Abstract

Research has been carried out to examine the use and mastery of ICT for science teachers in underdeveloped areas. This study aims to: obtain valid data regarding teachers' ICT knowledge and skills; knowing the extent to which the teacher implements ICT knowledge and skills in the classroom; identify the factors faced by teachers in implementing ICT in learning; to determine support and effective ICT development strategies to be applied to teachers. The research method is a survey, practical test, and statistical validation. It found that male teachers, young teachers, honorary teachers, and secondary school teachers tended to have higher ICT competence. It was found that the ICT applications that have been used by more than 50% of teachers are word processing, presentation processing, internet, and document navigation. The analysis results show that only about 2% of teachers stated that ICTs had little effect on their learning in the classroom and that training on how to do this had the most positive impact on teachers. It can be concluded that professional training on ICT needs to be effectively and sustainably provide; continuing to improve ICT infrastructure in schools will positively impact the use of ICT by teachers; teachers' overall attitude is very positive for self-development.

Abstract

This Thematic Real Work Integrated with Community Service aims to increase the literacy of the people of Southeast Sulawesi regarding COVID-19 and how to mitigate it by using creative content media. This thematic program is one form of community service, so that its implementation follow the action research method with 5 (five) stages, i.e. (1) Diagnosis; (2) Planning; (3) Implementation; (4) Evaluation; and (5) Special learning. This thematic program was attended by 22 students under supervision of three field lecturers and lasted for 30 days online. During this program, more than 20 posters/e-cards and 30 videos have been produced. The content has been disseminated on various social media through the accounts of students and supervisors as well as other internet media. Based on the results of creative content in the form of posters, the public can improve their literacy on social and physical distancing as an effort to accelerate COVID-19 mitigation. Meanwhile, creative content in the form of videos can train the public on how to use and prepare their own hand sanitizer, masks, and PPE by utilizing materials found around them. Thus, it can be concluded that this thematic program has succeeded in providing guidance and debriefing to the people of Southeast Sulawesi as a mitigation effort against the COVID-19 outbreak.

Abstract

The use of ecoenzymes is an effort to answer the problem of using inorganic fertilizers and environmental damage which is increasingly being used among farmers because their use has a negative impact. The target of implementing community service activities that are integrated with the Thematic KKN program are farmers in Lebo Jaya Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency which have been designated as Organic Agriculture Areas. Most of the farmers in Lebo Jaya Village still use inorganic fertilizers and synthetic pesticides. The purpose of this activity is to provide farmers with an understanding of organic farming through training on making ecoenzymes. The output of this activity is that farmers are expected to gradually reduce or even no longer use inorganic fertilizers and start switching to the application of organic farming based on household waste.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda dari instrumen tes diagnostik tiga tingkat yang dikembangkan dan bagaimana profil miskonsepsi peserta didik SMA Negeri 1 Kulisusu pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research & Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yang diterapkan tanpa menggunakan tahapan diseminasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 56 peserta didik kelas X MIPA yang terdiri dari X Mipa 3 dan X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 1 Kulisusu. Bentuk instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik tiga tingkat untuk 20 butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dengan nilai rata-rata kevalidan sebesar 87%. Butir dinyatakan reliabel dengan koefisien reliabilitas yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 0,74. Tingkat kesukaran soal terdiri atas 3 butir soal mudah, 10 butir sedang dan 7 butir sukar. Tetapi memiliki daya pembeda yang tergolong sangat baik membuka 5 butir, baik membuka 9 butir, cukup membuka 4 butir dan tidak membuka 3 butir. Profil miskonsepsi peserta didik menujukkan bahwa sebanyak 4 peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi kategori tinggi, sebanyak 25 peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi kategori sedang dan sebanyak 27 peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi kategori rendah, dimana peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi pada sub konsep sifat larutan elektrolit sebesar 35,71%, sub konsep kelompokkan solusi berdasarkan daya hantar listriknya sebesar 36,79% dan sub konsep jenis kimia dan sifat elektrolit suatu zat sebesar 37,

Abstract

Experiments have been successfully carried out to react with lactic acid and 1,4-butanediol, tin (II) chloride dihydrate (SnCl2.2H2O), chloroform, methanol, liquid nitrogen, nitrogen gas, and silicone oil at various concentrations. The objective exists to synthesize polylactic acid by forming polylactic acid diol (PLA-OH) via a direct polycondensation reaction of lactic acid and 1,4-butanediol in a glass reactor following a specific reaction scheme. Synthesis was carried out using different amounts of reagents according to the predetermined mole ratio of lactic acid (AL) and 1,4-butanediol (BD). The FTIR, 1H NMR, and GPC analyses that characterized the PLA-OH revealed its physicochemical characteristics. The FTIR and 1H NMR characterization results show new absorption peaks and a shift in PLA-OH absorption peaks. It indicates that a bond has been formed from the reaction between lactic acid molecules and 1,4-butanediol to produce PLA-OH. From the spectrum analysis, it can be concluded that the structure of the synthesized PLA-OH has four different proton environments (there are four different peaks in the spectrum). The peaks originate from the protons in methylene (-OCH2CH2CH2CH2O), internal methine (-O-CH-), and methine at the end of the PLA-OH chain, as well as proton peaks in methyl (H3C-). The characterization results with GPC showed that the tendency to increase Mn PLA was directly proportional to the increasing amount of lactic acid in the PLA chain

