Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the behavior of farmers in dealing with price fluctuations in situation of covid-19. This method used is qualitative in which this study intends to describe and interpret a condition. This research location was carried out purposively in several village in Sidikalang district of Dairi regency. Data collected through interviews with several questionnaires.The result obtained include among others the area of land worked, age of farmers, number of dependent of farmers per month, level of education, commodity price, fertilizer prices and performance during the pandemic..Based on the research results that have been explained, the researcher concludes that the price of commodities during the pandemic has decreased, although the performance of the farmers remains.

Abstract

Research on the Effect of the Use of Organic Cow Manure and KCL on the Growth and Production of Shallots (Allium Ascalonicum L.) has been carried out in May-August 2021 at UPT. Parent Seeds of Kutagadung Berastagi Horticulture. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the right combination of cow dung and KCL fertilizer on the growth and production of the Batu ijo variety of shallots. The results showed that the effect of KCL fertilizer on plant height was that K0 (19.97 cm) was significantly different from K1 (22.35 cm), K2 (27.35 cm), and K3 (30.41 cm), and the effect of cow manure O0 (21.97 cm) was significantly different from O2 (25.52 cm) and O3 (27.89 cm) but not significantly different from O1 (23.7 cm). The average leaf growth at 8 WAP with the effect of K level was K0 (26.75 cm), K1 (17.17 cm), K2 (27.08 cm), and K3 (26.75 cm). Meanwhile, the influence of the O factor is O0 (26.33 cm), O1 (27.08 cm), O2 (27.25 cm), and O3 (27.08 cm). Onion crop production per sample had the effect of K0 level (88.7 g), significantly different from K1 (106.2 g), K2 (125.5 g), and K3 (137.1 g) and the effect of cow manure O0 ( 106.9 g) was significantly different from O1 (112.7 g), O2 (115.5 g), and O3 (122.3 g). The number of tubers affected by KCL fertilizer was K0 (8.6) significantly different from K1 (10.2), K2 (14.2), and K3 (15.04), and the effect of cow manure O0 (9) was significantly different from O1 (11,2), O2 (13,6), and O3 (14,2). Onion bulb diameter was significantly different from KCL K0 (1.46 cm) fertilizer with K1 (1.96 cm), K2 (2.66 cm), and K3 (3.24 cm), and the effect of cow manure O0 (2, 01 cm ) was significantly different from O1 (2.21 cm), O2 (2.41 cm), and O3 (2.69 cm). Wet weight of tubers per plot of KCL K0 (1.07 kg) was significantly different from K1 (1.33 kg), K2 (1.83 kg), and K3 (2.18 kg), and the effect of cow manure O0 (1 .04 kg) was significantly different from O1 (1.49 kg), O2 (1.88 kg), and O3 (2 kg).

Abstract

Research on the effect of tuber size and use of pesticides on the growth and yield of red onion (Allium Ascalonicum L) has been carried out at the UPT Seed Parent Horticulture Kutagadung Berastagi, Berastagi District, Karo Regency, from April-June 2021. The aim of the study were to determine the optimal seed size for growth and production of red onion variety of Batu Ijo and to find out how much pesticide dose was recommended.The results showed that the best plant height influenced by tuber size was U3 (N 12) 21.8 cm and U1 20 cm. Meanwhile, the lowest was U0 of 16.2 cm. The average number of plants that were most affected by fusarium disease was P0, the treatment with the least amount of pesticide was 15.5 plants. On the contrary, the lowest average was found at the level of P3 treatment, which was only 1 plant. Disease occurs along with increasing doses of fungicides and pesticides Optimum pesticide levels are h P2 (3 g of fungicide + 3 ml of insecticide) which produced an average number of tubers of 4,208. The highest average number of tubers was found at U3 which was 5.85 and the lowest was at U0 2.56. U3 level (seed tuber size > 15 grams) is the optimum treatment level. The average production per sample is the largest in the treatment effect of U3 which is 35.89 gr and the lowest is at U0 (5.52 gr). The average production per plot of the effect of pesticide level was P3 857.3 g or 0.8573 kg and the lowest was P0 689.1 g or 0.6891 kg. The average production per plot of the effect of seed tuber size level was U3 1507.2 gr or 1.5072 kg and the lowest was U0 194.3 gr or 0.1943 gr. The average production of shallots per plot was found in the U3P3 treatment (1589 gr or 1,589 kg) and the lowest was at U0P0 (159.3 gr).

Abstract

Active ingredients or also known as activators have an important role in  decomposition process of materials during composting. The active ingredient acts as a catalyst that breaks down the lignocellulose contained in the main ingredients of compost into simpler chain. In this research, the active ingredients used in the composting process are Beta and Eco Farming. The advantages of these two active ingredients in addition to acting as active ingredients are also rich in nutrients needed by plants. The nutrients produced from this decomposition process will be compared with the established standard, namely the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-7030-2004. The results of the analysis showed that the macronutrient content of the two active ingredients in the pellet compost product made from cow feed was in accordance with the standards set with the values of nitrogen (>0.4%), phosphorus (>0.1), and potassium (>0, 2). the c-organic content is in the standard range that has been set (9.8%-32%). The percentage of water content is below the maximum water content that has been set (50%). The acidity level (pH) for pellet compost with Beta active ingredients is in the standard lifting range with value of 7.17 while pellet compost with Eco Farming active ingredients has a pH of 7.88 which is close to the maximum standard value of 7.48. The number of C/N ratio is still higher than the standard set so that it takes a longer time in the fermentation process so that the appropriate number is obtained.

