Abstract

Kontribusi energi kelautan merupakan hasil konversi gaya mekanik, gaya potensial, dan perbedaantemperatur air laut. Potensi energi kelautan yang cukup tinggi diantaranya energi panas laut (ocean thermal), energipasang surut (tidal energy), energi gelombang (wind wave energy), dan energi arus laut (current energy). Menyikapikondisi tersebut, perlu diwujudkan suatu perumusan kebijakan tentang energi dan sumberdaya mineral kelautan, dalamupaya memanfaatkan energi baru, energi terbarukan, dan energi alternatif yang dapat menjadi prioritas dan dapattermanfaatkan secara optimal bagi sebesar-besarnya kemakmuran dan kesejahteraan rakyat Indonesia. Kebijakan Energi Nasional pemerintah memfokuskan pada pencapaian sasaran kebijakan energi nasional.Kebijakan ini mensyaratkan pemanfaatan minyak bumi menjadi kurang dari 20%, gas bumi lebih dari 30%,batubara lebih dari 33%, bahan bakar nabati (biofuel) menjadi lebih dari 5%, panas bumi menjadi lebih dari 5%.Sementara, energi baru dan energi terbarukan lainnya, khususnya biomassa, nuklir, tenaga air, tenaga surya, dantenaga angin menjadi lebih dari 5%, serta batubara yang dicairkan (liquefied coal) menjadi lebih dari 2%. Kebijakan strategis merupakan kebijakan portofolio yang bersifat baru maupun lebih me mf o k u s k a n p a d a meningkatkan pemakaian sumber energi baru dan terbarukan, terutama energi geothermal dan sumber energi darikelautan. Dan kebijakan yang akti f mengintensifkan pencarian, inventarisasi dan penelitian potensi gas biogenikyang banyak terdapat di perairan dangkal di wilayah pesisir dan muara sungai, agar prospek pemanfaatan danpengelolaan gas tersebut dapat dijadikan tumpuan dalam pembangunan ekonomi masyarakat pesisir kawasan pantaiterpencil di masa yang akan datang sejalan dengan konsepsi strategi pemerataan energi nasional.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan mensosialisasikan inovasi teknologi navigasi dalam  bidang  maritim melalui virtual outing untuk anak-anak Jogjakarta Montessori School Elementary Program. Peserta yang  dilibatkan dalam  kegiatan pengabdian  ini  yaitu  Guru-guru SD dan anak-anak kelas 4,5 dan 6. Rangkaian kegiatan ini meliputi 3 tahapan yaitu: Tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaaan dan tahap evaluasi. Tahap persiapan meliputi  persiapan alat-alat navigasi yang dimiliki oleh Sekolah Tinggi Maritim Yogyakarta dan pembuatan materi.  Tahap  pelaksanaan meliputi pembukaan, pemaparan materi dan penjelasan alat-alat navigasi di laboratorium simulator, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dan tanya jawab peserta yang hadir. Pada tahap evaluasi, peserta mengisi kuesioner melalui google form, hasil kuesioner yaitu  meliputi: aspek  presentasi  yang  disampaikan  pemateri  memiliki  nilai  kepuasan sebesar 76.27%,  aspek  atensi  yang disampaikan  oleh  pemateri terhadap pengenalan alat-alat navigasi mempunyai nilai kepuasan sebesar 83.05%,  aspek  motivasi tanya jawab mempunyai nilai kepuasan sebesar 88.14%,  rata-rata semua aspek mempunyai nilai kepuasan sebesar 82.48 % Kata kunci: teknologi; navigasi; maritim; virtual outing. ABSTRACTThis community service aims to introduce and socialize navigation technology innovations in the maritime field through virtual outings for the children of the Elementary Program in the Yogyakarta Montessori School. The participants involved in this service activity are elementary school teachers and children class 4,5 and 6. This series of activities includes 3 stages, namely: the preparation stage, the implementation stage and the evaluation stage. The preparation stage completes the preparation of navigation tools owned by the Sekolah Tinggi Maritim Yogyakarta and the manufacture of materials. The implementation stage of the opening, the presentation of the material and navigational tools was followed by discussion and question and answer from the participants present. At the evaluation stage, participants filled out a questionnaire through the google form, the results of the questionnaire include: aspects of the presentation delivered by the speaker have a satisfaction value of 76.27%, aspects of attention submitted by speakers to the introduction of navigation tools have a satisfaction value of 83.05%, aspects of question and answer motivation have a satisfaction value of 88.14%, on average all aspects have a satisfaction value of 82.48 %. Keywords: technology; navigation; maritime; virtual outing

