Abstract

Mutual exclusion is one of the mechanisms that can be used to solve concurrency problems in the operating system. In the operating system, there are resources that cannot be shared at the same time, such as printers. These kinds of resources are called critical resources. Programs that use critical resources are called entering critical regions/sections. Programmers cannot rely on the operating system to understand and enforce these limits. The mutual exclusion settlement process was submitted by several experts. One of them is Lamport with a method known as Lamport's Bakery Algorithm. The work process of Lamport's Bakery Algorithm starts from the buyer entering the store and receiving the sequence number. If there is a waiter who is idle (not being / will serve other buyers), then the buyer directly asks for service from the waiter. If not, then the buyer sits in the buyer's waiting area and waits until his turn. Shoppers who have finished being served out of the store and waiters who are idle serve the lowest numbered buyers who are waiting at the waiting place of the buyer

Abstract

Soil moisture related to water content which a factor that affects the plant growth. The process of watering plants is generally done manually regardless of the volume of water needed by plants. This re research discussed about an automated prototype and a system that have the function of watering plants based on the soil moisture level. The method used is prototyping which is suitable with the research purpose. The prototype and systems built with microcontroller, soil moisture sensors, relay and solenoid valve, which integrated with the IoT platform Blynk apps and Thingspeak. The process starts from the detection of soil moisture by the sensor. If soil moisture value is detected on 30% - 35%, then the device activates the watering function by opening the valve from the solenoid valve to drain water to the pipe. When the soil moisture detected more then 35% , the device stops the watering function. ThingSpeak IoT platform, used to display moisture percentage data in graphical form. Blynk apps provide notification features to the user's smartphone when the watering device is activated or deactivated. Based on the test scenario performed, it was found that the percentage of soil moisture with an initial value of 30% - 35% increased to 68.2%, after the watering process. Each component of the device and system has been tested and functioning according to the purpose, so the system has the potential to be used in the process of watering the plants automatically.Keywords: automatic watering system, microcontroller, soil moisture, sensor, IoT.

Abstract

Internet merupakan suatu jaringan yang menghubungkan komputer di seluruh dunia tanpa dibatasi oleh jumlah unit menjadi satu jaringan yang dapat saling mengakses. Dengan internet tersebut, satu komputer dapat berkomunikasi secara langsung dengan komputer lain di berbagai belahan dunia. Alasan mengapa era ini memberikan dampak yang cukup signifikan bagi berbagai aspek kehidupan yaitu informasi pada internet bisa diakses 24 jam dalam sehari, biaya murah dan gratis, Kemudahan akses informasi dan melakukan transaksi, kemudahan membangun relasi dengan pelanggan, Materi dapat di ketahui dengan mudah, pengguna internet telah merambah ke segala penjuru. Quality of Service (QoS) merupakan metode pengukuran tentang seberapa baik jaringan dan merupakan suatu usaha untuk mendefinisikan karakteristik dan sifat dari satu servis. QoS digunakan untuk mengukur sekumpulan atribut kinerja yang telah dispesifikasikan dan diasosiasikan dengan suatu servis. Model Monitoring QoS terdiri dari komponen monitoring application, QoS monitoring, monitor, dan monitored object. Pada pengukuran kualitas jaringan dengan menilai throughput dengan nilai rata-rata 32,81% dengan kategori sedang, delay 3,386 ms dengan kategori sedang, packet loss dengan kategori bagus dengan nilai rata-rata packet loss 3,31% dan jitter di kategori bagus mendapatkan rata-rata 4,3108 ms. Pengukuran dan penggunaan internet kampus berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dan berdasarkan topologi jaringan dengan router mikrotik yang dipakai oleh kampus Universitas Kristen Indonesia Maluku dapat dikategorikan kecepatan sedang.
