Abstract

Abstract: The problem in this case study is the high index of DMF-T in Piton 1 Elementary School. The purpose of this study was to find the correlation of nutritional status with DMF-T among students in Piton 1 Elementary School. This type of research is analytic observational research with cross sectional approach. The population in this case study was Piton 1 Elementary Schools's students with a large sample of 60 students. The method used for data collection is the inspection method. The analysis technique used is the chi-square data analysis tehnique. The results showed that there was no relationship between nutritional status and DMF-T among students in Piton 1 Elementary School, Punung District, Pacitan Regency. Abstract

One of the complications of diabetes mellitus in the field of dentistry is oral diabetic including dry mouth (xerostomia), bleeding gums (gingivitis), tartar (calculus), alveolar bone resorption, and periodontitis. Periodontitis is a complication that often occurs in people with diabetes mellitus with high prevalence rates up to 75% (Nandya, et al, 2012 in Lestari, et al, 2016). The City of Probolinggo itself has a proportion of dental and oral health problems of approximately 65% ​​- 70% and those caring for teeth approximately 8.5% - 10% of the population of 217,062 people. The problem with this research is the high prevalence of periodontitis in the Maron Public Health Center, Probolinggo Regency. This study aims to find out Motivation about the Maintenance of Dental and Oral Health (Periodontitis) in Diabetes Mellitus Patients in Maron Health Center, Probolinggo Regency. The method is by filling questionnaires and examinations, this type of research is descriptive targeting 30 people with Diabetes Mellitus. The results showed that motivation for encouragement included strong (75%), motivation for strong expectations (71%), motivation for strong reward (59%). It can be concluded that the motivation of Diabetes Mellitus patients about oral health is strong (69%). Keyword : motivation, health maintenance, diabetes mellitus, leaflets.

Abstract

The problem with this study is that the percentage of caries of pregnant mothers' teeth at the Ngumpakdalem center Dander Bojonegoro district 60,94% of free targets karies 54.6%. The purpose of the study discovered mom's motivation for oral hygiene in the Ngumdalem Hospital District Dander Bojonegoro. A descriptive method of research. The targets involved in this study are 30 expectant mothers who are 20-30 years of age. Instruments used in Research is a questionnaire. Studies have shown that mothers' motivation for oral hygiene in the medical center is pure Ngumpakdalem district Dander Bojonegoro year in Strong category. The conclusion that the expectant mother already had the motivation to keep her teeth and mouth clean. Keywords: motivation, hygiene and oral hygiene, the mother is pregnant

Abstract

Tooth loss is a cause of decreased masticatory function that affects the oral cavity and general health in the elderly. The elderly was expected to have at least 20 working teeth, meaning that the masticatory, aesthetic and speech functions were considered normal, although less than 32 teeth. This study aims to determine the relationship between the dental and oral health of the elderly with the number of functioning teeth at the Hargo Dedali Nursing Home in Surabaya. This type of research is analytic with a cross sectional design. The total population is 38 elderly and the research sample is 35 elderly using random sampling technique with purposive sampling. Method analyzed technique uses the Pearson Correlation test. The result of this research is the elderly population is female. Their age range is between 60-92 years. Questions were answered correctly overall by 48.1%. The most questions answered incorrectly about tooth loss by 67.9%. There are 3 elderly who have 20 working teeth. The average working gear is 9.3 or 9 teeth per person. Data are normally distributed. There is a relationship between the two variables (0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion of this research is smaller the value of dental and oral health knowledge of the elderly, the less the number of teeth that work. The benefits of this research can provide awareness and motivation for families, nursing home managers, health workers in an effort to serve dental and oral health in the elderly.

Abstract

Periodontitis is one of the most common periodontal diseases with an incidence of approximately 10% of adults worldwide. Periodontitis can lead to tooth loss, which has negative impact on chewing function, aesthetics and can affect the quality of life of the sufferer. High percentage of elderly with periodontitis in Posyandu Lansia RW 07 Gunung Anyar Tambak Village, Surabaya. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between oral health maintenance of the elderly and the incidence of periodontitis in the Posyandu Lansia RW 07 Gunung Anyar Tambak Village, Surabaya. The type of research conducted was analytical research with a cross sectional method, with a sample of 35 elderly people at the RW 07 Posyandu Lansia, Gunung Anyar Tambak Village, Surabaya. The data collection instrument used is a questionnaire used to measure oral health maintenance and an examination sheet to identify periodontitis. The data analysis techniques using Spearman's rho. Conclusion : The average maintenance of oral health of the elderly in answering the research questionnaire was categorized as sufficient at 70.8%. Elderly people who experience periodontitis are 65.72%. There is a strong relationship between oral health maintenance and periodontitis.
