Abstract

Pandemi virus corona (covid-19) memberikan dampak yang cukup besar pada dunia pendidikan. Pembelajaran dari rumah secara daring membuat pendidik dan peserta didik mengalami masalah khususnya dalam proses pemahaman konsep-konsep pembelajaran yang abstrak, seperti matematika. Pendidik membutuhkan berbagai inovasi agar pembelajaran dapat berjalan maksimal dan efektif. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan oleh pendidik adalah dengan memberikan video pembelajaran. Namun kondisi tersebut juga dirasa belum terlalu efektif karena isi video belum maksimal menjelaskan konsep. Untuk itu dibuat video pembelajaran pada materi peluang yang memuat tidak hanya konsep dasar, tetapi juga contoh dan latihan soal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran berbantu video pada materi peluang dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 13 peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Islam Terpadu Al Uswah Banyuwangi. Instrumen bantu yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes yang digunakan untuk mengetahui pemahaman peserta didik setelah dilakukan pembelajaran berbantu video. Video pembelajaran pada penelitian ini hanya memberikan efek 26,9% peserta didik yang dapat menyelesaikan soal dengan proses dan hasil yang benar. Namun diketahui pula bahwa 53,85% peserta didik dapat menentukan titik sampel dengan menggunakan diagram pohon atau tabel dan 76,92% peserta didik dapat menyelesaikan soal dengan rumus peluang menggunakan ruang sampel dan titik sampel yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya. Artinya beberapa proses telah dapat dipahami oleh peserta didik dengan baik melalui video pembelajaran.

Abstract

Decoction water betel leaf is a traditional Balinese medicine containing the active compound hydroxychavikol, has antioxidant and antidyslipemic activity. From the results of the study it was reported that decoction water of betel leaf contains the active compound hydroxycavicol (HC). The active compound hiroksikavikol has activity as an antioxidant and antidyslipidemia. As an anti-oxidant, it can scavenge ROS and inhibit the activity of free radicals. As an antidyslipidemia, it can normalize lipid metabolism by lowering total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL and VLDL levels and increasing blood serum HDL levels. Oxidative stress and dyslipidemia are major risk factors for heart disease caused by atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is the occurrence of plaque formation in the lumen of blood vessels triggered by oxidative stress through endothelial cell dysfunction, inflammation and lipid peroxidation. Oxidative stress causes endothelial cell dysfunction, increased contractility, VSMC growth, monocyte invasion and lipid peroxidation, inflammation and increased deposition of extracellular protein matrix. Based on these things, it was concluded that HC loloh boiled water of betel leaf has antioxidant and antidyslipidemic activity to prevent heart disease.

Abstract

Tempe is a fermented soybean product widely known in Indonesia and various countries, with Rhizopus oligosporus fungus as the main microorganism involved in the fermentation process. This study aims to observe the growth of Rhizopus oligosporus fungus isolated from tempeh using the dilution method and grown on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media. The research process began with taking tempeh samples which were then subjected to serial dilutions. Next, the diluted samples were inoculated into PDA media and incubated at 37°C to facilitate fungal growth. Observations were made periodically to monitor the development of fungal colonies and the morphology formed. In the observation, it was found that Rhizopus oligosporus fungal colonies growing on PDA media were grayish-white with a distinctive filamentous hyphal structure. This indicates that PDA media strongly supports the growth of the fungus. In addition, the dilution method used in this study proved effective in separating fungal colonies, thus facilitating the morphological identification of each colony. The serial dilution method is very important in isolating microorganisms present in tempeh samples. By separating the fungal colonies from each other, researchers can observe the development of each colony more clearly and accurately. The results of this study indicate that PDA media is very suitable for supporting the growth of Rhizopus oligosporus and that the serial dilution method is an effective way to isolate this fungus from tempeh. In conclusion, this study proves that serial dilution followed by inoculation on PDA media is an effective method in observing and isolating Rhizopus oligosporus from tempeh. PDA media is able to support optimal fungal growth and allows for clear observation of the colonies and their morphology.
