Abstract

Abstract

Moringa (Moringa oleifera L.) is a plant belonging to the moringaceae family. Moringa seeds contain oil which can be used as a raw material for making azelaic acid. Azelaic acid is used as an anti-acne in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Azelaic acid can be obtained from the oxidation process of fatty acids in moringa seed oil using potassium permanganate as an oxidizing agent. The resulting azelaic acid is in the form of white crystals with a conversion percentage of 72.17%. The results of the FT-IR characterization showed the formation of azelaic acid characterized by widening of the hydroxyl group at 3448.46 cm-1 followed by a shift of the ester group at absorption of 1633.46 cm-1. The ester bond is strengthened at a wavelength of 1115.95 cm-1.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is the ability of individuals to understand and use scientific knowledge in asking questions, seeking information, explaining natural phenomena, and making decisions based on evidence. This literacy also includes awareness of the impact of science and technology on the environment, culture, and daily life, as well as encouraging active engagement with science-related issues. This study aims to identify and analyze research trends related to local wisdom-based media in improving scientific literacy. The method used is descriptive and analytical, with data obtained from documents indexed in Google Scholar and Dimensions.ai within the period of 2016–2025, using tools such as Publish or Perish and Dimensions.ai. The research procedure follows the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. The analyzed data includes types of publications, sources of publications, and research titles. The analysis was carried out bibliometrically using VOSviewer software. The results show that the research trend on local wisdom-based media has shown a fluctuating pattern. From 2016 to 2019, the number of publications gradually increased. In 2020, there was a significant spike, followed by steady growth until 2024. The decline in 2025 is presumed to be due to the current year's data not being fully accumulated. Most documents are in the form of articles, books, proceedings, and monographs. Frequently appearing keywords in this research are: Scientific Literacy, Learning Media, Local Wisdom, Contextual Learning, and Science Education

Abstract

This study is a literature review that aims to explore the influence of the Inquiry Learning model on improving scientific attitudes in science learning. The scientific attitudes in question include curiosity, objectivity, openness to evidence, and perseverance in the process of seeking the truth. Using the analytical descriptive method, data were collected from 1,000 Google Scholar indexed documents between 2020 and 2025, then analyzed using software such as Publish or Perish, Dimension.ai, and VOSviewer. The results of the study show that the inquiry learning model, both guided, laboratory-based, and integrated with concrete media and digital technology, significantly contributes to improving students' scientific attitudes. Bibliometric visualization shows that this topic is a major trend in scientific publications, with a dominant distribution in journal articles. This study also found that the integration of social, cultural, and spiritual aspects in the inquiry approach has a positive impact on the formation of students' scientific character. However, there is still room for further exploration on themes such as mobile learning and inquiry frameworks that have not been widely studied. Thus, inquiry learning is not only relevant in building students' scientific foundations, but also becomes a strategic approach that is adaptive to the needs of 21st century learning. The implications of this study point to the importance of implementing inquiry learning models widely at various levels of education
