Abstract

The Ability Rubber Plants in Lowering to Dust Fall Level Along the Coal Haul Road.Changes in air environment are generally caused by air pollution. Coal transportasion activity make the impact of air pollution such as dust fall along the coal haul road. A solution to handling dust fall along the coal haul road with vegetation of plant which have ability to reduce dust fall particles. The purpose of this research is to know the ability rubber plants in lowering the dust fall level along coal haul road. The benefit as raw material inputs in controlling of dust pollution in environment using berrier plant. The method of this research use a field experiment with design pretest and posttest with control group. The population of this research is the dust fall level and samples research is dust that measured on 4 location that represent the diffrences landscape 50 m, 100 m, 150 m and 200 m. Every width of landscape measure of 2 samples poin before and after of a landscape. It done in 5 times replicas.Data analysis using a simple regression. There is influence of rubber plant ability to decrease dust content to the distance determined with result of percentage of degradation of dust settled at 50 meter distance without barrier 48,0% to distance 50 meter with barrier 57,0%.

Abstract

Abstarct: Effect Of Exposure To Respiratory Dust On Lung Vital Capacity In Workers The Limestone Industry. Lime dust is one of the hazardous dust that is dangerous if left exposed. In the airways can cause airway inflammation. This inflammation can lead to obstruction of the airway so that it can reduce lung vital capacity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of exposure to respiratory dust on lung vital capacity in workers in the limestone industry in Kelurahan Sungai Ulin ,Kota Banjarbaru. Analytical research design with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were all workers in the limestone industry. Data analysis used simple linear regression tests. The results of the research statistical tests showed no effect of exposure to respirate dust on the vital capacity of lung workers due to the level of dust that is still below the NAB and the normal lung condition of workers. However, it can be seen the tendency of the problem if high dust levels can reduce lung vital capacity. It is expected that with this study workers will be able to increase awareness about the use of masks when in a work environment.

Abstract

Monoxide (CO) bonds with blood are 200 times stronger than oxygen bonds with blood. When inhaled CO will be absorbed through the lungs following the blood circulation and binds to haemoglobin to form HbCO in the tissues which will block the entry of oxygen needed by the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of air CO levels with oxygen saturation (SpO2) in officers in Terminal Type B of South Kalimantan Province. This type of research is analytically using a cross-sectional design with a sample of 24 people. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, CO measurement and SpO2 examination with Pulse Oximetry. Abstract

Abstract: Abilities Of Oil Palm In Reducing Dusk Fall In (Trasnportation) Track Coal. In generally air environment changes because air pollution, activity in coal transportation give an air pollution impact is the dusk along coal transportation track. One of the ways to handling the dusk with planting barrier who can reducing the dusk particles. This research aimed to know palm oil abilities in reducing levels of submerged dusk. Method in this research is analytic observation, with cross sectional survey design. Population and sample of this research is measured dust level measured at 5 research location that is 1 m, 50 m, 100 m, 150 m, and 200 m. Width distance barrier in every location be measured 2 point of sample is without barrier and with barrier which to do in 5 replications. For data analysis, researchers used T-test independent, simple regression test and same subject anova test. The result of this research showed that the difference between levels of submerged dusk without barrier and with barrier. There is an effect distance to levels of the submerged dusk in length 1 m 173,66 ton/km2/month showed that reduction in length 200 m 17,06 ton/km2/month. Palm oil proved that reducing levels of submerged dusk in length 100 m levels of submerged dusk under environment standard.

Abstract

Ventilation is the process of exchanging clean air from outside into the room. Good ventilation is able to ensure smooth air circulation. This study aims to determine the relationship of air adequacy with comfort in room space. This research is an analytic study with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 30 rooms that used natural ventilation systems. The air change time is calculated from the volume of the room, the height and area of the ventilator, as well as the difference in the temperature of the outside and indoor air. Adequacy of air available with the air needed by its inhabitants. Objective comfort is based on the difference between outside and inside room temperature, and subjectively based on the room occupant's perspective. The results showed as many as 87% of the rooms had no air turnover time and as many as 20% of the rooms had insufficient air. Objectively stated rooms are uncomfortable as much as 57%, but subjectively reaching 77%. Statistically there is a significant relationship between air adequacy with comfort in the room objectively (p = 0.024). It can be concluded that the adequacy of the air represented by the ventilation system is related to the comfort of the air in the room space, to create a comfortable and healthy room space. Future research is expected to consider and include other factors that affect the ventilation system such as the layout of the furniture, the position of the ventilation, and the characteristics of the building so that research on comfort is more objective.

Abstract

Abstract: The Influence Of The Distance Of Pollutant Source On Sulfate (So4) Concentrations In The Dust Along The Coal Haul Road. One of the quality parameters of coal is Sulfur. Sulfur content in coal be able to reach 4%. Sulfur content in coal at South Kalimantan mine ranges from 0.08 – 1.58%. Sulfur can be in the form of pyrite as S2 and sulfate as SO4. Sulfur content in coal dust that floats in the air will fall along with rain. This study aims to determine the effect of distance to SO4 levels on dust along coal haul roads. The sampling point was taken from variation of distance that is 1 m, 50 m, 100 m, 150 m, and 200 m from the side of coal haul road. The results showed that the highest sulfate concentration was at 1 m distance from the side of the road, that was 37.865 mg/L, and the lowest was at 200 m distance from the side of the road, that was 3.405 mg/L. These sulfate concentrations were proportional to dust fall. The farther the sampling point, the sulfate content decreases. Keywords: Dust Fall; sulfate concentration; distance.

Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome includes disorders of the muscles, nerves, tendons, and blood vessels caused by repetitive activities for a long time. One of the informal sectors that always works using hands and wrists is the purun craftsman in Palam, Cempaka, Banjarbaru City. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between length of service and tenure with complaints of CTS on Purun craftsmen. One of the sampling techniques used is purposive sampling using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The number of samples collected is 53 respondents. Data analysis using the chi-square test. The results of the research test on the variable length of work, the Pearson chi-square sig value of 0.002 (<0.05) indicates a relationship between length of work and complaints of carpal tunnel syndrome in craftsmen. Although the results of the time-of-use survey test vary, the results of the research test on the variable period of service, the value of sig pearson's chi-square sig 0.002 (etlt; 0.05), which means that there is a relationship between years of service and complaints of carpal tunnel syndrome of purun craftsmen in Palam, Cempaka, Banjarbaru City.
