Abstract

Geometri sebagai bagian dari Matematika yang membahas mengenai objek abstrak dari objek-objek yang sering ditemukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Geometri yang berkaitan dengan bentuk abstrak dari objek-objek nyata ini adalah geometri dua dimensi (bangun datar) dan geometri tiga dimensi (bangun ruang). Penggunaan media berbasis teknologi memudahkan siswa dapat melihat interpretasi geometris. Salah satu perangkat lunak yang dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran geometri adalah Aplikasi Geogebra. Penggunaan aplikasi Geogebra perlu diterapkan dalam tingkat SMP. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan memperagakan secara singkat penggunaan dari aplikasi Geogebra kepada siswa/siswi SMP Negeri 1 Berastagi. Kegiatan ini  dilakukan dalam dua mekanisme, yaitu mekanisme persiapan PkM dengan tiga rangkaian kegiatan, dan mekanisme pelaksanaan dengan empat rangkaian kegiatan.

Abstract

Active ingredients or also known as activators have an important role in  decomposition process of materials during composting. The active ingredient acts as a catalyst that breaks down the lignocellulose contained in the main ingredients of compost into simpler chain. In this research, the active ingredients used in the composting process are Beta and Eco Farming. The advantages of these two active ingredients in addition to acting as active ingredients are also rich in nutrients needed by plants. The nutrients produced from this decomposition process will be compared with the established standard, namely the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-7030-2004. The results of the analysis showed that the macronutrient content of the two active ingredients in the pellet compost product made from cow feed was in accordance with the standards set with the values of nitrogen (>0.4%), phosphorus (>0.1), and potassium (>0, 2). the c-organic content is in the standard range that has been set (9.8%-32%). The percentage of water content is below the maximum water content that has been set (50%). The acidity level (pH) for pellet compost with Beta active ingredients is in the standard lifting range with value of 7.17 while pellet compost with Eco Farming active ingredients has a pH of 7.88 which is close to the maximum standard value of 7.48. The number of C/N ratio is still higher than the standard set so that it takes a longer time in the fermentation process so that the appropriate number is obtained.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase students' enthusiasm in learning sets so that students are interested in learning sets. The method used in this service is the game method in answering questions from the set. The results obtained from service activities using the game method are that students are faster at solving set problems compared to solving problems in a theoretical way. The conclusion that can be drawn from this service activity is that learning math using the game method can teach students to concentrate more in the process of learning math at school.

Abstract

Karo regency is center for carrot (Daucus carota L.) production in North Sumatra. It is estimated more than 1% of the rejected carrot yields are produced in each planting period. With the predicted harvest area, more than 1,000 tons of rejected carrots will be produced annually. This potential can be used as the material for the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). There are three research variables that were carried out, namely: 1) Independent variables consisting of fermentation periode consisting of 10 days, 20 days, 30 days and 40 days. 2) Fixed variable consisting of 4 kg of rejected carrots, 5 liters of water, 5 liters of old coconut water, 0.6 liters of brown sugar water, 0.05 kg of yeast, 0.5 liters of EM-4. 3) Bond variables consist of C-Organic content, Phosphorus content, Potassium content  and Nitrogen and pH content. The results showed that the peak of microorganism activity occurred on the 30th day. This treatment obtained the highest proportions of 0.07%, 0.14%, 0.87%  for Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium levels respectively. The highest C-Organic content was obtained in the H-20 and H-30 treatments with a proportion of 1.55%. The acidity level was stable at a value range of 3.5 from the start to the end of the quenching process. LOF carrots produced are still not in accordance with established quality standards. The percentage value of macro elements, C-Organic and pH is still below the set quality standards.

Abstract

The rapid harvest cycle of pakcoy and its high nutritional value have increased its cultivation intensity in Indonesia, followed by rising production needs. This experiment evaluated the response of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) growth and yield to the combined application of goat urine liquid organic fertilizer and NPK Mutiara fertilizer. The study was carried out in Kutagaluh Village, Tiganderket District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. A factorial randomized block design with three replications was applied. Goat urine fertilizer treatments consisted of U0 (0 ml/L), U1 (75 ml/L), U2 (150 ml/L), and U3 (225 ml/L), while NPK Mutiara fertilizer treatments included N0 (0 g), N1 (5 g), N2 (10 g), and N3 (15 g). Observations indicated that both single and combined treatments significantly improved the growth and production performance of pakcoy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the physical characteristics of organic mulch sheets made from banana stalks, water hyacinth, and a combination of both, as well as to evaluate their effectiveness on soil microclimate, weed growth, and the yield of Chinese cabbage (caisim) in the highlands of Karo Regency. The study employed an experimental design using a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments and three replications. The observed variables included the physical properties of the mulch, the degree of degradation, soil coverage effectiveness, weed growth, and crop yield during the study’s observation period. Data were analyzed using an F-test at the 5% significance level and the BNJ test. The results showed that the organic mulch mixture of banana stalks and water hyacinth (1:1) had the best physical characteristics, with a tensile strength of 0.9761 MPa, elongation of 1.47%, and Young’s modulus of 15.7532 MPa, as well as the lowest damage rate (45%) and the highest soil coverage effectiveness (80%). The use of organic mulch had a significant effect on suppressing weed growth compared to no mulch. The mixed mulch produced the lowest number of weeds, at 28.33 individuals, and the lowest weed weight, at 6.33 g. However, differences in mulch type did not have a significant effect on the weight of the Chinese cabbage plants. Overall, a mulch mixture of banana leaves and water hyacinth is recommended as the most effective organic mulch alternative for weed control in Chinese cabbage cultivation.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membangun kesadaran pelajar tentang pentingnya menabung sejak dini. Melalui pembiasaan menyisihkan sebagian uang saku ke dalam celengan, siswa diharapkan dapat konsisten menerapkan budaya ini. Kemudian, kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan kebiasaan hemat dan mengajarkan serta memotivasi pelajar untuk menjalankan pengelolaan uang secara sederhana. Pada dasarnya, menabung adalah tindakan menyisihkan uang untuk kebutuhan masa depan atau situasi darurat. Praktik ini tidak hanya menekan perilaku konsumtif dan membantu siswa memprioritaskan kebutuhan di atas keinginan, tetapi juga melatih kemandirian mereka dalam mengelola keuangan pribadi secara lebih bijak.
