Abstract

Indonesia and in other developing countries. ICT has the ability to cut space and time limitations, especially access to communication and information, which has been a constraint to weak market access for entrepreneurs. One form of information technology that is developing and the current trend is the presence of social media (social media) that were built with the aim of connecting various people through internet media in various places without constraints of space and time. This study aims 1) to analyze the influence of social media as a marketing medium on the accessibility of fish cracker processing industries in Seruyan Hilir District, Seruyan Regency to the market. 2) analyze the relationship between market accessibility and business success. Respondents were taken from the region which is the center of fish cracker processing industry in Seruyan Regency, namely Seruyan Hilir Sub-district using the census method as many as 18 respondents. The analysis uses a partial structural equation model (PLS-SEM) with the main variables namely the use of social media, market accessibility, and business success. Each variable is then measured using several indicators. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that the use of social media has a significant effect on the accessibility of the fish cracker processing industry to the market. The business success is also significantly influenced by the accessibility of the fish cracker processing industry to the market

Abstract

Our sub-sector is the sector that not only plays a role as a producer of meat for the community, but also has an important role in the development of the agricultural sector in general and in the development of livestock. Increasing population and production does not always represent a large profit or income for businesses. In broiler farming, there are several factors that are often faced by breeders, including broiler breeders in Kuala Pembuang City, Seruyan Regency. Uncertain availability and fluctuations in the price of production factors are serious problems that are always faced by farmers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of broiler production in Kuala Pembuang. This research was carried out from February to July 2021, starting from preparation, data analysis to report preparation. In this study, the population was broiler breeders in the city of Kuala Pembuang, especially in Seruyan Hilir and Seruyan Hilir Timur subdistricts, which collected 27 broiler breeders who were actively running a business. Data collection technique uses the census method and data processing uses linear regression analysis method with the help of Eviews 7 software. Based on the research, it was obtained: The significant determinants of broiler chicken production in Kuala Pembuang City were DOC and cages, where the DOC had a positive effect on production, while the cage had a negative effect on broiler production, and the insignificant determinants on broiler chicken production were feed, medicines, and labor use (TKDK and TKLK).Key words: Broiler Chicken, Determinants, Production.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to analyze distribution of fishermen household incomes in Sungai Bakau village in Seruyan Hilir Timur Distric and Sungai Undang in Seruyan Hilir Distric of Seruyan Regency. The methode of this research applied survey method using questioners to gather primary data, the number of respondent in this study is 157 people consisting of fishermen in the village Sungai Bakau 70 people and in the village Sungai Undang 87 people. to analyze distribution of family incomes using coefficient Gini Ratio. The result of the descriptive analysis of the family consumption expenditure  in the village of Sungai Bakau and Sungai Undang shows that household expenditure allocated for food consumption is greater than in the non-food consumption. people's income distribution reflected in the Gini Ratio 0.18197 for Sungai Bakau village and 0.20905 for Sungai Undang, this condition indicated a level of inequality low.

Abstract

           The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of consumer shrimp paste and analyze the position of Zu-Per shrimp paste against competitors in Kuala Pembuang city. This study uses 65 respondents with an accidental sampling. Variable in this study is veriabel respondent characteristics and attributes (size, packaging, taste, purity, aroma, color, and price). respondent characteristic data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, while Zu-Per shrimp paste position against competitors analyzed using correspondence analysis (CA). Characteristics of respondents  shrimp paste in Kuala Pembuang city of the age of majority is included in the cycle of life of older adults and middle age, the rate of primary and secondary education, it does not work (housewives) with an average predominant number of dependents as much as 2-4 person. Based on consumer perception Zu-Per paste has the advantage on the attributes of taste, purity, and color but have weaknesses on the attributes of size, packaging, flavoring, and price than the competitor's product paste.

Abstract

Vegetable production is an agricultural business commodity that is quite in demand by farmers, with limited capital and resources, women farmers' wives must help their husbands to become vegetable traders and sell in the markets of the city of Kuala Pembuang. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the socio-economic characteristics of women vegetable sellers on income contribution. This research was carried out in the City of Kuala Pembuang, from July to October 2022. The method used in this study was the census method with a total of 60 female vegetable sellers as respondents, with the sample criteria being female farmers' wives. Data analysis used is income analysis followed by a binary logit regression model, where Y which is a contribution has two dependent variables (dichotomy), and consists of 8 independent variables (age, number of dependents, education, length of household, farming experience, distance to market, income of vegetable sellers, and income of family members). The results showed that there were three socio-economic characteristic variables that had a significant effect on the income contribution, namely the number of dependents, the income of women traders and the income of family members.