Abstract

The problem of domestic waste in Soragan has not completely been solved by Bantul municipal government. The government has realized this problem, however, it has not found an appropriate long term solution. The objectives of the research on community-based waste management are (1) to describe a community-based domestic waste management in Soragan Bantul municipality, (2) to identify the problems in the community-based domestic waste management, and (3) to recommend the solutions for improving the community-based domestic waste management. The research was conducted in Soragan in which a pilot project of the community-based domestic waste management has been initiated. The descriptive qualitative research was employed in this research. Data were collected with interview, questionnaire, observation, and documentation. The collected data were validated and analyzed qualitatively. The findings of the research are as follows :. Firstly, the pilot project of the community-based domestic waste management in Soragan, Bantul municipality has successfully been carried out by using 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) principle and has reduced the amount of waste in Temporary Waste Dumping (TPS) up to 73%. Secondly, the community-based domestic waste management using 3R principle is a paradigmatic solution. Thirdly, the main problem of carrying out the community-based domestic waste management is how to change old paradigm of “throwing out the waste” to “managing the waste”. The other identified problems are : (1) the municipal government has not appreciated the people who have been sorting domestic waste; (2) there is no mechanism and person to supervises and evaluates the management; (3) the management has not been provided with supporting facilities and infrastructures; (4) sorting domestic waste has not really been completed; (5) people do not form new cadres who have capability and integrity to manage waste. There are six recommendations to manage domestic waste. Firstly, the government, RT boards, and managers plan to facilitate people measurably how to sort domestic waste properly. Secondly, the government organizes and gives incentive and disincentive to encourage people. Thirdly, the government, RT boards, and managers make a mechanism and appoint persons to supervise and evaluate the management. Fourthly, the government provides facilities and infrastructures to support the management. Fifthly, managers and RT boards find strategies to form new cadres who have capability and integrity to manage waste. Sixthly, the community-based domestic waste management is a suitable model developed in urban areas.

Abstract

This research is a study on the waters quality observed through the content of carbonate and organic substance found in the bed sediment of Serang river estuary in Kulonprogo. The result of the research is aimed to provide the data about the content of carbonate and organic substance as well as the size of granule. Then, in turn, this result will help to monitor one of the waters quality parameters in that area, besides it will provide the consideration in running the business on fishpond cultivation. Research method applied in this research is a descriptive method and the data is administered explosively, whereas the sampling is done using the purposive sampling method. The analysis on carbonate and organic substance is conducted chemically on the bed sediment of the waters, and the granule analysis is done using sieve shaker whereas the analysis of sediment distribution in the location is done using 4 statistic parameters : mean, deviation standard, skweness and kurtosis. The result of the physical analysis indicates that bed sediment of Serang river in Kulonprogo consists of granular silt, silted very fine and sand. The highest content of carbonate is found for about 16% - 16,4% in coastal area, the estuary consists of 9,2% - 9,6% and the river consists of 9,1% - 9,8%. The highest content of organic substance is found in the estuary and the lowest is found in the coastal area, whereas the content of it in the river is between them. Rubbish and organic waste accumulated in the estuary influence the level of the organic substance content, however, as a whole the content of organic substance in the estuary is in the medium classification.

Abstract

Purworejo Regency is one of the five areas affected by the Java tsunami run-up on July 17, 2006. Based on the results of the Rapid Survey by BPDP and BPPT, along Pantai Kebempuan is the location of the tsunami run-up in Purworejo Regency at coordinates 109,912 LS -7.85 East BT 1.7 meters. The purpose of this study is to estimate the tsunami travel time, distribution of tsunami wave heights and tsunami coverage areas due to the impact of the Java earthquake on July 17, 2006 at Pantai Kebempuan, Purworejo. The method used is a descriptive analytical method with a quantitative approach. The data used in this study are the high point, bathymetry, earthquake parameters, tidal forecasts for the waters of the Kebempuan coast, Geo Eye 1 image data, and beach slope. Tsunami modeling using COMCOT v 1.7 software with the Java 17 July 2006. Based on data processing, it is known that the maximum wave speed is 3.8788 m / s. In the 40th minute, the initial amplitude of the tsunami wave of 1,644 meters had reached the Kebshore Beach. The widest tsunami coverage area and the maximum farthest distance to occur on the Labor Beach are 1.23 km2 and 1.4 km. Based on the results of verification with an RSR value of 0.26. The results of validation of tsunami simulations using COMCOT v.17 note that the height of the model tsunami run-up is quite in accordance with the run-up data that occurred at the time of the incident, with an RSR value of 0.29 and a CF of 1.63.

