Abstract

The title of this paper is “Psychological Analysis of Protagonist in Rowling’s Harry Potter and The Sorcerer Stone. The aims this study were to find out the psychological problems of protagonist in it his case the problems of emotional feelings that showed in the story and also the influence of protagonist emotional feelings to his surroundings or his self. The data were collected by reading the novel thoroughly then using the note-taking technique before being identified into Psychology aspect. The collected data were descriptively analyzed by using qualitative-descriptive method to classify the types of protagonist emotional feelings and influence of protagonist emotional feelings to his surroundings or his self-found in the novel. Based on the result of the analysis, it is found there are two kinds of emotional feelings, those are: negative emotional feeling and positive emotional feeling. And the analysis he focused on the psychological analysis of protagonist in dealing with his emotion that showed in the story. According to the data, protagonist emotion can influence his surrounding and his self. It make emotional feeling become an influencer of a situation.

Abstract

Title of this paper is “Values Found in Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia”. The objectives of this research are to find out the values found in The Chronicles of Narnia and to know how the moral values in The Chronicles of Narnia applied for moral education. The method steps consist of three, those are: reading the data source, the selection of the data from the data source, and the analysis of the data taken from the data source. The data for this research is taken from C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia. The result of this research shows that there are a lot of values that appear on this novel, such as wisdom, generosity, patience, friendliness, prudence, honesty, justice, friendship, compassion, reasonableness, conscientiousness, self-discipline, industriousness, cooperativeness, self-reliance, courage, not selfish, courteousness, loyalty, thoughtfulness, sacrifice, dependability, trust, tolerance. This novel taught how to be a good human and taught how attitude in daily life. This novel is really good for moral education.

Abstract

The title of this scientific writing is Agoraphobia Problem of Anna Fox in The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn. The aims of this research were to find out the agoraphobia problem experienced by Anna Fox found in the novel and the influences of agoraphobia toward herself and her surroundings. The data are collected by reading the novel repeatedly and using the note-taking technique to find out the statements that related to the topic. Based on the result of the analysis, it is found that Anna Fox’s agoraphobia problem because of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The disease influences herself and her surroundings by ruins her body because consuming a lot of drugs, made her lose her job, made her have a bad temperament, depression, and made her insecure.

Abstract

This research analyzes the character Sri Sumarah by Umar Kayam (A Study of Javanese Culture). Through the characters in Sri Sumarah, this research aims to describe and discover aspects of Javanese cultural values, especially in wayang characters. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with analytical descriptive analysis. Primary sources were obtained from library research in the form of the novel Sri Sumarah by Umar Kayam (1995) and secondary sources were also used through relevant literature reviews. The approach used to explain characterization in Sri Sumarah's literary works is a structural approach related to intrinsic structure including theme, incident, character, plot, language style, story technique and composition. The extrinsic structure includes historical, sociological, psychological, religious and philosophical aspects. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that Sri Sumarah is a Javanese woman with a strong and resilient personality in facing various life problems. He is depicted as a figure who places Subadra and Kunti as role models. For almost all his life, Sri Sumarah played a very dominant role over the two puppet characters. The characters in Sri Sumarah succeed in presenting a strong characterization structure as described by the author.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the level of community hygiene or sanitation and promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tegak Village, Klungkung Regency during the Pandemic Period. This is done by implementing several programs. This activity can be carried out thanks to the collaboration between Warmadewa University and the people of Upright Village. This study was written with a qualitative method, and data collection was carried out by direct observation and interviews. This service activity is carried out by helping promote MSMEs through social media platforms, educating on how to wash hands properly, distributing free masks, and installing educational posters for COVID-19 prevention, as well as assisting with COVID-19 vaccination activities, and assisting after-care activities such as the construction of MCK facilities. and tree planting. The programs that have been implemented well in Tegak Village, Klungkung District, Klungkung Regency include the promotion program for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), an educational program on how to wash hands properly, a program for distributing free masks and the installation of educational posters for COVID-19 prevention, a program to assist in the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination, assisting posyandu activities, handing over direct cash assistance (BLT) for Upright Village funds for the 2021 fiscal year 2021 phase V in May 2021, the village SDGs population data survey program in 2021, and programs to improve sanitation and care for the environment.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi angka penyandang buta aksara. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan cara sosialisasi, koordinasi, dan bimbingan belajar. Dua kegiatan tersebut juga didukung oleh tiga program pendukung. Program-program tersebut dapat dilakukan berkat kerja sama Universitas Warmadewa dengan masyarakat Desa Duda, khususnya kepada masyarakat lansia juga SDN 1 Duda dan SDN 3 Duda. Dalam kegiatan bimbingan belajar, diimplementasikan pendekatan individual. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif, dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode interview dan observasi lapangan. Sosialisasi yang diberikan untuk masyarakat lansia Desa Duda berisikan materi seputar buta aksara. Bimbingan belajar yang diberikan untuk siswa sekolah dasar yang dibagi menjadi kelompok kelas 1-3 berupa materi membaca, menulis, dan berhitung. Sedangkan, untuk kelompok kelas 4-6 diberikan bimbingan belajar tenttang Bahasa Inggris. Program pendukung yang dilakukan berupa program UKM, pelepasan bibit ikan nila, dan pembuatan green house.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang mana dilakukan dengan cara pelatihan bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan cara pengajaran di kelas dan bimbingan belajar di luar kelas. Program ini dapat dilakukan atas kerja sama Universitas Warmadewa dengan masyarakat Banjar Petang Suci, khususnya pihak SD N 1 Petang guna mempersiapkan generasi penerus yang akan bersaing di masa depan. Dalam proses pembelajaran diimplementasikan metode diskusi dan latihan soal. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif, dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode interview dan observasi lapangan. Materi yang diberikan kepada peserta didik berupa Bahasa Inggris dasar yang mencakup reading, writing, speaking, dan listening. Peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pengajaran dan bimbingan belajar yang digelar di Banjar Petang Suci, Kabupaten Badung, khususnya di SD N 1 Petang dan posko Mahasiswa KKN Warmadewa Petang Suci.

Abstract

This activity aims to strengthen ecotourism in order to improve the quality of life of the people of Siangan Village, Giamyar Regency. This is done by implementing various programs including, the community empowerment program is carried out with various activities, including: empowering the Siangan Village community in source-based waste management, developing interest in learning at the elementary school level in Siangan Village, promoting and planning the Siangan Village ecotourism route, preparing a tourism village master plan and assisting posyandu activities, empowering SMEs and livestock breeders in Siangan Village. Apart from these main activities, additional activities are also carried out, such as; matur piuning activities, activities for cleaning the KKN-PMM post area of ​​Siangan Village, helping ngayah in the banjar teruna of Siangan Village in preparation for the Pitra Yadnya ceremony, making wall magazines (mading) for the Siangan Village office, activities for helping to install flags at the Siangan Village office, attending invitation to take a leisurely walk to commemorate Seka Teruna Teruni's birthday in Banjar Bandung, cleaning the Gulung Tikeh Waterfall area in Siangan Village. This research was conducted using qualitative methods, and data collection was carried out using interview and field observation methods. The community was very enthusiastic in participating in a series of activities organized by Warmadewa University KKN students.
