Abstract

A new species of the pandanus (Freycinetia sessiliflora Rizki) is one species found in the year 2015 on Passi Mount, West Kalimantan. The researchers found the pandanus new species which is very different from other pandanus. The results of skrinning phytochemical leaves of the pandanus (Freycinetia sessiliflora Rizki) containing a compound of a secondary metabolite namely alkaloid , flavonoid , terpenoid-steroid , saponin , phenol and tannin. Based on secondary metabolite compounds which done research to test the activity of the pandanus extract bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Plant extracts pandanus in get maceration with a solvent use of ethanol to achieve an extract will be used to test the activity of obstruent against bacteria Staphylococcus aureus by using the Then it will be the measurement of clear zone formed about paper discs .Analyze by anova data in one direction with the levels of trust 95 %. Based on the research done an obstruent extracts the results of a new species of pandanus against bacteria staphylococcus aureus with an average diameter obstruent concentration 5% of 10,86, mm the concentration of 10 % of 11,46, mm the concentration of 15 % of 11,8, mm the concentration of 20% of 12,24 mm and the highest 25% of 12,9 mm.

Abstract

Freycinetia sessiliflora Rizki is a plant that has secondary metabolites, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids-steroids, saponins, phenols and tannins. This study aims to determine whether there is inhibitory and concentrated ointment extract of thick pandanus leaf of the forest that can inhibit the growth of Stapylococcus epidermidis bacteria. Inhibition testing was carried out by disk diffusion method with different concentrations of 5% and 10% concentrations made 9 ointment formulas with a variety of 3 bases namely hydrocarbon base, absorbency base and water soluble base. The results of inhibitory measurements of ethanol extract ointment leaves of pandanus leaves are good or have the greatest value to the smallest inhibitory effect on the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria with an average diameter of inhibition at F6 of 4.11 mm, F1 of 2.78 mm, F3 of 2.68 mm, F5 of 2.47 mm, F4 of 2.25 mm, F2 of 2.23 mm, F7 of 1.29, F8 of 1.13 and F9 of 0.86 mm.

Abstract

The use of garlic often only makes use of the root part, while the garlic skin is often thrown away without optimal utilization and ends up as waste. Garlic skin has the potential to be developed as a treatment, one of which is for cholesterol because it contains phytochemical compounds. Previous studies have shown that using different solvents during the extraction process will produce different secondary metabolites. So the purpose of this study was to find out the secondary metabolites of garlic skin extract (Allium sativum L.) qualitatively when extracted using 5 different solvents. In this research, the method used was phytochemical screening on garlic skin extract (Allium sativun L.). n-Hexane, Ethyl Acetate, Acetone, 96% Ethanol, and Chloroform using remaceration extraction method separately. The results showed that the yield value was 0.90%; 1.34%; 1.00%; 3.90%; 1.20%. The results showed that the n-Hexane extract of garlic (Allium sativum L.) peels contained steroids and terpenoids; ethyl acetate extract contains alkaloids, steroids and terpenoids; acetone extract contains saponins, steroids, terpenoids and tannins; 96% ethanol extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids, and tannins; and finally the chloroform extract of garlic skin contains alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids and tannins. So it can be concluded that the secondary metabolites in garlic peel extract contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, terpenoids and tannins.the study, methods, results and conclusions, can describe qualitatiive and quantitative information.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Daun Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.)) merupakan anggota sapotaceae yang banyak dibudidayakan terlebih dibudidayakan di pekarangan rumah. Penelitian lain menyatakan bahwa senyawa kimia yang diduga memiliki aktivitas mukolitik adalah saponin, tanin, flavonoid dan alkaloid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol Daun sawo memiliki aktivitas mukolitik atau tidak, sehingga dapat diketahui kebermanfaatannya secara jelas dan ilmiah. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah secara in vitro menggunakan putih telur bebek sebagai dahak buatan dengan membandingkan aktivitas mukolitik dengan konsentrasi formula I 0,5%, formula II 1%, dan formula III 1,5%. Aktivitas mukolitik di uji dengan menggunakan viskometer Brookfield LVT 230 kemudian diukur viskositasnya dan dilakukan pengujian statistik dengan p<0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Aktivitas mukolitik ekstrak etanol Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.)) pada menit ke 60 didapat kan persentase Aktifitas mukolitik konsentrasi ekstrak 0,5 % yaitu 34,6 % , konsentrasi ekstrak 1 % yaitu 35,3 %, konsentrasi ekstrak 1,5 % yaitu 55,3% sedangkan aktivitas mukolitik dari kontrol positif asetilsistein 0,2% pada menit ke 60 yaitu sebesar 60,3% Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.)) menunjukan bahwa memiliki Aktifitas mukolitik dan aktifitas paling baik yaitu pada konsentrasi Ekstrak sawo 1,5% karna memiliki persentase hampir sama dengan Kontrol positif.   Kata Kunci : Mukolitik, ekstrak etanol daun Sawo manila (Manilkara zapota (L.)).
