Abstract

The success indicators of land reclamation can be seen in the presence of plants and animals. The more types of plants and animals that can live and reproduce, the better the condition of the land ecosystem. One of the indicators is the presence of herpetofauna and mammals, so this study aims to determine the diversity of wild animals consisting of herpetofauna, in this case, are reptiles and amphibians, and to determine the diversity of mammals in the area of PT. Refined Bangka Tin (PT. RBT). The research method was the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) for collecting herpetofauna data and the Path Transect method for collecting data on mammals. The results showed that seven species of reptiles were found with a diversity of 1.51, while there were three types of amphibians with a diversity of 1.04. The diversity of reptiles and amphibians based on the Shannon-Wiener diversity index is moderate. There are four species of mammals with a diversity of 1.12 based on the Shannon-Wiener diversity index value that the diversity of mammals is moderate.

Abstract

PT. Aneka Tambang has reclaimed land due to gold production activities. Reclamation land is a process whereby the damaged land is repaired to its natural state. Indicators of succession can be showed in the presence of plants and animals. Birds are a good indicator for assessing biodiversity in a region, because can occupy a large habitat of near the top of the food chain. The spread of plant seeds can be done by birds and mammals through its feces. Identification and observation of bird and mammal diversity can be used to improve the conservation of birds and mammals in the area. The purpose of this research was to study the diversity of birds and mammals. The method used were Indices Ponctuels dAbondance(IPA) method for birdwatching and transect lines for mammalian observation. Result showed 33 speciesof birds and 9 species of mammals were found in this study. Abstract

One of the primitive primates and the smallest nocturnal is Mentilin or Tarsius. Mentilin (Tarsius bancanus) is an endemic animal scattered on the islands of Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bangka and Belitung. Mentilins are protected animals and are listed in CITES Appendix II. The existence of forest degradation on Bangka Island due to illegal logging, conversion of land to plantation land, and illegal tin mining by the community and companies on a large scale has caused the mentilin’s habitat to decrease. This study's purpose was to determine the total population of mentilin and determine the habitat of mentilin in the Pelawan Forest. The method used is line transect and vegetation analysis. The results of this study were a total of 6 Mentilin found from two groups and a tree-level diversity of 1.67; Pole 2.48; 3.41 saplings and 3.40 seedlings. Mentilin density in Pelawan Forest is 21.4 mentilin per km2, with a sex ratio of 1:2 Dominated by Pelawan Plants.
