Abstract

Atlet muda banyak yang terlihat berlatih sepanjang tahun dengan intensitas tinggi dari sebelumnya, banyak juga yang memilih fokus pada satu cabang olahraga sebelum remaja, orang tua dan atlet banyak yang percaya bahwa memulai pelatihan intensif dan khusus pada usia dini diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan pengembangan  keterampilan khusus olahraga. Memilih untuk mengambil spesialisasi dalam satu cabang olahraga dan mengejar pelatihan dengan intensitas tinggi banyak dilakukan atlet muda pada saat sebelum sekolah menengah atas, namun banyak juga terdapat literatur yang menjelaskan bahwa pendekatan semacam ini memempatkan anak – anak dan remaja pada peningkatan resiko cedera mental dan fisik, dan tidak memberikan manfaat yang diharapkan dalam pengembangan keterampilan khusus olahraga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif, Artikel ini mengulas masalah terkait spesialisasi olahraga awal, menjelaskan prinsip – prinsip aktivitas fisik yang sesuai dengan perkembangan dan memberikan panduan praktis, serta sumber daya untuk membantu praktisi dalam konseling keluarga dan atlet muda. Berbagai banyak macam kekuatan atau dorongan untuk atlet muda untuk menuju kompetisi dan komitmen ,tetapi jelas bahwa keputusan untuk memainkan satu cabang olahraga atau olahraga dengan mengesampingkan semua olahraga lainnya, dapat menyebabkan atau memiliki banyak efek yang merugikan.

Abstract

Background: Monitoring training load is essential for optimizing performance while minimizing injury risk in endurance athletes. However, evidence linking daily workload fluctuations and injury occurrence in runners remains limited. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the relationship between daily training load, accumulated workload, and injury occurrence in distance runners using a longitudinal time-series dataset. Methods: A retrospective observational design was used to analyze longitudinal training data from 74 distance runners, comprising 42,766 daily observations. Training-load variables included total running distance, intensity zones, sprint distance, strength training participation, and perceived recovery indicators. Injury occurrence was recorded as a binary outcome (injury vs. no injury). Logistic regression and workload-ratio analysis were applied to evaluate associations between training load variables and injury risk. Results: The analysis identified 583 injury events across the observation period. Higher accumulated running volume and greater fluctuations in daily workload were associated with an increased likelihood of injury. In addition, reduced perceived recovery scores were linked to a higher probability of injury occurrence, suggesting the importance of internal load monitoring alongside external training metrics. Conclusions: Variations in workload progression and insufficient recovery may contribute to injury risk in distance runners. Monitoring training load accumulation and recovery indicators may help coaches and practitioners implement more effective load-management strategies to reduce injury risk while maintaining performance development.

Abstract

Background: Height is an important anthropometric factor in football and may influence positional roles and performance. Players in different positions are required to perform specific tasks, which may lead to differences in physical characteristics such as height. However, evidence on height differences across playing positions is still limited. Methods: This study analyzed data from 100 football players (20 per position). Mean height was compared across positions using one-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey post hoc test to identify pairwise differences. Results: There was a significant difference in height across playing positions (F(4, 95) = 13.26, p < 0.001). Goalkeepers showed the greatest mean height (189.80 cm), followed by defenders (183.85 cm), attackers (182.40 cm), unspecified players (180.95 cm), and midfielders (177.95 cm). Tukey post hoc analysis showed that goalkeepers were significantly taller than all other positional groups, while defenders were significantly taller than midfielders. Conclusions: Height differs across playing positions in football and reflects position-specific demands. These findings suggest that height can be considered in talent identification and player selection, particularly for positions that require aerial ability. However, performance in football is influenced by multiple factors, not height alone.