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of basic chemistry and the diversification of academic backgrounds of first-year students that hinder in-depth understanding of concepts. The problem focuses on testing the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach on student academic achievement. This quantitative study applies a quasi-experimental method using a pretest-posttest control group design in two study groups. The instrument used is an objective learning outcome test consisting of 20 validated multiple-choice questions. The results show that the average posttest score of the experimental class reached 77, while the control class only obtained a score of 61. This superiority is reinforced by the achievement of the N-gain index of the experimental group of 0.6 which exceeds the control class with an achievement of 0.4. Based on the inferential independent sample t-test using the SPSS program, a significance value of 0.000 was found to be less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference in achievement. The main conclusion of the study confirms that the application of the PjBL model with the STEM approach has proven to be much more effective in boosting student learning outcomes evenly compared to the conventional model. This interdisciplinary approach successfully facilitates students in constructing a meaningful understanding of stoichiometry through applied projects that connect mathematical calculations with real scientific phenomena in the laboratory. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar kimia dasar serta diversifikasi latar belakang akademik mahasiswa angkatan awal yang menghambat pemahaman konsep secara mendalam. Masalah difokuskan pada pengujian pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terintegrasi pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) terhadap capaian akademis mahasiswa. Studi kuantitatif ini menerapkan metode eksperimen semu menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control group pada dua kelompok belajar. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar objektif sebanyak 20 butir soal pilihan ganda yang telah tervalidasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen mencapai 77, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya memperoleh skor 61. Keunggulan ini diperkuat oleh capaian indeks N-gain kelompok eksperimen sebesar 0,6 yang melampaui kelas kontrol dengan raihan 0,4. Berdasarkan uji inferensial independent sample t-test menggunakan bantuan program SPSS, ditemukan nilai signifikansi 0,000 kurang dari 0,05 yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan capaian secara nyata. Simpulan utama penelitian menegaskan bahwa penerapan model PjBL dengan pendekatan STEM terbukti jauh lebih efektif dalam mendongkrak hasil belajar mahasiswa secara merata dibandingkan model konvensional. Pendekatan interdisipliner ini sukses memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam mengonstruksi pemahaman stoikiometri secara bermakna lewat proyek aplikatif yang menghubungkan perhitungan matematis dengan fenomena sains riil di laboratorium.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students in atomic structure material indicate the need for instructional materials that actively engage learners in the learning process. One alternative is a discovery learning-based teaching module that facilitates students in constructing concepts independently. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a discovery learning-based teaching module in improving students’ learning outcomes on atomic structure material. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants were 14 students of Class X Merdeka A at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Barkah Sumber Jaya. The research instruments consisted of learning achievement tests, learning implementation observation sheets, and student and teacher response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the implementation of teacher and student activities reached 85.2% and 84.4%, respectively, both categorized as very good. Students’ responses to the module reached 92.86% in the strongly agree category, while the teacher response indicated a practicality level of 85% in the very practical category. Students’ learning outcomes improved significantly, as indicated by the increase in the mean score from 32.50 in the pretest to 85.36 in the posttest, while learning mastery increased from 7.14% to 100%. The average N-Gain score was 0.80, categorized as high, indicating that the discovery learning-based teaching module was effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. These findings suggest that the module can serve as an effective instructional alternative to enhance students’ conceptual understanding of atomic structure in chemistry learning. ABSTRAK Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada materi struktur atom menunjukkan perlunya penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan adalah modul ajar berbasis discovery learning yang memfasilitasi siswa untuk menemukan konsep secara mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas modul ajar berbasis discovery learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi struktur atom. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pre-experimental dan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian adalah 14 siswa kelas X Merdeka A Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Barkah Sumber Jaya. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, serta angket respon siswa dan guru. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan aktivitas guru dan siswa masing-masing mencapai 85,2% dan 84,4% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yang ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan nilai rata-rata dari 32,50 pada pretest menjadi 85,36 pada posttest, dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 7,14% menjadi 100%. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,80 berada pada kategori tinggi yang menunjukkan bahwa modul ajar berbasis discovery learning efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa modul ajar berbasis discovery learning dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif perangkat pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep kimia pada materi struktur atom.

Abstract

Chemistry learning on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials is often hindered by the limited availability of innovative and problem-based instructional materials. This study aims to develop a valid and practical Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model for electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials for 12th-grade students at SMAN 13 Konawe Selatan. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), limited to the Develop stage. The limited trial subjects consisted of 9 students from class XII.2 selected through purposive sampling based on high, medium, and low cognitive ability categories, along with 1 chemistry teacher. Data were collected through media expert and material expert validation sheets, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires that had undergone content validity prior to use. The results indicate that the developed LKPD obtained a media expert validation score of 91.88% and a material expert validation score of 89.21%, both categorized as highly feasible. The practicality level was demonstrated by a student response rate of 86.28% and a teacher response rate of 94.25%, with a combined average of 90.27% categorized as very good. Based on these results, the PBL-based LKPD is declared valid and practical, making it suitable for implementation as an effective chemistry learning tool at the senior high school level. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran kimia pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit kerap terhambat oleh keterbatasan bahan ajar yang inovatif dan berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang valid dan praktis pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit untuk peserta didik kelas XII SMA Negeri 13 Konawe Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) yang dibatasi hingga tahap Develop. Subjek uji coba terbatas terdiri atas 9 peserta didik kelas XII.2 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling berdasarkan kategori kemampuan kognitif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, serta 1 guru mata pelajaran kimia. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar validasi ahli media dan ahli materi, serta angket respon guru dan peserta didik yang telah melalui validasi isi sebelum digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD yang dikembangkan memperoleh persentase validasi ahli media sebesar 91,88% dan ahli materi sebesar 89,21%, keduanya dalam kategori sangat layak. Tingkat kepraktisan produk ditunjukkan oleh respon peserta didik sebesar 86,28% dan respon guru sebesar 94,25%, dengan rata-rata gabungan 90,27% dalam kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, LKPD berbasis PBL dinyatakan valid dan praktis sehingga layak diimplementasikan sebagai bahan ajar kimia yang efektif di tingkat SMA.
