Abstract

The high demand for competence in the world of the shipping industry today demands an increase in the skills of the Commercial Ship Engineering Study Program cadets, especially in the field of welding techniques. This indicates that Taruna's welding technique skills are still low. This Community Service Activity aims to improve welding technique skills and welding understanding for cadets. The Community Service Activity method uses the Competence-Based Training (CBT) Model, which combines theory, demonstration, and practicum. Evaluation is done by doing a pre-test, and post-test. CBT participants are 11th grade cadets of SMK Pelayaran Muhammadiyah 1 Kalasan Yogyakarta, with the expertise of Commercial Ship Engineering, with a total of 25 cadets. The results of the evaluation of Community Service were an increase of 60% in theory mastery, an increase of 64% in understanding demonstrations, and an increase of 84% in the skills of cadets in welding practice

Abstract

Technological developments in this modern era require changes in educational approaches to ensure that students have skills that are relevant to the needs of industry, especially electric vehicles. The research aims to develop an industrial integrated electric vehicle learning tool and test its feasibility. This research design adopts Richey and Klein's research and development (R&D) stages with development and internal validation stages. The research objects were carried out at four vocational schools in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and the Automotive Jogjakarta Center (OJC) with research subjects being teachers, experts and industrial practitioners. The resulting research is the competency aspects needed by the electric vehicle industry and the design of electric vehicle learning aids/Electric Vehicle Learning Simulator (EVLIS) that are feasible and ready to be made into product prototypes. EVLIS can help improve the attitude competency, knowledge and skills of electric vehicle technology for vocational school students. Not only that, the development of EVLIS involving the electric vehicle industry can strengthen collaboration/partnership between the industrial world and vocational schools. Abstract

No.46 Tahun 1996, PP No. 7 Tahun 2000 , UU No.31 Tahun 2004, Keputusan Menteri No. 9 Tahun 2005, UU.

Abstract

The Indonesian seafaring workforce is one of the inseparable pillars that play a role in this paradigm, having a complexity of its protection, especially those working in the international maritime industry so it becomes a serious concern for the government. The purpose of community service through this online national seminar is to obtain information and recommendations on strengthening the protection of Indonesian seafarer labour in the national shipping industry. The service method through online national seminars is carried out online through the Zoom Meeting application. There were 1187 service participants from various circles, namely government agencies by 20%, private institutions by 25%, academics including university leaders, lecturers by 15%, students/cadets by 35%, general 4% and international 1%. The result of this community service is the strengthening of labour protection of Indonesian seafarers in the international maritime industry accommodating 4 (four) aspects of protection which include: protection on board, protection of travel documents, training education and guard service, and safety and security of life at sea.

Abstract

Field study orientation guidance is intended as an effort to develop elements of behaviour and ability in good learning to produce positive abilities, high learning motivation, and high skills and effective learning skills in students through integrative activities in the learning process in the field to develop the competence of study program graduates. The purpose of this community service is to conduct field study orientation guidance to develop graduate competence on the Km Lawit Ship to Semarang-Karimun. The implementation method used in this service is direct guidance in the field by providing direction, guidance techniques, and evaluating graduate competence development efforts. Field study orientation numbered 100 people, with details of study programs: nautical studies totalling 13 people, ship machinery study program totalling 15 people, marine transportation management study program totalling 40 people, and transportation study program totalling 32 people. The result of this service is the average field study orientation guidance activities to develop the competence of graduates, who answered strongly agreeing by 84.40%, agreeing by 11.80%, neutral by 3.00%, disagreeing by 0.80%, and disagreeing by 0.00%.

Abstract

Industry-Oriented Problem-Based Learning Model (I-ProBL) was developed to address the work readiness of vocational high school graduates that are not fully aligned with industry needs. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of the I-ProBL model in improving the skills of vocational high school students. The model used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study were 270 students, 6 teachers, 3 industry practitioners, and 2 vocational education experts in three vocational high schools in Yogyakarta. The object of this study is the I-ProBL learning model applied in the vocational high school curriculum. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, validation questionnaires, and tests. The instruments used included interview grids, model feasibility validation questionnaires, and student practice test instruments. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively by calculating the average value and percentage of student skill improvement before and after the implementation of the I-ProBL model. The results showed that the I-ProBL model has a high level of suitability with industry needs (4.6, very good category) and relevance to the world of work (4.7, very good category). the implementation of this model increased the average student grades by 20.1% to 21.2% and increased student engagement in learning (85%) and their readiness to face the world of work (90%). The impact of this study shows that I-ProBL can be an effective solution in improving the quality of vocational school graduates and strengthening the relationship between schools and industry. However, for more optimal implementation, it is necessary to improve teacher training, provide more adequate facilities, and support policies that encourage closer collaboration between vocational schools and the industrial world.
