Abstract

Humor is the nature of something or complex situations that give rise to a desire to be together. Simply put humor is defined as something funny. Eysenck cited in Utomo (2009) mention the humor is something that can make laugh. Humor is considered to lead to positive emotions. Humor can make a person more relaxed, not tense, so that the mind can be more concentrate to solve the problem. Teens in completing development tasks known to use humor as part of coping in resolving the problem. Content in the humor involves the presence of such intelligence emotional intelligence. This study is aimed to see the correlatiom between emotional intelligence and humor in adolescents. Participants in this study involving 300 adolescents aged 11-20 years in Jakarta. Measurements in this study using a instrument that measuring emotional intelligence and measuring humor. The results of this study found a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and humor neutral.Keywords: Humor, emotional intelligence, adolescence

Abstract

The decrease of juvenile delinquency is affected by religion values education, and vice versa. The religion values education is one tool of moral guidance to bring welfare and peace for mankind by controlling self from arrogance, meanness, asocial behavior, and other forms of negative social behaviors. The juvenile delinquency is behavior of breaking social, legal, and religion norms which is conducted by people under age of 18 years. The study assessed 96 middle-adolescent of Y high school with characteristics of 15-18 year old and various religious backgrounds. This study used correlational design of non-experimental quantitative method, and the results were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment coefficient of correlation. The results were r (94)=-.923, p < .05, which showed a strong, significant, negative correlation between the religion value education and the juvenile delinquency.Keyword: religion value education, juvenile delinquency, middle adolescence.

Abstract

In the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, it has an impact on the field of education which results in changes in the learning system which carried out using a distance learning system. The distance learning system performed by students and teachers has negative impacts and positive impacts. One of the positive impacts is students can learn to feel grateful for the conditions they experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. When students have gratitude, students can enjoy experiences and difficult situations during the COVID-19 pandemic which makes them have to do distance learning as a positive thing and it will lead to life satisfaction in students. Therefore, this study aims to determine the role of gratitude on life satisfaction in middle adolescents in senior high school during distance learning. This study was conducted on 1298 senior high school students aged 15-18 years old who are doing distance learning in Indonesia. The research method used is a non-experimental quantitative research method. The gratitude measure instrument used is The Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6) and the student’s life satisfaction measure instrument used is the Multidimensional Student’s Life Satisfaction Scale (MSLSS). Based on the Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis through the structural model of gratitude on student’s life satisfaction, the results obtained in this study with t-value = 14.56 > 1.96 or R2 value is 51%. Thus, gratitude has a positive and significant role of 51% on life satisfaction in middle adolescents in senior high school during distance learning.

Abstract

During COVID-19 pandemic, learning activities were carried out online at home using online media. According to the college student's point of view, distance learning is considered less effective and boring so that using humor in the teaching and learning process is considered to increase the teaching effectiveness of lecturers in the classroom. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between humor style and collage student’s perceptions of the teaching effectiveness of lecturers in distance learning. This research is quantitative research using non-probability sampling techniques, namely convenience sampling and snowball sampling. Participants in this study were 396 college students with age range of 18-25 years old. The measuring instrument used in this research were Humor Styles Questionnaire (HSQ) from Martin et al. (2003) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Laia (2014) and Teaching Effectiveness Scale (TES) from Calaguas (2013). The results of this study indicated that there was a positive and significant relationship between humor style on the self-enhancing humor dimension and teaching effectiveness in terms of the college student’s perceptions with a value of r = .287, p = .000 < .05. Other results show that the self-enhancing humor dimension has a positive and significant relationship with variables of teaching effectiveness on the dimensions of personality, subject matter expertise, relational competence with students, professional competence, teaching style, and classroom management style. This means, the higher the lecturer's self-enhancing humor, the higher teaching effectiveness of lecturer.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between subjective well-being and the prosocial behavior of adolescents who participate in student council activities at the high school level. This study uses a non-experimental correlational quantitative method and the sampling technique uses a purposive sampling technique; convenience sampling. Participants in this study involved 387 student council members at the high school level. The measurement tools used in this study are the subjective well-being scale and the prosocial behavior scale adapted by the Faculty of Psychology, University of Tarumanagara. The analysis used in this study is non-parametric analysis and using the Spearman rho correlation through the SPSS version 15 program. Based on the analysis , the results obtained are r: .215** and p: <.005, the results of this study are that there is a significant relationship between subjective well-being and prosocial behavior in adolescents who participate in student council activities at the high school level.

Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini memegang peranan penting dalam membentuk dasar perkembangan sosial-emosional anak. Interaksi sosial memiliki peran krusial dalam perkembangan anak pada usia ini, karena merupakan fondasi dalam membangun keterampilan sosial, kemampuan komunikasi, dan keterampilan kerjasama. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pentingnya interaksi sosial dalam pendidikan anak usia dini melalui studi kasus di Taman Kanak-Kanak ABC. Penelitian ini akan mengamati bagaimana interaksi sosial antara anak-anak dan dengan guru dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan sosial-emosional mereka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode observasi dan wawancara. Selama periode penelitian, interaksi sosial antara anak-anak dalam kelompok bermain dan dengan guru akan diamati dan dicatat. Selain itu, wawancara akan dilakukan dengan para guru dan orang tua untuk mendapatkan informasi lebih lanjut tentang peran interaksi sosial dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Data dari observasi dan wawancara akan dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi pola interaksi sosial dan dampaknya pada perkembangan anak-anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi sosial memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk keterampilan sosial-emosional anak usia dini. Anak-anak yang terlibat dalam interaksi sosial yang positif dan mendukung cenderung menunjukkan perkembangan keterampilan sosial yang lebih baik, seperti kemampuan berbagi, berempati, dan bekerja sama dengan teman sebaya. Selain itu, interaksi sosial dengan guru juga memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam perkembangan kemampuan komunikasi dan kepercayaan diri anak-anak. Kesimpulannya, interaksi sosial memiliki peranan krusial dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Melalui interaksi sosial yang positif dan mendukung, anak-anak dapat mengembangkan keterampilan sosial, kemampuan komunikasi, dan keterampilan kerjasama yang esensial dalam kehidupan mereka. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan anak usia dini harus memberikan perhatian khusus pada menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendorong dan mendukung interaksi sosial yang positif. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang pentingnya interaksi sosial dalam pendidikan anak usia dini dan memberikan panduan bagi pendidik dan orang tua dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan mendukung perkembangan sosial-emosional anak-anak.
