Abstract

Local weaving is the identity and wealth inherent in some area. Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, is known to have regional weaving with diverse and interesting qualities and motifs. There are many previous Muna weaving motifs such as dhalima, samasili, panino toghe, bhotu, bhia-bhia, ledha, finda ngkonini, mango-manggopa, lante-lante, kambheano bhanggai, tibha-tibha, kaholeno ghunteli, kambhampu, bharalu, kasokasopa. To balance the development of the fashion industry, through the creative ideas of weavers, Muna's weaving motifs undergo commodification called a series of motifs. The visual of the first Muna weaving and Muna weaving produced by commodification and also the symbolic meaning of Muna woven motifs as a result of commodification became a problem in this study. Located in Masalili Village, Muna Regency, researchers conducted observations and direct interviews with research informants. By using the qualitative descriptive analysis of Milles and Huberman's interactive model, it was found that from the visuals of Muna's weaving motifs, after experiencing commodification, the latest motifs have been produced. Whether it's a combination of samasili and butterfly motifs, samasili and kites and other types of motifs. The development of the commodification motif has its own symbolic meaning. It describes the regional identity, cultural preservation, openness with progress, diversity, and describes the value of local wisdom in integrating outside cultural elements into the development of the Muna weaving motif.     Keywords: commodification; symbolic meaning; local wisdom; Muna weaving.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah diadopsi di berbagai bidang tidak terkecuali dunia pendidikan dalam bentuk e-learning. Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) mendorong terlaksananya sistem pembelajaran berbasis online. Berbagai kegiatan pelatihan dan bimbingan teknis (bimtek) e-learning dilakukan namun tidak memberikan dampak yang signifikan. Kondisi ini terjadi dikarenakan keterbatasan waktu serta tidak adanya pendampingan pasca pelatihan dan bimtek. Dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kemitraan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan, kegiatan ini bermitra dengan perwakilan dosen dari setiap jurusan/program studi lingkup Fisip UHO. Kurangnya minat dan kemampuan dalam menggunakan kelas virtual baik dari segi pengelolaan dan desain tampilan kelas virtual hingga pengisian konten menjadi masalah prioritas yang dialami mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan perubahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menggunakan web blog yang terkoneksi dengan blog dosen UHO di lecture.uho.ac.id. Dosen yang mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini telah memanfaatkan kelas virtual blog dosen dalam beberapa mata kuliah baik sebagai sarana berbagi materi maupun tugas kuliah. Melalui pengabdian ini, telah ada sembilan web blog yang bisa menjadi blog dosen percontohan dari jurusan/Prodi lingkup Fisip dan bisa digunakan untuk menunjang akreditasi. Tidak hanya itu, tim pengabdian juga menyediakan ruang komunikasi bagi mitra dan tim untuk memastikan kelas virtual terus aktif dan produktif sebagai bentuk kegiatan pendampingan melalui grup WhatsApp.

Abstract

Weave is the identity and wealth inherent in a region. In Muna district, it is also known tohave high quality weave with diverse and interesting motifs. However the fundamental problem amongweavers is the limited media or means of promotion and sale of their weaving products. The lack ofknowledge and skills in utilizing the information technology; also the fear of weavers on motifs "theft"by other weavers are two major problems the Muna's weaving was unpublished. This research wasconducted to identify the marketing mode of Muna’s weaving and the use of IT-based communicationmedia in its marketing. Using a qualitative research model, research data was collected throughinterviews and observations and then analyzed using qualitative descriptive data analysis of Miles andHuberman's interactive models. The research findings indicated that the marketing mode of weavingwas carried out by weavers through collectors or gallery owners and also directly sold to the peoplewho come to the weave. In addition, weavers also labeled each weaving motif as intellectual propertyright, and then published it through their respective online media by filling out the account with thecontent profile type or weaving motifs produced, weaving activities, and woven drawings withcaptions or messages to illustrate the images. Serious steps are needed among the government,weavers and the public for the dissemination and education of use and the need for proposing anintellectual property right (haki) for each woven work motif produced so that there is no longer asense of fear of "theft" motifs.
