Abstract

Law Number 26/2007 about Spatial Planning has been dedicating a spatial plan sound disaster mitigation. South Buru District, which as splitting district from Buru District, currently preparing spatial plan. This paper intends to conduct a risk analysis of the earthquake disaster that will be used to evaluate the concept of spatial plan of South Buru District. Risk analysis concist of set of analysis such as prone, vulnerability and risk analysis to earthquake disasters. Based on these analysis, indicates the level of risk to earth quake in the majority of South Buru area is low. Comparison between the risk map with the concept of spatial plan indicates that the placement locations of major activities in spatial concepts have been in accordance with the risk of earthquake.Keyword : earthquake, prone to disaster, vulnerability, risk analysis, spatial planning

Abstract

Scarcity of resources and environmental quality degradation stimulatedgovernment policy toward a new concept of Eco-Industial Park inmanaging and developing industrial estate in Indonesia. For applyingthe concept of EIP need conducted measurement of recent industrialestate status to EIP. This Article aim to develop a measurementinstrument and to measure some selected industrial estates.Measurement using developed instrument indicate that most industrialestastes have low status. The low status is generally influenced by thelowering of value at enviromental management and product exchangeindicators.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Jakarta-Bogor commuter rail line on the intensity of residential area development around the stations and its potential in supporting transit-oriented development in the future. The research highlights the crucial role of the commuter train in integrating various regions, creating networks that influence regional development, particularly in areas around the stations. Qualitative methodology is employed, including field observations and semi-structured interviews with stakeholders such as real estate developers, property agents, and government institutions. The findings indicate that the commuter train significantly affects the development of low-density housing around the stations. This underscores the need for government oversight to manage the rapid urbanization in these areas by promoting the realization of high-density residential areas supported by various spatial functions, as prerequisites for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) in the Jabodetabek region. The study recommends revising spatial planning around the stations to encourage a synergistic approach between public transportation and urban area development, as well as urban redevelopment or revitalization.

Abstract

Liquid waste management in the palm oil industry plays an essential role in minimizing environmental impacts and promoting the application of the circular economy concept. This research analyzed effective strategies for liquid waste management through a case study at two palm oil mills in Riau Province. Both mills implemented palm oil mill effluent (POME) treatment technology by converting it into renewable energy in the form of biogas, which was utilized either in biogas power plants (PLTBg) or directly as boiler fuel (co-firing). The results indicated that this technology was effective in reducing environmental impacts, particularly through lowering greenhouse gas emissions, while also improving energy use efficiency in both mills. The applied waste management strategy was based on the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, and recovery, consistent with the circular economy framework. The environmental, financial, and social benefits derived from this approach are expected to encourage and serve as a reference for the broader adoption of this technology in other palm oil mills, thereby contributing to the realization of a circular economy in the palm oil industry.
