Abstract

Currently, the learning process is still done online. This is a challenge for teachers to continue to apply problem-solving skills in the mathematics learning process. One of the appropriate mathematics materials to measure students' problem-solving abilities is geometry. Geometry material is often an obstacle for students because geometry material is abstract. Therefore, teachers must analyze students' problem-solving skills during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially geometry material. The purpose of this study was to describe students' problem-solving ability in answering geometry questions given by the teacher. This study uses descriptive qualitative research because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects used were 20 students of grade VIII from one of the schools in Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling technique. The instruments used are test instruments, interviews, and documentation of student answers. Data analysis used was descriptive qualitative method referring to the Polya error indicator. The results of this study indicate that students' problem-solving abilities are still relatively low. This can be seen from some students experiencing difficulties solving the given geometry problems. So that teachers must be able to improve students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Seluruh kegiatan pembelajaran di masa pandemi Covid-19 dilakukan secara virtual. Hal ini menyebabkan kurangnya minat belajar siswa pada pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu guru perlu menggunakan berbagai cara untuk memahamkan konsep yang abstrak agar dapat dipahami oleh siswa, yaitu dengan memanfaatkan salah satu media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang dapat memvisualisasikan konsep yang abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan minat belajar siswa terhadap penggunaan software GeoGebra pada materi geometri selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 18 orang siswa yang diambil secara random. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu instrumen non-test berupa angket minat belajar siswa yang disebarkan menggunakan Google Form, pada pembelajaran geometri menggunakan software GeoGebra yang terdiri dari 20 pernyataan sebagai acuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan software GeoGebra. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif terhadap minat belajar geometri siswa. Seperti diketahui, 3 indikator tergolong sangat baik dan 1 indikator tergolong baik. Software GeoGebra efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika untuk menarik minat belajar siswa

Abstract

Prestasi belajar merupakan hasil akhir dari pencapaian sebuah proses yang sampai saat ini masih dijadikan sebagai tolak ukur sebuah keberhasilan. Namun demikian selama diselenggarakannya pembelajaran daring ini prestasi yang terinegrasi dengan nilai-nilai karakter tidak dapat melalui aktivitas pembelajaran secara langsung. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh persepsi mahasiswa tentang media pembelajaran dan metode mengajar yang digunakan dosen terhadap prestasi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran matematika di FKIP UIR yang terintegrasi dengan nilai karakter. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode kausal komparatif yaitu ex post facto. Populasi terdiri dari seluruh mahasiswa semester 6 matematika FKIP UIR yang mengambil mata kuliah analisis data statistik berbasis IT. Sampel untuk penelitian ini terdiri dari 45 siswa yang diidentifikasi melalui teknik purposive random sampling. Pengumpulan data digunakan angket dan data hasil ujian mahasiswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana dan analisis regresi linier sederhana menggunakan bantuan program SPSS versi 22.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan uji regresi sederhana maupun ganda, diperoleh nilai F hitung signifikan sebesar 4,993, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terkait penggunaan media pembelajaran dan metode mengajar dosen berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap prestasi mahasiswa yang terintegrasi dengan nilai karakter. Oleh karena itu, sebagai seorang dosen, mestinya menggunakan media pembelajaran dan menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai agar mahasiswa dapat memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cooperative learning of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type in improving students’ learning outcomes, social attitudes,and students’ motivation. This is a quasi-experimental study using control and experimental classes. The research instruments used in this study were tests and questionnaires. The data were analyzed by using Multivariate Analysis of Variants (MANOVA). Theresult of the analysis showed that there was a significant influence between the experimental class with cooperative learning of STAD type and the control class with conventional learning viewed from the learning outcomes, social attitudes, and motivation of the students. These results can be seen from the statistical value of Hotelling's Trace which was smaller than 0.05. Cooperative learning simultaneously could improve learning outcomes, social attitudes, and learning motivation of students of SMAN 1 Tebing Tinggi.

Abstract

The learning held is expected to be an inspiration for students and to integrate character values. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students have various perceptions of the implementation of lectures and related aspects. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe students' perceptions of the implementation of online learning at the Islamic University of Riau. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. Students' perceptions of the implementation of learning are carried out by giving a questionnaire that refers to three components, namely: lecturer competence, learning process components, and infrastructure components. Data was collected using an online questionnaire using Google Form which was distributed to 117 students of the IT-Based Statistical Data Analysis course by purposive random sampling. The results showed that the competence component of the lecturers obtained the highest level of perception, namely 85.16%, the facilities and infrastructure components as much as 84.55%, and the learning process component as much as 80.16%. This shows that the success of learning according to student perceptions is largely determined by the competence of the lecturer, while the facilities and infrastructure, as well as the learning process, support the success of all related components. In general, it can be concluded that students' perceptions of the implementation of online lectures in the IT-Based Data Analysis course at the Islamic University of Riau gave a positive response with a perception rate of 83.29%.
