Abstract

The number of children under five years in Indonesia is approximately 10 percent from the overall population; therefore it needs serious attention to improve the quality of their development as these children will become the next generation of the nation. The examination of child development by using Pre-screening developmental questionnaire (Kuesioner Pre Screening Perkembangan (KPSP) is one of the competences of the midwivesTo improve the quality of student learning outcomes, teachers should provides creative and interesting learning sources which are easily understood by the students. Video is one of the learning media considered more effective to use because it stimulates sight, hearing, and kinesthetic (movement) at one time (at a time). Further, it enables open discussion among students and facilitators. This research aimed to produce a product of audio visual learning media or video material used in child examination by using KPSP. The type of research undertaken is product-oriented research and development.Research is conducted by involving the product design stage, product making and development, and product evaluation. The research findingsare (1) the audio visual media or learning video used for teaching child development by using KPSP, (2) material experts, media experts, education experts and students state that video as the learning media to explain child development by using KPSP is considered feasible. Audio-visual media of children's developmental examination materials using KPSP can be used as an alternative learning media to improve students' motivation and creativity in improving child's developmental examination skills.

Abstract

Globally AIDS is the second leading cause of death in adolescents aged 10-19 years. This study is focus to conduct research on the development of monopoly games as a health promotion media to increase adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS. The objective was to determine the effect of counseling using a monopoly games of HIV/AIDS on increasing adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS. The study is designed with quasy-experimental research. Study design with pretest-posttest with the control group. The study samples are 40 adolescents in 11th grade of Science Class I and 11th grade of Social Class I at Muhammadiyah 5 Senior High School for treatment group as well as 40 adolescent girls in 11th grade of Science Class II and 11th grade of Social Class II at Muhammadiyah 5 Senior High School for control group in 2019. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data collection uses a questionnaire to measure knowledge. Paired sample t-test in the treatment group (p-value = 0,000) and the control group (p-value = 0,002). There is an effect on increasing knowledge between the treatment group and the control group. Independent sample t-test shows a difference with p-value = 0,000. The mean value in the treatment group is 14,563 while the mean in the control group is 3,563 (14,563> 3,563). Using the monopoly games of HIV/AIDS further increases adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS.

Abstract

The competence of midwives and mother's independence in early detection of high-risk pregnancies and prevention of stunting are important factors to improve health status in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of SIBINAR on increasing the competence of midwives and the independence of pregnant women in early detection of pregnancy risk and stunting prevention. This type of research was a quasi-experimental with a pre-test post-test design. The subjects in this study were all midwives and pregnant women in Indonesia. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The calculation of the sample size using the formula for the difference in the mean of independent samples. The number of samples of midwives was 80, the number of samples of pregnant women was 30. There was effect of SIBINAR on the improvement of midwife competence in early detection of pregnancy risk (pre-test mean=65.86; post-test mean=80.95; SD=15.09 (11.03); p-value=0.000) and stunting prevention (pre-test mean=60.44; post-test mean=1.53; SD=31.09 (11.03); p-value=0.000). There was effect of SIBINAR on independence of pregnant women in early detection of pregnancy risk (pre-test mean=79.5; post-test mean=99.06; SD=19.48 (54.3); p-value=0.000) and stunting prevention (pre-test mean=67.86; post-test mean=3.82; SD=5.96 (15.5); p-value=0.000). There is an effect of SIBINAR on increasing the competence of midwives in early detection of pregnancy risk and stunting prevention and there is an effect of SIBINAR on pregnant women's independence in early detection of pregnancy risk and stunting prevention.

Abstract

The percentage of nutritional status of stunting toddlers (short and very short) in Indonesia in 2013 is 37.2%. One of stunting effects is the growth disorder that will have an impact on the decline in the quality of human resources in the future. Kulon Progo Regency is one of districts included in the 100 districts in stunting prevention. This study aims at recognizing the developmental status of stunting toddlers in the Working Areas of Pengasih II Health Center in Kulon Progo Regency. Cross sectional approach is used for this research. The populations were 90 stunting toddlers who lived in Karangsari Village. The data were taken from Public Health Office in Kulon Progo, and the measurement directly used KPSP from 5 to 17 January 2019. The resuly of this study describes that most toddlers are male in 55.6%, economical status < UMK in 77.8%, exclusive breadfeeding status of 94.4%, middle school’s last education in 73.3%, mothers who did not work in 78.9%. The development status of the toddler is short, 53.3% of the development is appropriate, 36.7% is dubious and 1.1% is deviant. Toddlers are very short, 6.7% development is appropriate, 1.1% development is doubtful, and 1.1% development deviates. The conclusion of this study discovers that the developmental status of stunting toddlers in the Working Areas of Pengasih II Health Center in Kulon Progo Regency is appropriate if people pay attention on the other aspects such as giving exclusive breastfeeding, giving the stimulation by parents and participation in PAUD, and taking the last education for mothers.

Abstract

Assistance to healthy schools is carried out to support the culture of the quality of Kanisius Sengkan Elementary School. The school environment serves as a place of learning can also be a threat of disease transmission if not managed properly. More than that, school age for children is also a vulnerable period for various diseases. At the stage of school age children 6-12 years children need special attention because at that stage children do a lot of physical activity, can already react to intellectual stimuli, and carry out learning tasks that demand intellectual abilities or cognitive abilities. Health School Programs development is needed as an effort to foster, develop, and improve the ability to live healthy and health status of students. Clean and healthy behavior in school is important. School-age children are children in periods where children are difficult, age is not neat, critical periods for forming habits, group age, age of play, and in the age of play. The evaluation instrument for knowledge outcomes takes the form of a multiple choice written test. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis with percentages. Knowledge of clean and healthy behavior includes personal hygiene at school consisting of 7 factors, namely hand washing, nail hygiene, dress hygiene, dental and mouth hygiene, removing trash, and sports.

Abstract

The Novel Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic had a significant impact on human survival. This phenomenon causes changes in various aspects of life such as the teaching and learning process, it moved at home by e-learning and adolescent must experience anxiety, stress or boredom. The purpose of this study is to increase parents' knowledge about the influence of parents' attachment to adolescent stress. The method is an online meeting through a zoom ­­meeting. The study was carried out in Sukoharjo, Ngaglik District, Sleman Regency involving 50 teenagers' parents. There is an influence of parents’ attachment to adolescent stress during the COVID-19 pandemic and the stress level of adolescents depends on their attachment to parents. After 3 months of implementing the mentoring activities, 88 % of the respondents have a good category about the influence of parents’ attachment to adolescent stress during the COVID-19 pandemic.
