Abstract

This paper expounds action learning for effective change leadership development using the learning-teaching helix as a paradigm for individual’s introspection. Which consists of five phases—Awareness phase (as certain your strengths and weaknesses). Alignment phase (identify your core competence). Action phase (synthesize your work, business and management skills), Adoption phase (becoming a leader) and Assurance phase (excel as an educator cum coach). In addition, to succeed, the individual has to plan, strategize, prioritize and integrate. As a holistic manager the individual needs to think, feel and do to evolve from continuous action learning to the cycle of teaching for continuous innovation in organizational performance capabilities.

Abstract

Abstract

Joint ventures as one of the many form of strategic alliance are now ubiquitous phenomena in most Asian countries such as Indonesia and others. The trend to establish joint ventures with foreign firms has been growing in popularity since the onset of 1980s. In 2007, the value of realized foreign direct investment in Indonesia had reached USD 9,076.6 million which represented 842 projects (Investment Coordinating Board, Oct. 2007). However, particular data regarding the magnitude of investment in joint ventures are not available because foreign direct investments are not further specified into joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries. The development of joint ventures is more discernible if we turn to the international business arena. Over the past few years more than 5000 joint ventures have been established and the largest world 100 joint ventures represent more than USB 350 billion in combined annual revenues (Bomford, Erns and Fubini, 2004).

Abstract

This article examines the impact of motivation, opportunity, and ability as antecedents of exchanges of information among members of social friendship networks and also the impact on creating membership value and members'loyalty including the influence of the system characteristics. The research method employed descriptive multiple crosssectional designs which yielded 256 responses. The Structured Equation Modelling was used to test the hypotheses. The findings of the research reveal that motivation and ability provide the impetus to exchanges of information whereas opportunity does not. Furthermore, exchanges of information impact members' loyalty through the mediation of membership value and finally the exchanges of information evoke members'loyalty directly. However, only information quality impacts membership value and members'loyalty. The rigor of the research concept will result in better insight to future researchers particularly in designing and implementing members'loyalty program in social friendship networks.
