Abstract

The current of increasingly strong modernization has caused the local wisdom of a culture to be eliminated and replaced with a new form of habit instantly. This condition causes humans escape beyond the scope of their original tradition, and cause them become a crisis of identity and cultural breakdown. This paper aims to show the importance of revitalizing the tradition of Pasambahan manjapuik marapulai as part of efforts to preserve the Minangkabau culture. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data obtained from field observations and interviews with informants and study documentation. The results showed that in order to revitalize the tradition of Pasambahan manjapuik marapulai, this can be done through three (3) stages, namely: activating, managing and inheritance. Activating can be done by socializing Minangkabau culture through education, re-functioning the traditional process, and forming a youth organization. Managing can be done by managing training time, promoting and involving youth in a series of events. Inheritance can be done through radio broadcasting, airing custom shows on local television, posting cultural advertisement and inventory.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research are to find out: 1) the extent of the application of hangman game on students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak. 2)The extent of the students’ vocabulary before and after using hangman game at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak. 3) Whether there is any significant effect of hangman gameon students’ vocabularymastery at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak. The population of this research is all of the eight grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak consists of 103 students. The sample was 25 students which are taken by purposive sampling. The research method is used by experimental method. Then the data is collected by using the instrument. The instrument used is multiple choice. The hypothesis of this research is there is significant effect of hangman gameon students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade of SMPNegeri 1 Padang Bolak. The calculation of ttestformula is higher than score of ttable. The score of the ttestis 18.4 meanwhile the score of ttable is 2,06at 5% significant level with (df) 27, (ttest18.4>ttable2,06) and hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is significant effect of hangman gameon students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade of SMPNegeri 1 Padang Bolak. Keyword: Hangman Game, Vocabulary

Abstract

Abstract :The purpose of this research to know 1) the application of inquiry method on students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition text , 2) The students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition text before and after using inquiry method, 3) whether there is any significant effect of inquiry method on students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition text. This research used experimental method with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this research is 22 students of class XI-C by using purposive sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation sheet and test. The result of the research are 1) application of inquiry method was 3.3 (very good category), 2) the average score of students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition text before and after using inquiry method is 43.36 (fail category) and is 72.95 ( good category), 3) The results of the analysis show that ttest is greater than ttable.. (7.77 > 2.08). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is any significant effect of inquiry method on reading comprehension of analytical exposition text for class XI- C students’ of MAS AL- Abraar Siondop Julu Angkola Selatan. Abstract

Abstract: This research aim to know students motivation in learning English during pandemic Covid-19 at the Eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Andam Dewi 2020/2021 Academic Year. Informant in this research are 34. 28 students class A, 1 English teacher in SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Andam Dewi and 5 parents of students. based on the observation was done before, researcher founded almost of the students are motivated in learning English before the pandemic with percentage 90% and after Covid-19 was came just 25% are motivated in learning English and 75% is not motivated in learning English during Covid-19 pandemic its means Covid-19 made students are not motivated in learning English during this pandemic. Its showed Covid-19 made students at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Andam Dewi mostly not motivated in learning English during pandemic Covid-19 and the dominant factor is came from internal factor.Keywords: Motivation, Learning, Covid-19

Abstract

Developing Early Childhood Creativity Through Folding Games of Origami Paper in Kindergarten Nurul Huda Suka Maju Village Mestong District, Muaro Jambi Regency Role playing or fake play is a very good activity to improve children‟s emotional social intelligence, And build children‟s thinking power. These types of games include drama plays or role plays and other types of games where children play roles as other people. This type of research is a type of collaborative classroom action using the Kemmis model and the Taggart MC. The subject of this study were children of group B2, which amounted to 20 children consisting of 12 boys and 8 girls the data collection methods used were documentation observation and interviews. Role playing can improve children‟s emotional social intelligence and after action through role playing in the first cycle of meetings 1 percentage of the child‟s emotional social intelligence of 5% that developed very well in the first cycle of meeting 2 the percentage of children 30% developed very well in the second cycle of the meeting 1 the percentage of 50% of children‟s social emotional intelligence that developedvery well in the 2nd meeting cycle 2 the percentage of children as much as 85% that developed very well showed that the social emotional intelligence og group B 2 children with very goodcriteria had reached the indicator 85% success.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are: 1) to know the application of REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) Technique on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text, 2) to know the students’ reading comprehension of narrative text before and after using REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) technique, 3) to know whether there is any significant effect of REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) technique on students’ reading comprehension at the Eighth grade of SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. This research uses experimental method. The population is all the Eighth grade students which are devided into six classes and total are 164 students. The samples are 28 students by using purposive sampling. The technique of collecting data is used questioner and test. The result of the research are, application of REAP technique is 76% categorized “Good”. The students’ reading comprehension of narrative text before using REAP technique is 26 categorized “Fail” and after is 79 categorized “Good”. The calculation of ttest formula is 29.82 and the ttable is 2.05 (ttest 29.82 > ttable 2.05). It means that there is any significant effect of REAP technique on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text at the Eighth grade of SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. Keywords: REAP Technique, Teachning, Method, Reading and Narrative Text Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) untuk mengetahui sejauh mana Penerapan teknik REAP terhadap pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif, 2) sejauh manakah pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik REAP, 3) Apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari teknik REAP terhadap pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif di kelas VIII-B SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Angkola Barat yang berjumlah 164 siswa. Sampel adalah VIII-B yang berjumlah 28 siswa yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Dalam pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan lembar quetioner dan tes sebagai instrumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Penerapan teknik REAP adalah 76%, dengan kategori “Good”. 2) Nilai rata-rata pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif adalah 26 dan dikategorikan “Gagal”. Sedangkan setelah menggunakan teknik REAP adalah 79, dikategorikan “Baik”. Hasil perhitungan ttest yaitu 29.82 dan ttabel yaitu 2.05. Ini berarti ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari teknin REAP terhadap pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif dikelas VIII SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. Abstract

