Abstract

Pembahasan mengenai karakter merupakan hal penting dan mendasar. Baik atau buruknya karakter seseorang tercermin dalam sikap/tingkah lakunya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Melihat situasi di negara kita saat ini yang nampak pada buruknya tingkah laku warga negara, dari pemberitaan yang ada di berbagai media massa. Hampir setiap hari memberitakan tentang kejahatan yang dilakukan, baik itu kejahatan biasa maupun kejahatan yang luar biasa sebenarnya sudah sangat sulit untuk ditoleransi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus sedangkan teknilk pegumpulan datayaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun responden adalah dosen Pendidikan Pancasila yaitu 2 orang. Pada penelitian ini, juga mencoba mengamati hambatan-hambatan yang dihadapi oleh dosen dalam mengintegrasikan konsep pendidikan karakter dalam tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Integrasi pendidikan karakter dalam matakuliah Pancasila. Hal merupakan solusi yang dapat membangkitkan kembali peranPancasila sebagai mata kuliah yang merupakan leading sector dalam pengembangan karakter mahasiswa.

Abstract

Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh setiap manusia. Ada beberapa alasan mengapa bahasa Inggris ditetapkan sebagai bahasa internasional. Diantaranya, karena bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu bahasa tertua di dunia bahasa Inggris sangat familiar dan lebih banyak digunakan diberbagai negara, terutama negara jajahan Inggris. Makanya bahasa Inggris lebih cepat menyebar ke berbagai belahan dunia. Para mahasiswa memiliki pandangan bahwa tantangan di masa depan sangat besar. Karena itu, mereka beranggapan, tantangan tersebut harus dibarengi dengan penguasaan-penguasaan salah satunya penguasaan bahasa asing, yaitu bahasa Inggris. Oleh sebab itu, pelatihan bagi mahasiswa STAI Auliaurrasyidin Tembilahan ini bertujuan untuk (a) memberikan wadah bagi mahasiswa STAI Auliaurrasyidin Tembilahan untuk dapat mempelajari bahasa Inggris secara khusus, (b) memberikan wawasan kepada mahasiswa tentang bagaimana cara mempelajari bahasa Inggrissecara umum, dan (c) memberikan tips dan trik melakukan percakapan dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris dalam situasi-situasi formal dan non-formal. Dari kegiatan pelatihan ini, didapati bahwa, dari mahasiswa yang hadir, mereka sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan ini, mesipun tidak jarang dari mereka mengalami kesulitan-kesulitan dalam mengucapkan kata-kata bahasa Inggris, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the significant effect of using comic strips strategy toward students’ reading comprehension and writing ability at MTsN 1 Pekanbaru. A Quasi-Experimental by Non-equivalent Pre-test and Post-test Group was applied as a designed for study. The sample was two classes (VIII 3 and VIII 4) consisting 20 students of treatment class, and 20 students of control class. The data were computed using SPPS 20.0 to analyze Independent sample t-test and Paired sample t-test. The finding of this study revealed that there was a significant effect on students’ reading comprehension by using comic strips strategy, it shown on paired sample t-test; treatment class was 77 and control class was 64.5, the hypothesis testing showed the result of post T-test -7.149, then score of sig.(2-tailed) is 0.000, if we act to null hypothesis (Ho) that is 0.05, it means that the score of sig.(2-tailed) was smaller than score of Ho. The data also revealed that there was a significant effect on students’ writing ability, it shown on paired sample t-test; treatment class was 79.6 and control class was 54.2, the hypothesis testing showed the result of post T-test -21.9, then score of sig.(2-tailed) is 0.000, if we act to null hypothesis (Ho) that is 0.05, it means that the score of sig.(2-tailed) was smaller than score of Ho. Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. From those data it can be summarized that there is a significant effect of using comic strips strategy on students’ reading comprehension and writing ability.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore English students’ self-regulated learning and its factors. A quantitative survey method using total sampling techniques was administered toward 118 eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Tembilahan Hulu-Riau. The data were collected directly using a Likert scale questionnaire derived from a careful examination of the works of literature. The data then analyzed using a descriptive mean formula and further interpreted qualitatively to answer the formulated questions. The results showed that students’ self-regulated learning in the English classroom is at the “enough” level. This result was influenced by four factors, namely: The support of environment, technology, confidence, and a desire to learn independently.
