Abstract

Background: Family knowledge of chemotherapy side effects has a relationship with family support in cancer patients. When the family has a good level of knowledge about the side effects of cancer treatment by chemotherapy, the family will increasingly provide support to family members who are cancer patients so that they can regularly, proportionately, and according to recommendations following chemotherapy treatment to achieve the healing process .Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about the side effects of chemotherapy treatment with support in colon cancer patients .Methods: This research is a quantitative research research with a correlative type of analytics. Samples of family members of patients in the Semeru Room of Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang totaled 93 people. The research instrument used was a questionnaire .Results: The results showed that most respondents had good knowledge (49.5%). Most respondents were very supportive (66.7%) .Conclusion: The Spearman Correlation statistical test produces a correlation value of (0.249) where the correlation value shows a weak but positive relationship and a significance value of (0.016) where the significance value is < 0.05. The results of statistical tests showed a weak but positive and significant relationship between the level of knowledge about the side effects of chemotherapy treatment and support in colon cancer patients in the Semeru room of Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang. It is expected that the patient's family needs to listen carefully to this explanation in order to understand and provide appropriate support.

Abstract

Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an important skill that nursing students must master. The pandemic period and the development of the digital era have become a challenge in teaching clinical skills to nursing students. One of the methods that is considered effective is Hybrid learning, which is a combination of online and conventional learning. Studies on the effectiveness of hybrid learning, especially in clinical skills CPR, are still very limited. This study aims to determine the effect of hybrid learning on skills of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) of Nursing students of Poltekkes Kemenkes Malang. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a posttest only control group design. The sample consisted of the intervention group and the control group consisted of 68 students. The research instrument uses CPR Standard Operational Procedure in the institution. The results showed that the skills mean of the blended learning intervention group was lower than the conventional learning method control group. Statistical test results using Mann Whitney showed that there was no significant effect of the hybrid learning method on skills (P=0.224>0,05). A student-centered virtual learning environment and an instructor-led laboratory approach for practicing nursing skills independently are necessary for students to be actively engaged and master the required competencies.

Abstract

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) 2018 stated that there is an increase in cancer sufferers every year and increase in cases of breast cancer affecting women with increasing death rates. Cancer will be the biggest obstacle for humans to increase life expectancy. The research method used observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. 40 respondents had breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy using a total sampling technique. The results showed that 37 respondents (92.5%) had high family support and 32 respondents (80%) had low anxiety. The results of the Spearman's rho test show a significance value of 0.000<0.05, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between family support and the level of anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at the oncology clinic at Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang, and correlation coefficient is -0,654, it’s means that the two variables have a strong correlation with a negative value. With good family support, anxiety resulting from separation can be overcome so that patients will feel comfortable while undergoing treatment. Patients who feel comfortable during treatment prevent a decrease in the immune system which affects the healing process. Adequate family support is expected to reduce patient anxiety, so that patients can focus on treatment and recovery.
