Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh masih rendahnya penguasaan konsep peserta didik disebabkan karena selama ini masih banyak guru yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan guru tidak mengkaitkan pembelajaran kimia dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dari kondisi tersebut maka diperlukan model pembelajaran REACT agar dapat memacu peserta didik untuk bisa menguasai konsep pembelajaran dengan baik dengan cara mengkaitkan materi pembelajaran dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran REACT terhadap penguasaan konsep peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang berdesain “pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group”. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA di kabupaten Kuningan pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan soal tes dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memiliki penguasaan konsep yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol jika dilihat dari hasil posttest. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji regresi linier sederhana memperoleh nilai signifikansi yang lebih kecil dari sig kritis. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran REACT berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep peserta didik pada materi laju reaksi. Kata kunci: Model pembelajaran REACT, Penguasaan konsep, Laju reaksi.

Abstract

Creativity is an individual's ability to create novelty in the form of ideas or tangible works. In order to enhance creativity among students, community service has initiated activities that utilize paper waste to foster creativity, such as handicrafts. The primary objective is to reduce paper waste accumulation while fostering creativity among 5th and 6th-grade students. The method used involves hands-on activities where students transform sheets of newspaper into pencil holders, teaching them the value of recycling and creative problem-solving. The results show that students demonstrated both cognitive creativity traits, such as originality and flexibility, and non-cognitive traits, like curiosity and motivation. The program not only addresses waste management issues but also helps students develop practical skills, raising environmental awareness and instilling values of sustainability. Through this initiative, the creative potential of students is enhanced while contributing to environmental preservation.
