Abstract

This study is aimed at identifying Abu>-Zayd’s position with his theory of i’ja>z al-Qur’an among another theoretician of i’ja>z lugawi> and his contribution toward i’ja>z discourse and qur’anic studies. To achieve that goal, it will explore some elements underlying his theory, namely the basic element, the mode of thought, the essential element, the aim and the end of his i’ja>z thought.

Abstract

Lompatan besar dalam perkembangan teknologi informasi memperluas daya jangkau dan kecepatan aksesnya bagi masyarakat. Dampak suatu informasi kemudian menjadi semakin besar, termasuk informasi bohong di dunia usaha. Selama tahun 2018, ditemukan 73 disinformasi di bidang usaha yang menyebar di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia. Sebagian menjadi viral dan menimbulkan keresahan. Tulisan ini berusaha mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis disinformasi tersebut dengan menggunakan content analysis dan menelaahnya dari perspektif etika ekonomi Qur’ani. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa disinformasi di bidang usaha memiliki beberapa tipe   jika dilihat dari bentuk dan dampaknya yaitu attention hunter, indikasi pencurian data, serangan pada suatu produk, indikasi penipuan, dan propaganda politik. Jenis-jenis disinformasi ini bertentangan dengan prinsip-prinsip ekonomi Qur’ani yaitu kesatuan, kesetimbangan, kehendak bebas, pertanggungjawaban, dan kebenaran serta kebajikan

Abstract

Pada masa kolonial di bawah penjajahan Inggris, masyarakat Islam di India mengalami pergulatan yang unik. Di satu sisi penolakan akan yang asing dan impian kejayaan masa lalu melahirkan munculnya gerakan perlawanan dan purifikasi Islam. Akan tetapi di sisi lain, posisi umat Islam sebagai minoritas di India memiliki kontribusi dalam melahirkan munculnya sikap-sikap yang lebih akomodatif. Sayyid Ahmad Khan adalah tokoh penting yang memilih pendekatan akomodatif rekonstruksionis. Kajian ini berupa mendeskripsikan pemikirannya, latar belakang, serta implikasinya bagi pemikiran Islam dengan menggunakan sumber-sumber kepustakaan dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan content analysis.

Abstract

Al-Jāmi’ al-á¹¢aghÄ«r adalah salah satu kitab kompilasi hadis yang paling banyak dikutip dalam diskusi-diskusi keagamaan umat Islam. Kitab yang ditulis oleh salah satu ulama kenamaan Sunni, Al-Suyuá¹­Ä«. Kajian ini berupaya mengeksplorasi karakteristik kitab ini dalam beberapa aspek, seperti posisinya dalam periodesasi sejarah kajian hadis, tipe penyajian materi, referensi, dan kualitas materinya. Dengan mengetahui aspek-aspek tersebut, diharapkan agar dapat ditarik suatu gambaran tentang salah satu karya yang sangat menonjol sebagai representasi zamannya.

Abstract

Dunia sedang menghadapi krisis ekologi selama beberapa dekade. Agama dianggap dapat memainkan peran penting dalam menghadapi krisis ini karena posisi sentralnya dalam membentuk prilaku manusia terhadap alam. Artikel ini berusaha mengungkapkan sebab mengapa demikian dan berusaha mengonseptualisasikan bagaimana agama dapat memainkan peranan tersebut. Dalam hal itu, artikel ini juga mendeskripsikan beberapa lapisan masyarakat di mana kontribusi agama dapat diberikan dan beberapa strategi yang dapat dilakukan.

Abstract

From modern perspective, pesantren are often regarded as the basis of resistance to modernization that is often associated with the West. This resistance comes from the strong roots of the pesantren as a subculture. This study attempts to elaborate on how the pesantren's view of the West as a part of occidentalism. Using literary sources and content analysis methods, this study has resulted several conclusions. First, in the pre-independence era where the West was represented by the Dutch, The West had a bad image among the pesantrens. The Dutch was viewed as invaders who exploit people and stab them from behind. In addition, with public schools filled with aristocrats, the Netherlands became a competitor to civil education which was rooted in community based pesantren education. On the other hand, from the standpoint of religion, pesantren viewed the West as infidels

Abstract

The integration of psychological approaches in Islamic studies has gained significant attention in recent years, emphasizing the understanding of human behavior, mental processes, and emotions through both scientific and Islamic perspectives. This paper explores how Islamic teachings, particularly from the Quran and Hadith, align with modern psychological principles, offering a comprehensive framework for mental health, personal development, and emotional well-being. The application of concepts such as nafs (self/soul), fitrah (innate nature), and ruh (spirit) are discussed in relation to psychological theories of personality, motivation, and mental health. By bridging these fields, the study seeks to demonstrate how psychological tools and therapeutic techniques can be adapted within an Islamic framework to enhance spiritual and mental well-being, addressing issues like anxiety, depression, and personal growth. This interdisciplinary approach not only enhances the relevance of Islamic teachings in contemporary mental health discussions but also offers new perspectives for understanding human nature through a spiritual and scientific lens.

Abstract

Pendalungan is a hybrid culture established because of intensive contact between two dominant culture namely Javanese and Madurese. Those cultures represent their ethnicity. Beside the two, there are another ethnicity like Chinese and Arabs. Multilingual interaction has permeated everyday life of this community especially in the domain of commerce where all ethnic groups gathered. Language accommodation has become an effective strategy for intercultural interaction in this community. The purposes of this study were to describe the form of language selection, to describe the pattern of language accommodation, to describe the causes of language accommodation, and to describe the functions of language accommodation in the commercial domain of intercultural interaction in Pendalungan community. The data were collected by using observation method by applying the technique of taping as the basic technique. Then continued with advanced techniques such as observe-involve-participate, free observe-involve-participate, recording techniques, taking notes, and then complemented by interview results. The data were analyzed by using ethnographic methods and taking some sociolinguistic theories into account, like domain theory, language accommodation theory, and speech function theory. The study has resulted some findings. First, the forms of language selection in the commercial domain of intercultural interaction in Pendalungan community in Probolinggo City are single code, code switching and code mixing. The factors underlying the language selection are age, social status, ethnic identification, speech setting. The language selection has directive, referential, expressive, and phatic functions.
