Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the relationship between workers' perspectives on communication, recognition, productivity, and their involvement in the Readymade Garment (RMG) sector policymaking. Research Methodology:  A sample of 226 individuals from the RMG sector in Bangladesh was surveyed using a well-designed questionnaire. The data were examined, and the study's hypotheses were tested, using the statistical program SPSS V.25. In IBM SPSS, the chi-square test and other statistical techniques were used to examine the data. The study investigates the relationship between the independent variables, including communication, employee recognition, and productivity, and the dependent variable, worker perception, using a conceptual framework. Results: There is a positive and significant relationship between employees' perceptions of communication and their involvement in the decision-making process. The study also shows that there is a positive and significant association between workers' perceptions of employee recognition, productivity, and involvement in decision-making in Bangladesh's RMG industry. Additionally, the organization's decision-making process is significantly impacted by employee participation. Limitations: While many studies examined the workers’ participation in decision-making in the various sectors, only a few studies have focused on the RMG sectors to explore the effects of communication, employee recognition, and productivity on the workers’ participation in decision-making. Contributions: The study reveals that the organization’s total effectiveness is reflected in how deeply workers are involved in decision-making. The degree of involvement is a key determining element since encouraging people to engage instead of just dragging them along is essential for enhancing performance and ensuring commitment.

Abstract

In Bangladesh, fungus-related skin diseases are highly prevalent. Until this result began, there was no research in Bangladesh to find the cause and management strategies for fungal infection, but there is still no complete research on it. This survey aimed to evaluate the incidence, etiology, and therapeutic alternatives for various fungal ailments in Bangladesh. The research was carried out in Rajshahi from January to June 2019 by the Pharmacy Department of Varendra University. A compilation of 489 patient data was obtained throughout the investigation using a semi-structured questionnaire. The participants' ages vary from three months to seventy years; 327 are male, and 162 are female. The most prevalent skin conditions among the patients are as follows: ringworm (11.25%), skin infections affecting the ear, nose, fingers, and uterus (11.04%), acne (8.19%), allergy (9.82%), dandruff (5.11%), dermatitis (9.00%), eczema (5.73%), and scabies (7.18%). Student individuals comprise 49.28% of the patients, day workers 16.56%, housewives 16.36%, and employed 14.31%. Patients are housed in 53.17 percent concrete houses, 26.5 percent huts, and 26.18% semi-structures. Patients wash their clothing with tap water at a rate of 52%, followed by tube well water at 21.27%, pond water at 20.45%, and river water at 5.52%. It is evident from this study that fungal diseases affect individuals of all ages, including men and women. An adverse finding of the research was that over forty percent of patients do not receive accurate instructions from their physicians, which raises the risk of drug resistance and further contamination.

Abstract

In Bangladesh, teaching English at the upper secondary level presents a serious challenge and a promising opportunity for educational advancement. The present study examines the complexities of teaching English writing beyond higher secondary education, highlighting the main barriers, and proposes practical recommendations for improvement. Data for this study were retrospectively collected from 120 teachers, students, and parents using a hard-copy survey, digital survey (Google Forms), and in-depth interviews conducted on both face-to-face and online sources. Using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) through Smart PLS 4, the study aimed to test the effectiveness of various teaching methods. The study findings highlight critical factors such as teacher training, curriculum design, and parent-student engagement, even in resource-scarce environments, that support the development of English writing skills. The study also identified the language proficiency gaps and explored how technology-enhanced and interactive teaching methods can improve writing instruction. Based on empirical evidence, this research proposes practical recommendations to overcome the current challenges and facilitate learning outcomes for both educators and students in Bangladesh.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Digital Humanities (DH) in the libraries of Bangladesh, with a focus on integrating digital technologies, staff training, and enhancing the accessibility of digital resources. Given the rapid advancement of digital tools in academic environments, this research aims to assess DH implementation in libraries, identify key challenges, and suggest strategies to enhance their effectiveness and inclusivity. The study adopts both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were collected through two primary methods: Google Forms and interviews, with a sample size of 103 respondents. The data collected were analyzed utilizing Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The study finds a mixed adoption of digital humanities (DH) tools across libraries in Bangladesh, as the use of new technology required to fully digitalize them is still uneven. While urban academic libraries have made substantial progress in digitalizing resources and offering DH-based services, rural libraries continue to face significant barriers due to limited ICT infrastructure, the digital divide, and digital literacy gaps among staff and users. The analysis reveals that the lack of structured training for librarians and insufficient funding for infrastructure development pose significant obstacles. The study also highlights that integrating DH into libraries in Bangladesh is inevitable, as it can transform libraries into digital hubs for knowledge production and dissemination. The study recommends enhancing library ICT infrastructure, reducing the digital divide to make resources accessible to all, and offering digital literacy programs for both staff and library users.
