Abstract

Backgroud: Cayenne pepper or Capsicum frutescens L. is a plant wich very popular all over the world. Banana peel has been considered as garbage and smells, there are many chemicals that contain elements of potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and sodium brpotensi to be used as fertilizer. Method: This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with treatment carried out in the form of fertilizers Plantain skin (P). Fertilization Plantain skin consists of four stage treatment, namely: P0 (0 ml/polybag), P1 (200 ml/polybag), P2 (350 ml/polybag), P3 (500 ml/polybag). From the observed level of treatment, three replications were made so that there are 12 samples in the study. Results: Cayenne pepper plant growth with the highest value on plant height, number of leaves and number of branches acquired in treatment P3 (500 ml fertilizer plantain skin ). While the generative period banana peels fertilizer treatments showed that there is a significant influence on the production of fruit and weeks 8, 10 and 12 and the weight of the fruit at harvest time. The number of pieces of cayenne pepper with the highest value obtained in treatment P3 (500 ml fertilizer plantain skin). Conclusion: Treatment P3 (500ml fertilizer plantain skin) is a treatment wich best during the vegetative growth of plant height, number of leaves and number of branches cayenne pepper. Moreover P3 is also the best treatment on fruit number and fruit weight during the generative crop.

Abstract

Background: The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is influence of temperature and storage time to vitamin A and vitamin C content in gandaria. Method: This study was an experimental study using Completely Randomized Design (RAL), with a combination of cold and room temperature treatments and storage duration (1, 4, 7, and 10 days). Each treatment was repeated three times. The parameters observed were vitamin A and vitamin C content of gandaria. Analysis of vitamin A and C content using UV-Vis Spectrophotometric method. The data obtained were analyzed with ANOVA and continued with Duncan Test. Results: The results showed that temperature and storage time had an effect on vitamin A and vitamin C content of gandaria. The highest decrease in vitamin A content was found in storage at room temperature for 10 days that was 21.69%, while in cold temperature only 15.36%. The content of vitamin C in gandaria stored at room temperature for 10 days decreased 35.05%, while in cold temperature only 21.03%. Conclusion: The longer the storage and the high temperature, the levels of vitamin A and vitamin C decreases.

Abstract

Background: Gandaria fruit on the island of Ambon has benefits if the sale value can be used as raw material for the manufacture of Nata products. The making of Nata Gandaria fruit with the help of Acetobacter xylinum microorganisms, the role of microbes to break down glucose into cellulose or fiber that is important for the human body. Methods: To know the length of fermentation to know the effect of fiber content of Gandaria nata, then tested on fiber content of nata Gandaria fruit that has been fermented for 10 days and 12 days. Result: Based on the test results using gravimetry fiber content method known nata fermentation time can increase fiber content. The highest increasing fiber content at nata occurred on day 12 with an average fiber content of 0.45% and the lowest occurred on fermentation day 10 with an average fiber content of 0.35%. Conclusion: The duration of fermentation has an effect on the fiber content of gandaria fruit (Bouea macrophylla griff). The duration of fermentation that produces gandaria fruit nata (Bouea macrophylla griff) with the highest fiber content is on the 12th day while the fermentation time that produces the gandaria fruit (Bouea macrophylla griff) with the least fiber content is the 10th day

Abstract

Background: One reason students tend to score below the KKM is the lack of understanding of the material provided by teachers and students less actively involved in the learning process. Method: This research uses Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model and the Student Sheet (LKS) media. This study looks at the improvement of students' learning outcomes on the concept of the VIII grade system of SMP Negeri 5 Ambon by applying the Problem Based Instruction based LKS model. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Ambon. Result: Implementation of Problem Based Instruction based learning model (LKS) based on LKS can improve biology learning result. Conclusion: Implementation of Problem Based Instruction based learning model can improve student learning outcomes on the concept of Respiratory System of Class VIII4 SMP Negeri 5 Ambon.
