Abstract

Background: Surgery is a major stressor for most patients. Preoperative anxiety determines the success or failure of surgery and recovery, as well as postoperative anxiety. The role of the nurses are very important in assessing the patient's anxiety. The giving of information about surgery and post-surgery manajemen are needed the patients. Objective: The aims of this study is to determine the level of patients anxiety before and after surgery Methodes:This research is non experimental with cross sectional design. The population is all patients undergoing surgery, with a sample of 80 patients by accidental sampling. The instrument is HARS (Halmington Anxiety Rating Scala). Data collection on April 2015. Beginning with inform concent and then giving quisioner to patients. The questionnaires were administered before surgery and after the patients had surgery. Univariate analysis and paired t test are the analysis used. Results: Middle anxiety levels before surgery are 45% to 25% after surgery. Mild anxiety levels before surgery are 34% to 10% after surgery. While the respondents who did not anxiety before surgery are 10% to 61,25% after surgery. Conclusion: There was a significant difference in the patients anxiety levels before and after surgery with p = 0,00. Keywords : Anxiety, surgery, role of the nurses

Abstract

Background: stroke is a disorder of nervous system function that occurs suddenly and is caused by brain bleeding disorders that can affect the quality of life physical dimensions, social dimensions, psychological dimensions, environmental dimensions. Based on the result of Lumbu study (2015) the number of samples were 71 people collected data using the (WHOQOL-BREF). There were 56 people (78,9%) had the poor quality of life of post stroke. The mean of post-stroke quality of life domain was physical domain (45,27%), psychological domain (49,87%), social relations domain (48,15%) and environmental domain (50.01%). Objective: the purpose of the study was know the quality of life of the stroke patients in Outpatient Polyclinic of Private Hospital in Yogyakarta. Methods: used descriptive quantitative by using questionnaire test of purposive sampling system based on patients who have been affected of ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke before, number 30 respondents. Result: quality of life of stroke patient of medium physical dimension (67%), psychological dimension (71%), social dimension (67%), dimension good environment (63%). Conclusion: the quality of life of stroke patients of physical dimension, psychological dimension, and moderate social dimension, while the quality of life of stroke patients were good environmental dimension.   Keywords: Hemorrhagic stroke, ischemic stroke, quality of life

Abstract

Background: Nursing clinical practice is a learning process in order to give nursing services bypracticing as nurses in the clinical setting. The students practiced nursing process approach, andperformed the attitude, behavior, and skills in a professional manner.Objective: The aim of this studyis to describe of medical-surgical the nursing students in clinical practice which includes preparation,guidance, role models, opportunities to apply science and behavioral transformation. Methods : Thiswas survey study that conducted in a private nursing academic in Yogyakarta. A questionnaire wasused to describe the preparation, mentoring, role models, opportunities to apply science and behaviortransformation in clinical practices. The participants were informed concented and selected usingpurposive sampling with inclusion criteria for the 3rd semester student who just completed the firstnursing clinical practice, l7-20 years old and willing to become respondents. Ninty eight studentswere taken as samples. Descriptive statistic with the presentage were used. Results: 54.5% studentsstated that the explanation of nursing clinical practice is quite clear, while 27.3 % stated that it wasclear enough, 58.4% students said that their instructor gave a very good guidance, while 54.5% saidthat the instructor gave them average level of guidance, 88.2% said that there were sufficient numberof patients available to achieve the target of competence, and 76.2% said that they achieve thecompetence level above the target. 98.7% of students said that they had a nurse role model thatpossess a professional behaviour, attitude, and skills, 57.1% of the stated that they could apply thetheory in real setting. Conclusion: Implementation of nursing clinical practice of students in privatenursing academy in Yogyakarta has done well, with clear learning objectives delivery, properguidance, many practice opportunities, enough cases availability and good role model acquired bystudents during the practice.

Abstract

Tujuan: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas latihan lutut terhadap penurunan intensitas nyeri pasien osteoarthritis lutut Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan randomised pretest-postest control design, dengan jumlah responden 80 pasien (kelompok intervensi 60 dan kelompok kontrol 20), menggunakan uji statistik regresi ordinal. Kriteria inklusi usia diatas 40 tahun, diagnosa OA grade 1-2, bersedia menjadi responden, tidak memiliki penyakit yang semakin parah dengan melakukan latihan. Hasil: Latihan lutut secara statistik efektif menurunkan intensitas nyeri (p=0,004), faktor berat badan efektif menurunkan intensitas nyeri (p=0,013), sedangkan variabel lain yaitu usia, jenis kelamin, kecemasan dan aktivitas fisik lain tidak efektif menurunkan intesitas nyeri. Sedangkan secara simultan variabel independen efektif mempengaruhi variabel dependen sebesar 28,7%. Simpulan: Latihan lutut efektif menurunkan intensitas nyeri pasien osteoarthritis lutut p = 0.004. Implikasi keperawatan dengan melakukan latihan lutut secara teratur, maka akan mengurangi morbiditas akibat nyeri osteoarthritis lutut dan dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya. Kata Kunci: latihan lutut, osteoarthritis, intensitas nyeri.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Hypertension is called the silent killer because it often  has no warning sign and sympthom and many people do not know they have it. Hypertension are increasing and 54% have uncontrolled blood pressure even 63,2% are undiagnosed. Based on interviews with patients in the Pundong Health Center, data was obtained that they did not realize that their blood pressure was high if there were no complaints. Even hypertension has been diagnosed, they are not routine control and there is no attempt to control blood pressure. Objective: to determine the quality of life of patients with hypertension at Pundong Health Center. Methods: quantitative research with a cross-sectional study. Samples were taken randomly,  total of 70 people. Instrument uses WHOQoL-BREF. Analysis of data with percentages. Results: The quality of life of patients with hypertension in physical health domains was moderate 78.6%, good 18.6% and bad 2.9%. The domain of psychological well-being was moderate 81.4%, bad 15.7% and good 2.9%. The social relations domain was good 47.1% and moderate 45.7%, very bad 5.7% and bad 1.4%. The environmental domain was 70% moderate, 25.7% good and 4.3% bad.Conclusion: The quality of life of patients with hypertension are moderate quality of life, but there are still some sufferers who have a bad quality of life of 2.9-15.7% in the domain of physical health, psychological well-being, social and environmental relations.
