Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the success of increasing student activity at SMB Viriya Dhamma through the Jātaka story. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model. The research was carried out at SMB Viriya Dhamma Wates, Semarang Regency. The research subjects are nine students and two teachers. The data collection techniques and instruments used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The instrument used was student and teacher observation sheets. Data analysis in this study used descriptive quantitative analysis and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the Jātaka story was very effective in increasing the learning activity of SMB Viriya Dhamma students. The Jātaka stories told in this study are the Devadhamma Jātaka, Gāmani Jātaka, and Nalapāna Jātaka. Viriya Dhamma SMB students' active learning can be seen from the results of research which shows an increase in SMB students' learning activities from Pre-Cycle to Cycle II. In the Pre-Cycle, the learning activity of SMB students was 150 and Cycle I increased to 194. In Cycle I, the learning activity of SMB students from 67.36% increased by 94.44% in Cycle II. In Cycle I it got a value of 194 and in Cycle II it increased by 272. The success of the actions taken in this study is influenced by several factors, including the condition of students, attendance, teachers, peers

Abstract

Education is a process of developing reasoning power, skills, and morality to develop the potential of every human being. Education makes a very big contribution to the progress of a nation. The efforts to improve education in Indonesia are by moving all the components that make up a quality system in education. The research used in this study is library research or library research, namely research conducted by collecting data or scientific writings that aim to be research objects or data collection that is of a literary nature. The discussion in this study was carried out using the checklist or synthesize checklist method which was derived from text, context, and discourse. The inquiry learning model with the ehipassiko concept has not been implemented yet because there is still a lack of understanding of how these two concepts work. Even though these two concepts have a lot in common, it is still very difficult to do because it requires proper understanding and strategies that are in accordance with these two concepts. So that the collaboration or combination of these two teaching models will be successful.

Abstract

Konsep memaafkan seringkali dibenturkan dengan teori Karma dalam agama Buddha sehingga menimbulkan stigma di masyarakat bahwa maaf tidak perlu dilakukan karena ada hukum Karma yang pasti bekerja. Faktanya, ajaran Buddha memiliki konsep memaafkan yang tidak berseberangan dengan teori Karma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kekuatan memaafkan dalam perspektif Buddhis berdasarkan khotbah-khotbah Buddha yang terdapat dalam lima Nikāya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kepustakaan dengan mengkaji sumber primer dan sekunder. Sumber primer yang dimaksud adalah khotbah-khotbah Buddha terpilih yang terdapat dalam kitab Dīgha Nikāya, Majjhima Nikāya, Saṃyutta Nikāya, Anguttara Nikāya, dan Khuddaka Nikāya. Sumber sekunder meliputi artikel dan karya ilmiah yang relevan dengan topik. Data yang terkumpul dikaji melalui beberapa tahapan, yakni: 1) Menghimpun literatur yang berhubungan dengan konsep memaafkan; 2) Mengklasifikasikan buku-buku berdasar dokumen primer dan sekunder; 3) Mengutip dari berbagai literatur; 4) Mengelompokkan data sesuai dengan bagiannya masing-masing; 5) Menganalisis data yang sudah dikelompokkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebuah konsep kekuatan memaafkan dalam pandangan Buddhis yang tersirat dalam lima Nikāya. Memaafkan dalam pandangan Buddhis dimengerti sebagai sikap sadar dan bijaksana untuk tidak terjerat dalam ikatan kebencian yang berkelanjutan. Sikap ini memberikan dampak positif bagi orang yang meminta maaf dan orang yang dimaafkan sehingga dapat hidup damai dan bahagia.
