Abstract

In manufacturing, especially offshore, welding is one of the joining processes (steel) with very tight specification. Preparation time (fitting) both steel material which will be connected, especially when the material cutting process does not allow for mistakes, so when they do tuning of both material be spliced happen distance (gap) in excess of the standard, then the buttering method that does not eat a lot of time, wasted materials and dimensions of objects so it still makes tolerance in otherwise require. Buttering is the adding process of material in welding. It is applied on one or both sides to be connected, with the aim of giving the distance (gap) between the two materials will be in connection with welding processes meet the requirements of the standard (ASME Sec IX, 2010)1. This study aimed to indicate the effect of the buttering in welding. And the variety of wide buttering is 10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm. Material will be joined with welding process Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). In the test, material is low carbon steel type SA 36. Tests performed were tensile test, impact test, and the test macro etching. By those tests, will be Investigated what the differences between welding without buttering and with buttering. And the final results showed the addition of wide buttering decreased tensile strength, which declines in linear: buttering width 10 mm = 413.47 MPa , buttering width 15 mm = 397.48 MPa , buttering width 20 mm = 390.07 MPa. In impact strength, it increased, which increasing linear: width 10 mm = 1.82 J/mm², 15 mm width buttering = 1.90 J/mm², 20 mm width buttering = 1.94 J/mm². And in macro test, it was shown that a Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) in buttering spread larger than HAZ in material without buttering.

Abstract

This paper is dealing with the engineering design of a gang drilling machine with jig & fixtures to make a prototype machine. This effort has been done in order to solve the problem which aroused in small business enterprises producing birdcages. The problem was how to minimize the production time in making a lot of holes that have same distance and straightness. Hopefully, the prototype machine can help the small business enterprises to increase their production rate.The design engineering process has been carried out by variant approximation on dowel pin modular fixtures in order to simplify fixtures design. CAD CAM software has also been used as fixtures synthesized method including geometric analysis and three dimensional fixtures assembling. The resulting prototype machine can be well operated and based on the running test, it can be concluded that the greater the motor rotation the greater the power needed. As for teak wood, at 250 rpm motor rotation the power needed is 26.5 watt, and at 400 rpm the motor needs power of 43.6 watt while at 600 rpm the motor needs power of 600 watt. The power consumption is also depends on the type of material, the better the mechanical properties of the materials, the higher the power consumption. For cast iron, the 400 rpm motor rotation needs power as high as 569.7 watt. This prototype of gang drilling machine needs power of 350 watt to make five holes on teak wood while ordinary drilling machine needs total power of 1350 watt.

Abstract

Pencemaran udara adalah keadaan dimana kualitas udara menjadi rusak dan tercemar oleh zat yangmembahayakan kesehatan manusia. Salah satu gas yang merupakan pencemar udara yaitu karbon dioksida (CO2).Pada penelitian ini kami akan membuat alat untuk mendeteksi gas karbon dioksida sebagai informasi pencemaranudara pada ruangan tertutup.Untuk mendeteksi gas karbon dioksida kami menggunakan sensor MQ-135 danmikrokontroler arduino nano sebagai prosesor pengendali alat ini. Pada penelitian kali ini kamis memakai metodepenelitian CDIO yaitu conceive, design, implement, dan operate.

Abstract

Biomassa menjadi salah satu pilihan alternatif pengganti bahan bakar fosil yang mulai terbatas jumlahnya. Biomassa masuk kedalam kategori sumber energi terbarukan, dan saat ini banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan bakar untuk plant – plant pembangkit daya dan pengolahan. Seperti yang terdapat pada PG KREBET BARU II, yang menggunakan ampas tebu menjadi bahan bakar untuk mengolah nira menjadi gula. Ampas tebu (bagasse) merupakan limbah dalam bentuk serat yang dihasilkan dari penggilingan tebu. Serat tersebut yang digunakan sebagai bahan bakar pengolahan gula di PG KREBET BARU II. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada analisa kebutuhan jumlah ampas tebu sebagai bahan bakar yang dihasilkan pada proses produksi gula pada tahun 2018 dan pemecahan permasalahan pada kekurangan produksi ampas tebu (Bagasse) untuk bahan bakar. Analisa dilakukan dengan menghitung performa boiler berbahan bakar ampas tebu sebagai. Analisa dimulai dengan menghitung nilai kalor ampas tebu, nilai heat loss dalam boiler, dan efisiensi boiler dengan direct method, serta perhitungan jumlah kebutuhan ampas tebu yang diperlukan. Dari hasil perhitungan akan dilakukan analisa mengenai ampas yang ideal untuk mencukupi kebutuhan bahan bakar boiler. Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh kebutuhan ampas tebu yang ideal yaitu ampas yang memiliki kandungan air sebanyak 45 % sehingga mampu meningkatkan efisiensi boiler dari 65 % menjadi 70 % serta mengurangi konsumsi bahanbakar dari 56865 kg ampas/jam menjadi 47838 kg ampas/jam dan menghasilkan surplus ampas sebesar 300 kg/jam. Sedangkan dengan analisa penentuan nilai persen ampas sebesar28,5 % menghasilkan surplus ampas tebu sebesar 297 kg/jam dari kekurangan ampas sebanyak 8,7 Ton/jam pada produksi gula tahun 2018

Abstract

Mekanisme produksi produk halal telah diatur UU No. 33 tahun 2014 tentang Jaminan Produk Halal. Keberadaan sertifikat halal memberikan rasa aman bagi konsumen terutama bagi keluarga muslim. Pentingnya mengkonsumsi produk halal harus ditekankan sejak dini. Pengetahuan tentang produk halal harus diajarkan pada siswa-siswi sekolah dasar. Surabaya memiliki 650 sekolah dasar yang menyebar merata dimana kecamatan Rungkut memiliki 24 sekolah dasar. Mitra kami adalah SDN Penjaringansari 2, SDN Rungkut Kidul 1 dan SDN Kedung Baruk Surabaya. Setiap sekolah dasar memiliki beberapa kantin yang menjual produk makanan dan minuman. Namun, kantin tersebut belum bisa menjamin bahwa produk makanan dan minuman yang dijual belum memiliki sertifikat halal. Selain itu, konsep kantin masih bersifat konvensional yang berfungsi jual beli. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membangun kantin kejujuran yang berbasis halal. Dengan kehadiran kantin kejujuran berbasis halal pada sekolah dasar masing-masing mendukung Pendidikan karakter integritas bermasyarakat serta menerapan gaya hidup halal berdasarkan syariat islam.

Abstract

This study aims to develop AR technology of simplified representations based on ISO standards and to quantify the efficiency and contribution of developed AR technology in assisting students in learning mechanical drawing. This research proposed a marker-based AR application development, intended for teaching simplified representations, named Augmented Reality Penyederhanaan Gambar - ARPeGa, and an experimental study to quantify the user experience (UX) using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). A pilot study involving 38 mechanical engineering students was conducted to evaluate the impact of AR involvement on user experience. In addition, the UEQ data analysis tool version 11 was used.  The UEQ results showed attractiveness was excellent (1.87), while efficiency, dependability, stimulation, and novelty were good (1.63, 1.60, 1.63, and 1.22 respectively). And perspicuity was categorized as “above average” (1.51). This study’s outcomes demonstrate that using 3D model visualization in the AR application strengthens user experiences to understand simplified representations. Overall, the application has a ‘good’ level in some categories: efficiency, dependability, stimulation, and novelty.
