Abstract

Rice fields are one of the main sources of high nitrous oxide N2O emission. Soil denitrifiers possessing high N2O reduction activity are important for controlling N2O emission. Nitrous oxide reduction is the last step of denitrification process. The aims of this study were to characterize and to identify denitrifying bacteria isolated from rice soils possessing high activity of N2O reduction. Soil samples were taken from 6 locations of rice fields in Bogor (West Java) and Tangerang (Banten), Indonesia. Physiological characterization was performed using API 20 NE, while molecular identification was conducted based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence. It was found that ten isolates of denitrifying bacteria were able to grow using N2O as an electron acceptor as indicated by decreasing N2O concentration in the headspace of the cultures. The bacterial growth indicated by optical density, increased up to 0.12-0.47 after 5 days incubation. Isolate BL2 had the highest activity of N2O reduction followed by BL1 and BLN1 at up to 5.41, 4.09, and 3.91 μmol mL-1 bacterial cultures, respectively. The BL1, BL2, and BLN1 isolates had some different physiological characteristics. Based on their 16S rRNA sequence, BL1 and BLN1 were closely related to Ochrobactrum anthropi ATCC 49188 with similarity of 99%.

Abstract

Having good communication skills can make someone easily accepted in an organization and will get a positive response in the communication that has been built. The purpose of this study was to see if there is a significant influence between Student Engagement and Student Communication Skills. The research method used is a quantitative research method. Data were collected through a google form using a Likert scale of 1-5 from 62 respondents from the Dharmaduta Department Student Association of the Raden Wijaya State Buddhist College which will later be tested for validity, reliability, and hypothesis influence. The results of the study using a simple linear regression test showed a significant value (Sig.) for student engagement (X) of 0.000 and R Square of 0.409, a significant value <0.05 so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that student engagement has a significant effect on communication skills. Based on these results, it can be concluded that student engagement has a role in shaping student communication skills by 40.9%.

Abstract

This study There is ineffective communication in Wonogiri Market which causes failure in negotiation. Ineffectiveness in negotiation also makes sellers and buyers not have a purchase agreement, sometimes there is a compulsion of sellers so that the goods they sell are immediately sold out so that many other traders compete to provide lower prices. This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of communication on the success of negotiations between sellers and buyers in Wonogiri Traditional Market. This study is a quantitative study with a simple linear regression analysis method. This research was conducted in Wonogiri traditional market, on sellers and buyers in March - May 2025. The population of this study was 110 sellers, while the sample used was 84 sellers. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression with the help of the SPSS 25 program. Based on the results of the study and data analysis, it shows that there is an influence of interpersonal communication on the success of negotiations in Wonogiri Traditional Market of 0.581.

Abstract

Learning is a process carried out by teachers with students both individually and in groups. In elementary school there are many subjects, one of which is English. English is one of the local content in elementary schools. Motivation to learn English is very important so teachers must use varied educational methods. English is local content found in Elementary School. To increase students learning motivation, they can use many methods, one of which is giving rewards. Rewards are gifts. Gifts can be in the form of praise, snacks, signs of respect and appreciation. In this study, the rewards used were star point, snacks, and canteen vouchers. This research uses a qualitative method, namely a post-positivism method with natural conditions by placing the researcher as a small tool or instrument. The aim of the research was to ensure that by providing rewards students learning motivation would increase and their level of understanding of English would also increase. The result of the research show that giving rewards has an impact on increasing student learning motivation. Through giving rewards, students have a sense of competition with their classmates, students become active in learning and dare to express their opinions in the English learning process.