Abstract

Karo regency is center for carrot (Daucus carota L.) production in North Sumatra. It is estimated more than 1% of the rejected carrot yields are produced in each planting period. With the predicted harvest area, more than 1,000 tons of rejected carrots will be produced annually. This potential can be used as the material for the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). There are three research variables that were carried out, namely: 1) Independent variables consisting of fermentation periode consisting of 10 days, 20 days, 30 days and 40 days. 2) Fixed variable consisting of 4 kg of rejected carrots, 5 liters of water, 5 liters of old coconut water, 0.6 liters of brown sugar water, 0.05 kg of yeast, 0.5 liters of EM-4. 3) Bond variables consist of C-Organic content, Phosphorus content, Potassium content  and Nitrogen and pH content. The results showed that the peak of microorganism activity occurred on the 30th day. This treatment obtained the highest proportions of 0.07%, 0.14%, 0.87%  for Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium levels respectively. The highest C-Organic content was obtained in the H-20 and H-30 treatments with a proportion of 1.55%. The acidity level was stable at a value range of 3.5 from the start to the end of the quenching process. LOF carrots produced are still not in accordance with established quality standards. The percentage value of macro elements, C-Organic and pH is still below the set quality standards.

Abstract

The purpose of the service is to foster the spirit of learning mathematics in students. The process carried out in this service is to prepare game tools and materials, compile instructions for implementing the game method, provide set problems, solve set problems by inviting students to get involved in solving set problems. The implementation method used in this service is the game method, namely the presentation of subject matter through games to create a fun, serious, and relaxed atmosphere so that students will learn happily. The results obtained from the service activities are the results of the pre test with the post test having an increase in value of 8.49%. Comparison of post test scores to the game model has an increase in scores of 8.70% in the Good category. The interpretation of the results of the service obtained is that by using the questions to the game can help to analyze to get decisions and results.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi pupuk organik cair terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman bawang merah varietas batu ijo (Allium ascalonicum L), Untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi pupuk kalium terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman bawang merah varietas batu ijo (Allium ascalonicum L), Untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi pupuk organik cair dan pupuk kalium terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman bawang merah varietas batu ijo (Allium ascalonicum L). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Jarak tanam : 20 x 20 cm, Jumlah ulangan : 3 ulangan Jumlah plot : 36 plot Ukuran plot : 1 m x 1 m Jarak antara plot : 50 cm Jarak antara ulangan : 60 cm  Jumlah tanaman /plot : 25 tanaman  Jumlah tanaman sampel /plot : 5 tanaman Jumlah populasi tanaman :900 tanaman Jumlah tanaman sampel :180 tanaman Luas areal keseluruhan : 84 m2 Pemberian pupuk organik cair tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan berat umbi per rumpun. Pemberian pupuk kalium tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan jumlah anakan per rumpun, Interaksi antara pemberian pupuk organik cair dan pupuk kalium (A x K) tidak berpengaruh nyata terdahap parameter pengamatan berat umbi per rumpun

Abstract

Talimbaru Village is one of the villages in Barusjahe District, Karo Regency. This village is one of the centers for producing cabbage (Cabbage) plants. The cabbage waste produced has not been utilized and is usually only thrown away or left behind on agricultural land. The fermentation process of cabbage waste can be converted into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) which can be used to improve the soil and can be a useful nutrient for plant growth. This service activity aims to provide training in making liquid organic fertilizer to farmer groups with materials in the form of cabbage waste as the main ingredient and coconut water, clean water, yeast, brown sugar and EM-4 as decomposer liquid. The results of this activity were in the form of high response and enthusiasm of participants in participating in socialization and training and obtaining leachate that can be diluted as a soil amendment and nutrients for plant growth.

Abstract

Research to study the effect of a good combination of growing media and application of N fertilizer on the growth and yield of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea, L.). The research time was carried out from June 2022 to October 2022 at Raya Village garden, Berastagi District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province, with an altitude of 1,300 above sea level with latosol soil type and soil pH 6.8. This research was conducted from June 2022 to October 2022. This research was conducted with a factorial experiment of 3x2 = 6 + 1 controls arranged in a factorial randomized block design (RAK). The first factor was the composition of the planting medium (M), which consisted of 3 treatment levels, namely: Mo: Control (without mixture), M1: Soil + husk charcoal with a volume ratio (1:1), M2: Sand + charcoal husk with a volume ratio (1:1) , M3: Soil + sand + husk charcoal by volume ratio (1:1:1) . The second factor was the dose of ZA (N) fertilizer which consisted of 3 treatment levels, namely: N1 : 50 kg/ha, N2 : 100 kg/ha, N3 : 150 kg/ha . The observed variables were plant height, number of leaves, number of roots, fresh weight of plants, fresh weight of flowers/plant, dry weight of plants, initiation of flowering, flower diameter. Mixing plant media and N fertilizer can increase the growth and yield of cauliflower plants. M3N3 treatment ( Soil + sand + husk charcoal with volume ratio (1:1:1) + Nitrogen fertilizer 150 kg/ha, is the best treatment that can increase growth and yield of cauliflower on the number of roots (7.27 fruit), fresh weight of plants (7.95 g), dry weight of plants (2.69 g), initiation of flowering (6.00 hst), fresh weight of flowers/plant (6.98 g), flower diameter (3.09 mm).
