Abstract

One consideration during the design of long range controlled electrical system is the sudden outage of a Personal Computer (PC) caused by power failure. Frequent outage can damage the components inside the PC such that the whole system could be malfunction. This can affect the cost, time, and effort required to fix the system. Usually such system is equipped with a temporary power storage or UPS (uninterruptible power supply) with a small capacity, so the PC in the system can immediately be turned off before the UPS runs out. Therefore it is necessary to design a control system that can shutdown the PC automatically within a certain range of time after the outage. The implementation of designed system has used an ATmega8L microcontroller as a controller, an optoisolator PS2505-1 as isolator for electric components from AC signal, and Visual Basic as the programming language. The system has been tested with an input voltage of 220Vrms AC signal. The test result has shown that the PC was successfully shut down within a certain time range after the input was terminated.

Abstract

AbstrakMesin pemanggang kopi merupakan sebuah mesin yang digunakan untuk menyangrai biji kopi agar matang, sehingga siap untuk diproses lebih lanjut. Prinsip kerja mesin ini adalah produk dipanaskan dalam ruang sangrai yang berputar dengan suhu tertentu, sehingga pemanasan bisa merata. Salah satu jenis pemanas pemanggang kopi adalah elemen pemanas listrik, dimana sistem kerjanya masih banyak dikendalikan secara manual dengan saklar atau semi otomatis menggunakan timer yang dioperasikan oleh seorang operator. Proses roasting kopi sangat menentukan cita rasa kopi, sehingga dibutuhkan seorang operator yang ahli dibidang ini.  Pada paper ini akan didesain sebuah sistem pengendali pemanas pemanggang kopi dengan logika fuzzy. Aturan-aturan fuzzy yang akan dibangun, didasarkan atas keahlian atau pengalaman seorang operator. Logika fuzzy yang dihasilkan akan diaplikasikan pada sebuah mikrokontroller dengan menggunakan pemrograman bahasa C. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membangun sebuah sistem pengendali pada pemanas pemanggang dengan logika fuzzy, sehingga proses roasting biji kopi dapat bekerja secara otomatis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebuah prototype yang merepresentasikan sistem kerja pengendali pemanas pemanggang kopi menggunakan logika fuzzy.Kata kunci: pemanggang kopi, fuzzy, mikrokontroller

Abstract

In light of the widespread use of online games for entertainment and the potential negative impact of addiction on personality attitudes, this study investigates the causal relationship between online game addiction and personality attitudes among students. Specifically, the research aims to explore the nature of changes in personality attitudes resulting from online game addiction. The study, conducted with 226 students from the Faculty of Communication and Multimedia Sciences, Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta, Class of 2021, employs a descriptive and causal research design through a quantitative approach. Data is collected using online game addiction questionnaires and attitude personality surveys distributed directly to students. The findings reveal a substantial 63.7% influence of online game addiction on the personality attitudes of these students, underscoring the need for a nuanced understanding of the impact of online gaming on individuals. While the remaining 36.3% is influenced by variables not studied, future research might delve into these aspects for a more comprehensive understanding. This study contributes valuable insights into the intricate relationship between online game addiction and personality attitudes, with potential implications for educational and psychological contexts.

Abstract

This paper presents a performance comparison of the circular patch unit cell as a unit cell for reflector application at 3.5 GHz frequency using a dielectric substrate between FR4 and F4BMX220 substrates. A circular patch is chosen as the unit cell of a reflector because it is commonly used, fabricated, and has a wider bandwidth compared to other structures. A performance comparison of the circular patch on both dielectric substrates is presented in a graph of S-parameters, reflection phase, and operating bandwidth, as well as in the table of dimensions, where the result is performed by simulation using CST software. Based on the simulated results, the F4BMX220 has a better performance compared to the FR4 in terms of the reflection value, operating bandwidth, and dielectric substrate thickness. However, a circular patch diameter when using the F4BMX220 is bigger than when using the FR4 substrate because the FR4 substrate has a higher dielectric constant than the F4BMX220, which is twice the F4BMX220 dielectric constant. Also, the F4BMX220 substrate has a narrower bandwidth compared to the FR4 substrate, which is a difference of around 0.1 GHz. The circular patch when using the F4BMX220 substrate has 0.96 of a reflection value, 0.007 of an absorption value, -6.77° of the reflection phase, and 0.24 GHz of the operating bandwidth at the normal incident wave angle (0°). Also, it can be properly worked if the incident wave angle is moving until 60°. The F4BMX220 substrate has the best performance compared to the FR4 substrate because the reflection value is much better value, even at the incident wave angle of 60°.
