Abstract

Surabaya is one of big cities in Indonesia. Since the number of industries in Surabaya is increasing, the level of air pollution in Surabaya is also increasing. To deal with this matter, procurement of measuring instruments has been carried out in several locations in Surabaya based on the level of emissions issued by motorized vehicles, but increasing the number of measuring instruments affects the cost significantly. Therefore, the estimation of air pollution will make it easier to determine the level of air pollution in Indonesia. Kalman filter a method to estimate the state variable by using a system model accompanied by a measurement model as the initial value that comprises the prediction stage and the correction stage. The results of this correction stage will be the estimation results. Then it will be compared with the data at some locations. The results obtained are quite accurate at the point of observation with a relatively small error.

Abstract

Increasing safety and product quality, reducing manufacturing cost, minimizing the impact of environment in fault detection system for Nonisothermal Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) are the reason why accurate state estimation is needed. Kalman filter is an estimation algorithm of the stochastic linear dynamical system. Through this work, a modification of Kalman Filter that combines with fuzzy theory, namely Fuzzy Kalman Filter (FKF) is presented to estimate the state variable of Non-Isothermal CSTR. First, we approximate the nonlinear system of CSTR as piecewise linear functions and then change the crisp variable into the fuzzy form. The estimation results are simulated using Matlab. The simulation shows the comparison results, i.e computational time and accuracy, between FKF and Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF). The final result of these case shows that FKF is better than EnKF to estimate the state variable of Nonisothermal CSTR. The error estimation of FKF is 72.9% smaller for estimation of reactans concentration, 39.9% smaller for tank temperature, 76.47% smaller for cooling jacket temperature and the computational time of FKF is 76.47% faster than the computational time of EnKF.

Abstract

Steam drum boiler is an important component of boiler on electric steam power plant which is useful to obtain steam. The obtained steam makes turbine spin. In order to obtain maximal result for the steam power plant (PLTU) 1-2 PT PJB UP Gresik, the water level of steam drum boiler must be 0.7625 m and the temperature of steam drum boiler must be 786 K. Thus, it needs some controller to keep the position of water level and the temperature stable. In this problem, we compare two controllers FLC and FOPID. It can be concluded that FLC works better than FOPID controller. Nevertheless, FOPID controller has faster response time than FLC, i.e. no overshoot and more robust when disturbance is present on the system.

Abstract

Cancer is a disease characterized by uncontrolled cell division and the ability of these cells to invade other tissues, either tissue next to them or not. Cancer treatment process is very diverse. The issue in this paper is about the treatment of cancer that processed by combining radio and anti-angiogenic therapy, which is intended to minimize the size of cancer, by adding control w (dose of radiotherapy) and u (dose of antiangiogenic). By applying Pontryagin minimum principle, the simulation results show that the size of the cancer become the most minimum if given minimum weight of anti-angiogenic (P) therapy is 0.3 and radiotherapy (Q) is 0.015. Which take big effect of this treatment is dose of anti-angiogenic therapy.
