Abstract

This research conducted with the aim to determine differences in the effectiveness of the model of Discovery Learning and Problem Solving of problem-solving ability mathematics students of class IV primary school. The type of the research is quasi-experimental with the use of test prerequisites that consist of normality test and homogeneity. In this study, prerequisite test was conducted to determine normality and homogeinity. From the T test using Independent Samples Test showed t count > t table with value 7,113 > 2,007 with significance 0,000 < 0,05 that means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Based on the results obtained there are differences in the effectiveness of significant. The results of the test N-Gain there is an increase after the treatment is given in the experimental class using the model of Discovery Learning by 0.40 and the control class there is an increase after a given model Problem Solving of 0.16. Based on these results, it showed that the model of Discovery Learning is more effective when compared with the Problem Solving model to increase problem solving ability in mathematics of students of class IV primary school.

Abstract

This research and development aims to develop and test the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of comic-based modules in mathematics in elementary schools. The research method used is R&D with the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely 1) analysis, 2) design, 3) development, 4) implementation and 5) evaluation ). Product validity was obtained from expert testing with expert validation instruments. The practicality of the product in the form of comic media was obtained through limited trials with a questionnaire instrument. The effectiveness is obtained through one class trial with one group pretest-posttest design then the results are tested using Paired SamplesvT Test. The result of this research is that the comic-based media module generally improves the ability to solve mathematical problems in the classroom material of five elementary school students. Learning media are declared valid based on the test of media experts, material experts and learning experts. Learning media are declared practical based on the results of the questionnaire responses of teachers and students. Learning media are declared effective based on the results of students' Paired SamplesvT Test pretest-posttest.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the effectiveness of the Problem Solving and Group Investigation learning models for the improvement of critical thinking in Mathematics IV grade elementary school students. The subjects of this study were SDN Dukuh 05 with 21 students as the experimental class I and SDN Dukuh 02 with 30 students as experiments II. This type of research uses quasi-experimental. Before doing the research, a prerequisite test was conducted. The prerequisite test in this study shows that both experimental classes are homogeneous and normally distributed. The Independent Sample Test t test shows t count> t table which is 3.970> 3.1824 and significant with 0,000 <0.05 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. For the N-Gain score analysis that there is an increase after applying the Problem Solving model of 0.47, while after applying the Group Investigation model it is 0.36. This shows that there is a significant difference in effectiveness. And it can be concluded that the Problem Solving learning model is more effective than the Group Investigation learning model for improving critical thinking skills of fourth grade students.
