Abstract

Abstract

Presbyopia is a condition of the eye that loses the ability to focus gradually, to see objects at close range. Presbyopia develops gradually, so someone sometimes just realizes the symptoms after passing the age of 40 years. Glasses are a tool to improve one's visual acuity. The choice of eyeglass frames for progressive lens use for presbyopia is very necessary to prevent inconvenience in using progressive lenses. A progressive lens is a lens where the strength of the lens gradually increases from the far zone, through the corridor to the near zone. In order for progressive lenses to provide optimal performance, first of all, the selection of eyeglass frames is right for the comfort of glasses wearers.

Abstract

Pupil Distance (PD) is measured in millimetres and even a slight variation can cause a number of vision and eye health problems due to inacurately fitting of Distance Vitror (DV). PD must be paralel to DV, therefore PD measurements must be committed throughtly. It requires comprehensive knowledge and technical skill. With the popularity of buying glasses online, a number of websites have come up with do-it-yourself measurements or apps that will take this measurement for you. The problem is that these are not scientifically accurate measurements and are not being performed by professionals. There is a large margin of error and buyers could end up with glasses that hurt their vision—not correct it.This research is aimed to show ideal procedure that must be committed in producing glasses to avoid inacurate PD measurement. The researcher uses library aprroach to gain related data and informations, then discuss the problem and solution in descriptive approach.

Abstract

This study was aimed at deciding risk factors of myopia suffered by school children and at finding out important prevention in order to eliminate the risk. The research was conducted in Riz-Q optical, located at Kembangan, West Jakarta. Employing qualitative method, the research collected data from children of Riz-Q optical customers suffering from myopia. Abstract

This paper aims to find important steps that must be taken by a number of parties to overcome the increase in cases of myopia in children. These steps are very urgent to be carried out in relation to cases of myopia which are growing very rapidly in children in this era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Using qualitative methods, this study explored a number of literatures and interviewed three experts who worked as lecturers at ARO Gapopin. The results of this study indicate that technology is closely related to the success of children in achieving Indonesia's Vision 2045 which is the golden generation related to the demographic bonus. Also, the increase in myopia is related to the myths that live in society that must be overcome. In addition, myopia can be overcome if the relevant parties have the knowledge and methods related to effective treatment.

Abstract

Adjusting the pantoscopic angle on a stainless steel rimless mounting frame has a high risk, it requires the special skills of an Optimistic Refractionist and requires adequate and skilled equipment to use it, the right lens characteristics, and understanding of the technique for making adjustments. In this writing, the author uses a descriptive method from library data, one of which is by David S. McCleary entitled The Optician Training Manual. Adjusting the pantoscopic angle with the right technique on the stainless steel rimless mounting frame will avoid the risk of damage to the frame and lens, and can produce glasses that are comfortable to use by eyeglass wearers.

Abstract

The study aims to find out how well people understand cataract disease, while also inducing people to better protect their eyes from exposure to sunlight. This research uses qualitative methods with a literature descriptive  approach with observation and interview techniques. The subject of the study is a citizen active on the coast of the lagoon at the age of 50 years and more.  The results show that the residents of the nest tend not to know cataracts that care less about or care for eye health. The socialization absence of local health services is one factor that makes people less aware of cataracts, less concerned about their eye health