Abstract

Kabupaten Seruyan merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang memiliki potensi besar di bidang perikanan, baik perikanan darat atau perikanan laut yang tersebar hampir di seluruh Kecamatan dan Kecamatan Seruyan Hilir dan Pekerjaan menjadi nelayan didominasi oleh kaum laki-laki, dan ibu- ibu rumah tangga memiliki kewajiban mengurus rumah tangga dan menunggu anak di rumah saja, sehingga tidak banyak alternative pekerjaan yang mampu mereka lakukan untuk memiliki penghasilan tambahan. Rendahnya tingkat pendidikan yang dimiliki dan ditambah kurangnya pengetahuan ibu-ibu rumah tangga terhadap prospek usaha yang bisa mereka lakukan. Adapun kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada masyarakat khususnya istri-istri nelayan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dalam mengolah produk olahan ikan sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah produk tersebut, mengolah variasi menu olahan ikan dan menumbuhkan semangat berwirausaha bagi ibu-ibu rumah tangga. Metode yang di gunakan adalah metode pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif untuk mendapatkan tujuan dan hasil yang di inginkan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan olahan ikan berjalan dengan baik dan tanggapan ibu-ibu rumah tangga sangat responsif, hal ini bisa dilihat dari antusias ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang ikut berpartisipasi aktif dan langsung mempraktekkan apa yang didapat mereka dari hasil pelatihan, dan harapan mereka supaya mendapatkan pelatihan yang serupa untuk kepentingan peningkatan olahan ikan di rumah tangganya.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the production capacity, marketing, and business management of the "Mandiri" Fisherwomen Group (KWN) in Sungai Undang Village through the application of digital marketing and the standardization of shrimp paste products. The activities included training on packaging design, online marketing, financial bookkeeping using Android-based applications, and assistance in obtaining business permits such as NIB, PIRT, and Halal certification. As a result, KWN "Mandiri" members demonstrated significant improvements in their business management skills, with higher quality shrimp paste products and broader market reach. The acquired legal permits have opened up access to wider markets, while the entrepreneurial motivation instilled has strengthened the members' drive to develop their business. This program successfully empowered KWN "Mandiri" to compete in more competitive markets, enhancing their welfare and making a positive contribution to the local economy.

Abstract

The village of Regei Lestari, located in Teluk Sampit Subdistrict, faces significant economic and environmental challenges due to poorly managed coconut waste. This community service program aims to empower the wives of farmers, particularly members of KUB Harapan Jaya, through the implementation of the zero waste concept, transforming coconut waste into value-added products such as composters, nata de coco, and kokedama crafts. The program's implementation methods include socialization, training, and mentoring focused on enhancing management knowledge and skills as well as waste processing techniques. The results of the program show a significant increase in participants' knowledge and skills, which has the potential to improve family economic conditions and reduce negative environmental impacts. This program is essential because it not only enhances the economic welfare of the community but also promotes environmental sustainability through better waste management. In conclusion, the program successfully achieved its objectives in empowering the community and providing long-term benefits to Regei Lestari Village.

Abstract

Household food security among pineapple farmers is one of the critical issues in the development of the agribusiness sector, particularly in East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan. Although pineapples are one of the region's leading commodities with a production of 336.4 tons in 2022, their contribution to improving farmer welfare remains suboptimal. This study aims to examine the existing condition of household food security among farmers, the role of gender, and the empowerment of farmers' wives in East Kotawaringin Regency. The research was conducted in five districts with the highest pineapple production using the purposive sampling method, with 296 respondents determined using the Yamane Formula. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to identify socio-economic characteristics, levels of food security, gender inclusion, and the empowerment of farmers' wives. The results show that 71.62% of pineapple farmer households fall under the food-secure category, while 23.99% are slightly food insecure, and 4.39% are moderately food insecure. The leadership dimension contributes the most to the empowerment of farmers' wives (30.97%), followed by dimensions of production, income, resources, and time. The main challenges include low education levels, limited access to agricultural extension services, and gender-based barriers. This study emphasizes the importance of inclusive policies for women's empowerment in pineapple agribusiness to enhance food security and the sustainable welfare of farmer households.

Abstract

Empowering women in the context of agricultural sustainability is an important and relevant issue. However, there are challenges and obstacles that need to be addressed in efforts to empower women farmers. Therefore, an in-depth analysis of the roles, challenges, and potentials of coconut farmer's wives in women's empowerment is necessary. The aim of this research is to evaluate the roles of coconut farmer's wives based on their potentials and the challenges they face, with the goal of supporting the sustainability of coconut farming. A Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) framework combined with an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) framework is used to analyze the perceptions of experts regarding the roles of coconut farmer's wives in the research location. The research findings indicate that the most prominent threat to the role of women farmers is the frequent changes in agricultural policies that can affect prices and the lack of training programs for women coconut farmers. Meanwhile, the prominent weaknesses affecting the role of women coconut farmers in the research location are the frequent limitations in accessing productive resources such as capital, land, technology, and training. The results obtained from this research can provide knowledge and understanding to various stakeholders regarding the most crucial issues to consider in formulating policies to enhance the role of women farmers