Abstract

Kebakaran yang terjadi di Yogyakarta mengalami peningkatan dari tahun sebelumnya naik ke tahun berikutnya, khususnya di daerah yang padat penduduknya serta pada wilayah atau daerah industri. Kebakaran merupakan hal yang sering terjadi, dan ini akan membahayakan serta mengancam keselamatan jiwa seseorang. Oleh karena itu sangat dibutuhkan sikap kesadaran serta kesiapan untuk menangani apabila terjadi kebakaran dan ini perlu peran serta dukungan baik oleh masyarakat itu sendiri maupun pemerintah setempat. Bertolak dari sering terjadinya bencana kebakaran tersebut sangat diperlukan suatu pelatihan perlindungan risiko kebakaran dengan pengenalan dan penggunaan APAR. Pelatihan yang dilakukan bertujuan agar masyarakat lebih mengetahui serta memahami bagaimana bila terjadi musibah kebakaran serta bagaimana penanggulangannya. Pelatihan dilakukan di Dusun Condong Catur, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta, karena wilayah ini sangat padat penduduknya dan riskan terjadi kebakaran, disamping itu dusun Condong Catur letaknya berdampingan dengan kota Yogyakarta yang penduduknya padat. Peserta berjumlah 30 orang. Dari hasil pelatihan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, diantaranya terjadi peningkatan pemahaman mengenai konsep segitiga api sebesar 90%, peningkatan pemahaman pengetahuan penggunaan APAR sebesar 87%, dan peningkatan konsep pemadaman tradisional mengalami peningkatan sebesar 83%. Abstract

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has the task of carrying out government duties in the fields of Meteorology, Climatology, Air Quality, and Geophysics by the provisions of the applicable legislation.  This study aims to search and utilize BMKG meteorological data in the Yogyakarta area. This research was conducted at the Mlati Climatology Station, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The analysis used uses descriptive analysis. The data collection method uses observation techniques, interviews, documentation from offline data centers, and BMKG online data. From the results of the study, the search for meteorological data of BMKG Yogyakarta for the benefit of the community includes inputting data until processing until it is published to the public through social media such as Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Email, Radio, and Television. The utilization and importance of BMKG weather information are very influential for the survival of the people in Yogyakarta. With the information from the BMKG, the community can know the weather forecasts in the next few days and adjust the work that makes the weather as its indicator such as farming, tourism, fisheries, transportation, trade, and government as well as government agencies working in the field of disaster management.

Abstract

Ship maintenance is necessary and must be implemented. Among maintenance is corrosion prevention. The corrosion of a ship cannot be eliminated, but can only be reduced to a level of malignancy. There are two types of corrosion prevention, namely passive and active prevention. Passive prevention that is commonly done is by painting, while active prevention is by installing Zinc Anode Protection (ZAP). The need for ZAP on the ship depends on the wet surface area of ​​the ship, the replacement period, the type of material from the ZAP, and the size of the ZAP. Installation of ZAP on a ship is generally done by bolting it on the ship's body. The distance between one plate and another is not the same. Placement of ZAP is installed in relatively large flow sections around the keel and those located in the eddy area around the propellerinstalled tighter than other areas.

Abstract

Improving the quality of Human Resources in the marine sector through the development of Vocational High Schools in the Maritime Sector still faces challenges. Link and match with industry have not happened thoroughly other than that educators are not adequate. Vocational High School teachers have not met the needs, so it is necessary to develop the management of Vocational High Schools in the maritime sector. The purpose of this Community Service activity is to conduct training to develop maritime school management to make vocational high schools in the maritime field a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Supporting the Learning Process. The method used in this service activity is training carried out with three kinds, namely: lecture method, discussion and question and answer method as well as an evaluation method. The results of the service show that with this training, the CoE of vocational education vocational schools that are increasingly relevant to the demands of community needs that are constantly changing according to the development of the business/industry world and can support the learning process regularly and continuously. The results of the training evaluation showed the enthusiasm and positive motivation of the trainees which was marked by the value of the evaluation results of the implementation of the training obtained an average score of excellent criteria of 79.33% and a good of 20.67%. After the training, it is hoped that training participants can hone their skills in developing maritime school management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning attitudes, learning knowledge and learning motivation on the Application of Occupational Health and Safety using path analysis. The method used in this study is the quantitative method with a correlational research type. The population in this study is cadets of the Ship Machinery Study Program, at Yogyakarta Maritime High School. Sample The selection of research samples is carried out using the saturated sampling method or census method, which is all members of the sample population. The data analysis method uses path analysis with the Smartpls3 SEM model. Based on the results of the study, there was a significant positive direct influence of learning attitudes on the learning motivation of cadets. Learning attitudes have a positive and significant effect on the Application of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the Ship Machinery Laboratory. Furthermore, there is a significant positive direct influence of learning knowledge on the learning motivation of cadets. Learning knowledge has a positive and significant effect on the Application of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the Ship Machinery Laboratory. Learning motivation has a positive and significant effect on the Application of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the Ship Machinery Laboratory.