Abstract :The purpose of this research to know 1) the application of learning cycle model on students’ writing narrative text , 2) The students’ writing narrative text before and after using learning cycle model, 3) whether there is any significant effect of learning cycle model on students’ writing narrative text. This research used experimental model with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this research is 22 students of class VIII-U by using purposive sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation sheet and test. The result of the research are 1) application of learning cycle model was 3.25 (good category), 2) the average score of students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition text before and after using learning cycle model is 37 (fail category) and is 72 (good category), 3) The results of the analysis show that ttest is greater than ttable.. (7.22 > 2.08). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is any significant effect of learning cycle model in wrting narrative text for class VIII- U students’ of SMP Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. Key Word:Writing Ability, Narrative Text, Learning Cycle Model Abstrak : Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1) penerapan model learning cycle terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa teks narasi, 2) kemampuan menulis siswa teks narasi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model learning cycle, 3) apakah ada pengaruh signifikan model learning cycle terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa teks narasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain pre-experimental design dengan menggunakan one-group pretest and posttest design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 22 siswa kelas VIII-U dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Dalam mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) penerapan model learning cycle sebesar 3,25 (kategori baik), 2) nilai rata-rata pemahaman membaca siswa teks eksposisi analitik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model learning cycle adalah 37 (kategori gagal) dan 72 ( kategori baik), 3) Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel. (7.22 > 2,08). Jadi, hipotesis diterima. Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan model learning cycle terhadap kemampuan menulis teks narasi siswa kelas VIII-U SMP Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan minat belajar siswa pada materi menyebutkan tokoh dalam dongeng di kelas I SD Negeri 084089 Sibolga melalui model Active Learning. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data data yang digunakan adalah observasi menggunakan angket dan tes. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I SD Negeri 084089 Sibolga yang berjumlah 20 orang. Objek penelitian ini adalah Peningkatan Minat Belajar Materi Menyebutkan Tokoh Dalam Dongeng Melalui Model Active Learning Pada Siswa Kelas I SD Negeri 084089 Sibolga. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada siklus I hasil belajar siswa yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 7 orang dengan persentase (35%) sedangkan yang belum mencapai KKM sebanyak 13 orang dengan persentase (65%). Kemudian pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dimana siswa yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 15 orang dengan persentase (75%) sedangkan yang belum mencapai KKM sebanyak 5 orang dengan persentase (25%). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Active Learning dalam  Peningkatan Minat Belajar Materi Menyebutkan Tokoh Dalam Dongeng Melalui Model Active Learning Pada Siswa Kelas I SD Negeri 084089 Sibolga dinyatakan berhasil dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to find out: 1) the kind of connotative meaning is found in Ed Sheeran’s 10 song lyrics, 2) the connotative meaning contained in the lyrics of Ed Sheeran’s song and 3) the most dominant types of connotative meaning in the 10 lyrics of Ed Sheeran’s song. In collecting the data, the researcher used documentation. By using connotative meaning theory of Hook’s in Cahyani. The researcher focused to analyze connotative meaning that include 2 types, namely: Positive connotation and negative connotation. The result of the study showed that from Ed Sheeran’s song lyrics, the researcher found there were 41 utterance containing the types of connotative meaning. Positive connotation with percentage 70.5% and Negative connotation 29.5%. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the most dominant types of Connotative meaning in Ed Sheeran’s song lyrics is Positive connotation. While the meanings contained in the 10 lyrics of Ed Sheeran’s songs were: Disappointment and happiness.
