Abstract

Quality elderly life is the functional condition of the elderly in optimal conditions so that they can enjoy their old age with meaning, happiness, and usefulness. This study intends to examine the association between family support and depression level and the quality of life of senior patients at the Pasekan Health Center, Indramayu Regency, during the pandemic. This study is quantitative research. The Pasekan Public Health Center, Indramayu Regency's population, consists of an average of 86 senior persons per month; therefore, a total sample is taken. The results showed: 75.6% of families supported the elderly during the pandemic, 53.5% of the elderly experienced moderate depression during the pandemic, and 59.3% of the quality of life of the elderly included moderate criteria. The statistical test for the relationship between family support and the level of depression with the quality of life of the elderly obtained a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between family support and the level of depression in the quality of life of the elderly during the pandemic. It should be remembered that the quality of life of the elderly has to do with family support and the level of depression. The elderly should reduce the things that can cause depression by doing regular exercise, positive thinking, and others, as well as the need for family support so that the impact on the quality of life is increasing.

Abstract

Hypertension is a degenerative disease that increasing in its prevalence. Hypertension requires a long enough time to its treatment, even if there are no symptoms the patients should continue taking medication. So, patients need to obey to take medication. Adherence to taking medication correlated with self-efficacy and family support. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and family support in hypertension treatment adherence of the elderly at Widasari Health Center, Indramayu Regency. The research design is a cross-sectional study. The sample of this research was 78 elderly. The data analysis used univariate to explain independent variables such as self-efficacy and family support, the dependent variable is hypertension treatment adherence, while the bivariate was used to determine the relationship between independent variables and the dependent variable. Dependent variable using the chi-square statistical test. The result of this research showed that 61.5% of the elderly had high self-efficacy criteria, 71.8% of the elderly received their family support, and 60.3% of the elderly obey to hypertension treatment adherence. The chi-square statistical test showed that there was a relationship between self-efficacy and family support with hypertension treatment adherence and also there is a relationship between self-efficacy and the level of adherence to taking medication in people with hypertension. It is recommended to increase the elderly self-efficacy by being able to communicate with fellow elderly who are undergoing hypertension treatment and now have reduced symptoms due to treatment adherence. Nurses should be able to provide health promotion about the importance of self-efficacy and family support in increasing compliance for the elderly undergoing hypertension treatment.

Abstract

Today's Indonesian language not only plays a role as a communication tool, but also has to understand its function as a unified language. In the present condition, the contribution is interpreted as an effort to build character. Basically, character values ​​can be applied in various fields of science, including the Indonesian language. As for learning Indonesian in higher education, the authors choose to express the values ​​contained in the learning materials as an effective way of teaching it to students who are teenagers aged 17-25 years. Efforts to instill character values ​​and creativity for students are a form of support to prepare the younger generation to face Indonesia Gold 2045. In an effort to revive the character values ​​of Indonesian youth, it is necessary to understand that the Indonesian language must be repositioned as an embodiment of youth patriotism in order to carry out the mission. The youth oath is to make Indonesian the language of unity. Through the Indonesian language, it is hoped that the youth can take lessons from the struggles of the youths who have declared the 1928 Youth Oath and are proud to state that Indonesian is a binding and unifying language. ABSTRAK Bahasa Indonesia dewasa ini tidak hanya memegang peranan sebagai alat komunikasi semata, namun juga harus dipahami fungsinya sebagai bahasa persatuan. Dalam kondisi kekinian kontribusi tersebut dimaknai sebagai upaya membangun karakter.Nilai-nilai karakter pada dasarnya dapat diaplikasikan dalam berbagai bidang ilmu, termasuk bahasa Indonesia. Adapun pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di perguruan tinggi, penulis memilih untuk mengungkapkan nilai- nilai yang ada dalam materi pembelajaran sebagai cara yang efektif dalam pengajarannya kepada mahasiswa yang merupakan remaja berumur 17-25 tahun. Upaya penanaman nilai-nilai karakter dan kreatifitas bagi mahasiswa merupakan bentuk dukungan untuk mempersiapkan generasi muda menyongsong Indonesia Emas 2045. Upaya membangkitkan kembali nilai-nilai karakter pemuda Indonesia, maka perlu dipahami bahwa bahasa Indonesia harus direposisi kembali sebagai perwujudan sikap patriotisme pemuda agar bisa mengemban misi sumpah pemuda yakni menjadikan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa persatuan. Melalui bahasa Indonesia, diharapkan para pemuda dapat mengambil pelajaran atas perjuangan para pemuda yang telah mendeklarasikan Sumpah Pemuda 1928 dan bangga menyatakan bahwa bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pengikat dan pemersatu.
