Abstract

Ratmini NPS, Maryana YE.  2021. Management of dryland fertility support national food security. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang  20 Oktober 2021. pp. 80-88.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The development of dryland as agricultural land is one option that has the potential to increase crop production to meet national food needs. Obstacles encountered in the management include: low soil fertility, low organic matter, deficiency of P, K, Ca and Mg, high solubility of Al, Fe and Mn, high soil acidity which have potentially toxic plants. Potential as agricultural land is quite extensive and is capable of producing if it is managed using effective technology and crop management approaches and integrated land resources. Dryland productivity is still low and the cropping index is mostly still once a year.  The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the potential of dry land and its development opportunities for agricultural.  Efforts should be made to increase the fertility of acid dry land are through the application of appropriate technology.

Abstract

Ratmini NPS, Atekan A. 2020. The strategi for increasing swamp rice productivity through optimizing land management in South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Swamps is one of the potential agroecosistems to be developed as agricultural land.  Swamps in South Sumatra are estimated around 3 million hectares and which is used for agriculture reached 433 thousand hectares. The main problems in swamps are land management, adoption of technology, and low socio-economic conditions, this result in slow development and low productivity. Strategy to increase land productivity by optimization land through improved irrigation and drainage sistems, balanced fertilization, amelioration, improved varieties and integrated pest control/IPC. The purpose of this paper is to review strategies for increasing swampland through land optimization.

Abstract

Ratmini NPS, Hendra H. 2019. Productivity of tidal swamp rice varieties in diferent types of flooding. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal 2019, Palembang  4-5 September 2019. pp. 559-566. Palembang: Unsri Press. Tidal swamp land is one of the agroecosystems that is the biggest contributor to food in South Sumatra. Increasing productivity of tidal land can be done by applying adaptive varieties. The development of varieties in tidal areas is very diverse. The purpose of this study is to determine the productivity level of several dominant varieties grown on tidal land in various types of flooding. Activities were carried out during the MH 2018/2019 Planting season in the form of interviews with farmer groups representing each type of overflow in Upang Karya village for A-type flooding and Mekar Mukt to represent B and C-Type flooding. Data collected included rice variety, cultivated area, fertilizer used and productivity. The collected data is tabulated and descriptive analysis is performed. The results showed that rice productivity in the same variety was higher in A-type flooding compared with B and C –type flooding . The highest productivity was obtained in Inpari 42 varieties with productivity of 7.4 t/ha and Inpari 32 with productivity 7.2 t/ha.  Varieties that have high adaptability in A, B and C types flooding are Inpari 42 and 32.Keywords: productivity, tides, type of overflow, and varieties

Abstract

Sriratmini et al, 2019. Utilization of Biochar to Increase Sub Optimal Land Productivity. pp. 502-509. Biochar obtained through the incomplete combustion and minimum oxygen, the material used can be agricultural wastes obtained from around us. Utilization of agricultural waste provides two functions, namely as a function of the environment and also the function of land fertility, especially suboptimal land. Utilization of suboptimal land as agricultural land is constrained by the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. This paper discusses some of the functions of biochar associated with increasing suboptimal land productivity both physically, chemically and biologically. From the results of some literature is known that the role of biochar will be greatly influenced from the combustion process, combustion temperature, source of raw materials used, the type of soil and and how the application. Biochar applications on suboptimal land can improve soil chemical properties, soil biology and soil physical properties. Improvement of soil properties will improve land productivity and crop productivity.
