Abstract

Antibacterial activity test Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhihas been performed by microencapsulation product of rogo essential oil (Premnaserratifolia Linn). This study aims to determine rogo oil activity test and microencapsulation results as antibacterial S. aureus and S. typhi. The results of antibacterial activity of rogo liquid oil to S. aureus and S. Typhi bacteria showed different inhibitory power of each concentration variation of 12.5%, 25%, 50% and 100% with 100% concentration as the best inhibitor for both bacteria. While the antibacterial activity test of S. aureus and S. typhi from microencapsulated rogo oil: maltodextrin showed the difference of each variation of concentration 1:10; 1:12; 1:14; 1:16 and 1:18 with a 1:14 composition of S. aureus and 1:18 in S. typhi as the best ratio of activity power. The antibacterial activity test between liquid rogo oil and microencapsulated result shows the difference, but it can be concluded that the inhibitory power of rogo oil from microencapsulation is more inhibited than 100% rogo oil.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda dari instrumen tes diagnostik tiga tingkat yang dikembangkan dan bagaimana profil miskonsepsi peserta didik SMA Negeri 1 Kulisusu pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research & Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yang diterapkan tanpa menggunakan tahapan diseminasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 56 peserta didik kelas X MIPA yang terdiri dari X Mipa 3 dan X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 1 Kulisusu. Bentuk instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik tiga tingkat untuk 20 butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dengan nilai rata-rata kevalidan sebesar 87%. Butir dinyatakan reliabel dengan koefisien reliabilitas yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 0,74. Tingkat kesukaran soal terdiri atas 3 butir soal mudah, 10 butir sedang dan 7 butir sukar. Tetapi memiliki daya pembeda yang tergolong sangat baik membuka 5 butir, baik membuka 9 butir, cukup membuka 4 butir dan tidak membuka 3 butir. Profil miskonsepsi peserta didik menujukkan bahwa sebanyak 4 peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi kategori tinggi, sebanyak 25 peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi kategori sedang dan sebanyak 27 peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi kategori rendah, dimana peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi pada sub konsep sifat larutan elektrolit sebesar 35,71%, sub konsep kelompokkan solusi berdasarkan daya hantar listriknya sebesar 36,79% dan sub konsep jenis kimia dan sifat elektrolit suatu zat sebesar 37,

Abstract

The research “Development of Guided Inkuiry-Based Student Worksheets to Improve Student Learning Outcomes on Colloidal Material” aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and efeectivennes of guided inkuiry-based student worksheets on colloidal material. The research and development (R&D) the Thiagarajan model. The development procedure includes the defining, designing and developing stages. The sample in this study were 10 students of class XI IPA 4. The research instrument used validation sheets, test questions sheets and student response questionnaire sheets. The research data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the guided inquiry-based worksheet products that had been developed and assessed by expert validators were in the average percentage  of 84,83%, student responses to guided inquiry-based worksheets obtained a percentage of 78,32% in the category feasible and the level of effectiveness obtained by moderate category cazb be said to be quite effective.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Mengetahui kualitas video sparkol pada materi sistem koloid yang dikembangkan untuk siswa kelas XI MIPA 5, dan (2) Mengetahui media pembelajaran berbasis video sparkol yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelas XI MIPA 5. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap TA 2022/2023 di SMAN 4 Kendari dengan jumlah 40 siswa. Pengembangan media menggunakan metode ADDIE dan pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket validasi, respon siswa, dan soal pre-test dan post-test. Proses pembelajaran menghasilkan kualitas video sparkol yang dikembangkan pada materi sistem koloid di kelas XI MIPA 5, berdasarkan penilaian validator dengan persentase rata-rata yang diperoleh yaitu 82,91% masuk kategori “Sangat layak”, dan media pembelajaran berbasis video sparkol yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di kelas XI MIPA 5 yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai rata-rata N-Gain 0,74 dengan kategori “Tinggi”.

Abstract

Chemistry learning not only requires students to understand concepts theoretically but also emphasizes scientific skills through laboratory activities. However, student's science process skills and learning outcomes in acid–base titration remain relatively low. Therefore, a teaching method that actively involves students in the learning process is needed. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the experimental method on student's science process skills and learning outcomes in acid–base titration at SMA Negeri 4 Konawe Selatan. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest– Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 25 twelfth-grade students from Class XII A of SMA Negeri 4 Konawe Selatan. The research instruments included a science process skills observation sheet, a learning outcomes test, and a student response questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and n-Gain analysis. The results showed that the implementation of the experimental method had a positive effect on student's science process skills and learning outcomes. The mean science process skills score was 71.14, which was categorized as very good. Student’s learning outcomes improved from a mean pretest score of 45.60 to a mean posttest score of 83.80, with a mean n-Gain score of 0.71, which was categorized as high. In addition, student’s responses to the implementation of the experimental method obtained an average percentage of 83.53, which was classified as very good. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the experimental method is effective for teaching acid–base titration in chemistry because it improves student’s science process skills and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of student misconceptions and identify the factors causing these misconceptions regarding the topic of thermochemistry students at SMA Negeri 7 Kendari. This descriptive study employed a quantitative approach, involving 32 students from class XI Merdeka 5, selected via purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of a 25-item two-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test, a questionnaire on the causes of misconceptions, and interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results indicate an average student learning outcome score of 57.38, with the majority of students failing to meet the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria. Diagnostic test results revealed the following average distribution: 14.00% understood the concepts, 40.20% held misconceptions, 15.27% guessed, and 10.47% did not understand the concepts. The highest rates of misconception were found regarding the indicators of enthalpy change properties and bond energy (45.00% each), while the lowest rate was associated with the system and surroundings indicator (23.75%). Questionnaire analysis showed that the causes of misconceptions stemmed from internal factors specifically cognitive aspects (55%), learning interest (60.31%), and learning motivation (61.25%) as well as external factors, including school-related elements (61%) and environmental factors (54.45%). In conclusion, the level of student misconception regarding thermochemistry falls into the moderate category and is influenced by both internal and external factors.
