Abstract

Background: Education and teaching focusing on the interaction between educators with educated or teachers with students. The interaction of teachers and teaching in improving student learning outcomes especially on biological materials, desperately needs attention, motivation, and interest. It almost entirely uses a good teaching style. Methods: This study was conducted for 1 month starting from 05th of November until 05th of December 2016. The purpose of this study is to influence of teacher’s teaching style (Variable X) and motivation of student learning outcomes in Biology at SMP Hang Tuah Lantamal IX Ambon by taking sample of 35 respondents, are the students of class VIII. Results: The results showed that there is a significant influence or perfect correlation between teacher teaching styles on the motivation of learning results of human’s blood circulation system in grade VIII of SMP Hang Tuah Lantamal IX Ambon. It is proven by the product moment correlation value of pearson rarithematic = 1.00 when compared with rtable = 0.334 and according to table interpretation of Pearson correlation coefficient. Conclusion: Thus the hypothesis H1 which states there is a significant influence between teacher teaching styles on student learning outcomes motivation.

Abstract

Background: The nails are plants that are often consumed by the community because they are effective in curing various diseases such as cough, asthma, fever, headache, diarrhea, and dysentery. Different cooking processes can affect the nutritional content of a food ingredient, one of which is vitamin A. Method: This type of research is comparative, namely to compare the content of vitamin A found in ferns (Diplazium esculentum (Retz) Sw.) Based on the cooking process, namely boiling, steaming and stirring. Location of analysis of vitamin A content in the Basic Chemistry laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Pattimura University. The subjects of the study were 4 g of ferns extract, each of which was carried out based on the cooking process, namely stir-fry, boiled and steamed. Results: There is an effect of the cooking process on the content of vitamin A on ferns. The highest vitamin A content is found in the type of stir-fry cooking which is as much as 0,0594%, the type of steamed cooking is 0,0442% and the type of boiled cooking is 0,0243%. Sauteed vegetables have relatively low water content than those boiled or steamed. Conclusion: The highest content of vitamin A in vegetable ferns (Diplazium escelentum (Retz.) Sw.) Was found in the cooking process of the type of stirring with a vitamin A content of 0.0594 with a duration of 10 minutes

Abstract

Background: The STAD model is to motivate students to support each other and help one another in mastering the abilities taught by the teacher. Crosswords are a game of sharpening the brain where we have to fill in the blank spaces (in the form of white boxes) with the letters that form a word based on the instructions given. Method: Design of experimental research with the type of research used is descriptive comparative. The research subjects were the eighth grade students of Ambon 1 Junior High School, totaling 26 students. The instruments used were initial test and final test questions, observation sheets, student worksheets and group worksheets. Results: Research shows that the application of the STAD Cooperative type learning model with Cross Puzzle media can improve student learning outcomes. On average all aspects of value have increased. Can be seen in the achievement of the estimated student score of 83.46%. Continued hypothesis testing using the t-test with the value of thit> ttab (2.27> 2.01) thus there are differences in the improvement of student learning outcomes using the STAD type cooperative learning model with a crossword puzzle media. Conclusion: There are differences in the application of the STAD learning model with crossword media and discovery learning learning models of motion systems concepts in humans to improve learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMPN 1 Ambon, it is evident that the results of t-test analysis where t count> t table that the STAD model with media crossword puzzles is more effective for improving student learning outcomes than the Discovery Learning model

Abstract

Background: Inquiry method is a method that can stimulate students to find their own answers to problems that students face in class. Through this learning method students can mobilize all abilities and knowledge they have, in finding answers to existing problems, so students can think critically in the learning process. Method: This study was conducted in class VII1 in the Kartika Middle School in Ambon. This study uses descriptive analysis that is used to determine critical thinking skills and cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes of students. Results: The study showed that mastery of cell concepts in students before the application of the Inquiry method combined with tactics tricks when asking was very low. This can be seen from the percentage of the average score obtained by students in the initial test which is 31% which includes failed qualifications because it does not reach the KKM which is set at 75. After the application of the Inquiry method combined with tactics when asking questions, the results of the formative tests obtained by students increase with the average percentage of achievement is 71.51%. To assess students 'critical thinking skills through worksheets and observation sheets, the results show that there is an increase in students' critical thinking skills. Conclusion: The application of the Inquiry method combined with tactics when asking questions can improve students' critical thinking skills and achievement of learning outcomes in cell concept biology.
