Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the school meal program in improving the nutritional status and learning focus of primary school students. The research method implemented in this study is the literature study method. The results suggest that school meal programs can play an effective role in tackling the problem of undernutrition and obesity among school children by providing access to balanced and wholesome meals. In addition, the findings indicated the continuation of food quality and quantity as determining factors in improving students' nutritional status and academic performance. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between schools, government and parents in supporting school meal programs. Investing in school meal programs will not only contribute to the improvement of children's nutritional status but also to increased academic focus and performance, which in turn, prepares a better foundation for their physical and academic future.

Abstract

Integrating the concept of integrated thematic learning into Islamic religious learning has great potential to improve the quality of students' educational process. This approach allows the cultivation of religious values that are connected to various other scientific aspects in a thematic series, thus facilitating multidimensional and contextual understanding for students. The results of the literature review conclude that the development of theme-based learning across studies has great potential to increase the effectiveness of student learning, where religious teachings can be channeled along with other subject matter so as to form a comprehensive and meaningful understanding for them. However, the implementation of the concept of integrated thematic learning in the fourth grade of Islamic religion is still faced with various obstacles, such as the lack of teacher understanding of this concept, the lack of training and mentoring, and the limited learning resources and supporting facilities. Educators often find it difficult to plan and implement cross-curricular learning properly. On the other hand, several key enablers of this development can enhance its success, including the support of the principal, the availability of appropriate teaching materials, parent and community participation, and collaboration among teachers. This study concludes that to improve the effectiveness of integrated thematic learning in Islamic religious education, there needs to be more focus from schools and the government on providing training and mentoring to educators. In addition, it is also necessary to increase the availability and quality of learning facilities. These steps are expected to implement theme-based learning more effectively to support students' character development and academic achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar di SDN 78 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru dan siswa kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diuji melalui triangulasi sumber, triangulasi teknik, dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran melalui tahapan penyajian masalah kontekstual, diskusi kelompok, pencarian solusi, dan presentasi hasil. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami perkembangan yang ditunjukkan melalui kemampuan mengidentifikasi masalah, mengemukakan pendapat, dan memberikan solusi sederhana, meskipun masih terdapat kendala dalam analisis mendalam. Faktor pendukung meliputi kreativitas guru, partisipasi aktif siswa, dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, sedangkan faktor penghambat meliputi keterbatasan waktu, perbedaan kemampuan siswa, serta kurangnya media pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, model Problem-Based Learning terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara bertahap dan memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih bermakna.
