do fact checking, they weren’t able to discern material regarding the role of journalism as the important element of verifying information. These findings marked the importance of revising training materials using the web video drama to reach maximum effects on various targets. On the other hand, research results have reinforced the need to innovate teaching materials in order to enhance participants' experience in dealing with hoax or disinformation in real life. More videos packed with popular culture style are recommended.

Since 2016, hoax has been massively circulated in Indonesia, due to low literacy rates and poor detection habit of disinformation among the people. Approaching general elections in April 2019, political hoax dominated in the scene. A content analysis toward 997 hoaxes in 2018 has found that half of hoaxes circulated among society was political hoaxes (49.94%), followed by hoaxes on religious themes (11.94%). Political hoaxes mixed with religion, racism, and any other topic has been creating multiplying effect that threaten democracy. The mapping toward hoaxes during 2018 showed how such possibility might appear due to political hoaxes that framed the issue or candidates of presidential election based on fictitious data or made-up stories. Both candidates were subjected to hoax. But deeper investigation revealed that hoaxes targeted Jokowi as the incumbent candidate surpassed the number of hoaxes toward Prabowo as Jokowi’s counterpart. Hoax to Jokowi was associated with Communist Party, and the arrival of ten thousands Chinese migrant work to replace native workers. Hoax toward Prabowo mainly concerned of gay-lesbian movement. Both candidates presidential election also became the target of religion hoax. Hoax to Jokowi concerned with the abolition of Islamic Boarding School, whereas hoax toward Prabowo targeted his manner that deemed inappropriate for religious community. Overall, serious disinformation was detected. This mapping also showed that over time, hoaxes become more sophisticated, complex and dfficult to encounter. Neither accident nor prank, hoax is an effort by design to disturb harmony and stability in the country. Keywords: hoax, political, religion, mapping 2018

Change is one of human beingâ€™s nature, so as of language as a product of interaction between them. In turn, itâ€™s hard for two persons of different space or time to infer same meaning even from one same language. The same case occurs in Islamic religious text (al-Qurâ€™an) which use Arabic language as a media to deliver its message. The changes in language has produced meaning gaps between the text and contemporary audiens (reader). Attempts have been made to build a bridge between those territorial and temporal meaning gaps including utilizing linguistics to figure out the authentic meaning, ranging from general linguistics until interdisciplinary ones, whether as a perspective or a method. But the last has not yet been used vastly in religious text studies. This article attempts to make a brief review about the use of interdisciplinary linguistics, namely anthropolinguistics in those studies and to propose some ideas about how to use them as a perspective and or a method.

Abstract. In the recent years, fandom has gained its own place in the study of cultural changes that occur as a result of digital transformation. On the one hand, psychological features underlining fandom relation have become the motor that drives acceleration of digital skill adaptation. On the other hand, digital transformation also encourages changes in the fandom from old pattern of relationships that are dyadic to triadic. For fandom of international figures, this triadic relationship pattern has resulted in various digital collaboration initiatives at international and local levels. In the context of Indonesia, which is currently promoting a digital culture that is Indonesian-ish in nature, it will be very interesting to see how international fandom localizes its triadic digital collaboration culture. Indonesian Dears with Love is a very interesting case because it clearly states its vision of joining cultural diplomacy. This study seeks to reveal various aspects of digital fandom collaboration using a qualitative virtual ethnographic approach. The data is gathered using various ways ranging from participatory observation, FGD, email correspondence, and autoetnography. The study found that that the culture of digital participation and collaboration in the fandom community plays a major role in motivating members to improve their digital skills. This study also shows that effective digital participation and collaboration in the fandom community can be carried out due to the canon and its values as a social binder, human resources with appropriate capacities and interests, as well as the existence of shared values that guide the process of interaction and communication in the collaboration. Abstrak. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, fandom telah mendapatkan tempat tersendiri dalam studi tentang perubahan budaya yang terjadi sebagai akibat dari transformasi digital. Di satu sisi, fitur psikologis yang menggarisbawahi hubungan fandom telah menjadi motor yang mendorong percepatan adaptasi keterampilan digital. Di sisi lain, transformasi digital juga mendorong perubahan fandom dari pola hubungan lama yang dyadic menjadi triadic. Bagi fandom tokoh internasional, pola hubungan triadik ini telah melahirkan berbagai inisiatif kolaborasi digital di tingkat internasional dan lokal. Dalam konteks Indonesia yang saat ini sedang menggalakkan budaya digital yang bersifat keindonesiaan, akan sangat menarik untuk melihat bagaimana fandom internasional melokalisasi budaya kolaborasi digital triadiknya. Indonesian Dears with Love merupakan kasus yang sangat menarik karena dengan jelas menyatakan visinya untuk bergabung dengan diplomasi budaya. Penelitian ini berusaha mengungkap berbagai aspek kolaborasi fandom digital menggunakan pendekatan etnografi virtual kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan berbagai cara mulai dari observasi partisipatif, FGD, korespondensi email, dan autoetnografi. Studi ini menemukan bahwa budaya partisipasi dan kolaborasi digital dalam komunitas fandom memainkan peran utama dalam memotivasi anggota untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital mereka. Kajian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi dan kolaborasi digital yang efektif dalam komunitas fandom dapat dilakukan karena kanon dan nilai-nilainya sebagai pengikat sosial, sumber daya manusia dengan kapasitas dan minat yang sesuai, serta adanya nilai-nilai bersama. yang memandu proses interaksi dan komunikasi dalam kolaborasi.
