Abstract

The objectives of the study were to assess, the perception of farmers on the program for demonstration area of healthy rice cultivation, examine the characteristics of the factors forming the perception of farmers participating in the program for demonstration area of healthy rice cultivation, analyze of the correlation between the factors forming perceptions farmers to demonstration healthy rice cultivation area program. The study used the method of descriptive by using survey techniques. The location was in Polokarto, Sukoharjo, taking 2 villages implementing the program. The population was the member farmers of the Pilangrejo farmer group and the Kenteng Farmer Group. The study used a proportional random sampling technique and respondents were taken as many as 60 farmers. The data in this study were presented with a Likert scale and to test the correlation used Spearman rank analysis and t-test. The results showed that, the factors forming perceptions were age, formal education, non-formal education, land area, income, experience, and motivation,  Farmers’ perceptions of the understanding, goals, benefits, and activities contained in the program demonstration area of healthy rice crop cultivation were good, There was a significant correlation between income and experience of farmers to the program demonstration area of healthy rice cultivation. Whereas age, formal education, non-formal education, land area, and motivation were not significantly related to farmers’ perceptions of the program for the cultivation of healthy rice.

Abstract

The goal of this research are to see the differences of time productive activity, proportion a/location, domestic and public society between men and women; the differences of access and control on resources between men and women; also the relationship between norm and time activity allocation on sesame farmer's access and control. Most ofthe men and women responden on the 45-54 age range. For the education level , male farmer was on higher level than women farmer. The norm on the sesame farmer society at Baki district sukoharjo Regency was patrialkal and egalitarian. Between male and women sesame farmer there are differences for the time activity allocation. Much more male sesame farmer spent the time for productive activity, whereas women spent the time for domestic activity. Women access on productive resources was lower than male, but for the control there is no differences. There is no differences on access and control on domestic and public society resources.

Abstract

The Basic of this research was women in agriculture and food production used of role on key position. Womens role on almost from all production process from preparation of seed, seedbad, planting, treatment, and harvest, include to participate into marketing of product. But the womens job in agriculture sector maked to not real. The objectives this research was to know of roles, access, controls and benefits for womens in land tenure. The basic method was descriptive. Location and respondent was purposive sampling. The data analysis with percentage analysis. cross tabulation and rates of values. The results of this research were shows that womens participation in decision making at land tenure is real. although mens participation were biggest. Womens participation in land tenure as like planting, cultivate, cutting of grass, drying of land, and els Alocation of time works that used for land tenure was bigger than seven hours of day. Womens also participation in second jobs at family although just small, depend of second jobs at household. Womens access on trainings to growing up of land was not there. Trainings was still just for mens or husbands. Womens participation in credits or capital was still there, that many of credits that advanced. Womens participation in sales productions and pricing of productions of household. The money from yield of harvest gave to all of husbands to their wifes, because husbands to hand over that financial household to their wifes. Control of husband at costs of household was still there. Profit from yield or h;1rvcst was not used by wife to private used of priority, but used for household as like to needs of days of household, costs of school for childrens, costs of social community. Womens was puts to benefits of profits from yields of harvest that put to fill of needs of household, although sometimes was not enough, womens that accept with sincere.

Abstract

The objectives of this research is to understanding poverty from the poorer live, so all of programs to eradicate poverty would consider all of aspects peasant life, social, culture, economy and ecology (holistic view). The background of this research are the failure poverty eradication programs because of uncomprehensive method. This research found there are many vurnerability context which faced by peasant, namely : fluctuation price of tobacco, impact of climate change and limited land (small land) and ecological degradation. In the case, there are five different types of capitals are the tobacco peasant families as disposal, namely : natural capital, physical capital, financial capital, human capital an social capital. The study found that there are many different type of mechanism to respon the vurnerability context, namely: accumulation strategy (large land), consolidation (medium land) and survival (small land). All these strategies (in normal and crisis situation) showed that peasant of this area very flexible mechanism to survive.

Abstract

On the purpose of increasing company progress, one thing need to be considered is the productivity of the company it self Musirawas Citraharpindo Inc. ( MCh Inc.), a commercial agricultural enterprise of palm oil, do an a/tempt to increase the company productivity, the attempt is by increasing the labours productivity, especially the labours whose significant role those are harvest labours who have responsibility in harvesting the products of palm oil. The aims of this research are to know the level of work productivity of palm oil harvest labour, know level of education, disiplin, motivation, wage,welfare program, work situation, leaders attitude that has been harvest labour and the relationship between  the factors related to work productivity with the work productivity of palm oil harvest labour in Musirawas Citraharpindo Inc, Central Kalimantan. The basic methode used in this research is descriptive by using case study technique. The location of the research is set in purpose (purposive) that is in Musirawas Citrarpindo Inc, Central Kalimantan, a commercial agricultural enterprise of palm oil, with the consideration that this company is the only commercial agricultural enterprise belongs lo indiginous individual ownership located in Sentyan District Central Kalimantan of wich every year can .fullfil the target of production established by the company owner. The samples are 50 harvest labours. To know the relationship between the factors related to work productivity with the work productivity of harvest labour the researcher uses Rank Spearman correlation (rs) with the program of SPSSJ0 for window, and lo examine the significance level of rs, the researcher uses I test with the value a = 0,05. The result of the research shows that the work productivity level of harvest labour in Musirawas Citraharpindo inc is include to high category. The test of rs correlation shows the existance of real relationship between welfare program, wage and work situation with work productivity. When: as education, disiplin, motivation an leaders a/litude have unreal relationship with work productivity of palm oil harvest lahour in !vlusirawas Citraharpindo Inc, Central Kalimantan.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (I). To know the diffution levels of the conservation technology, and (2). To know the role opinion leaders on the diffution process of dry land conservation technology. The methods of collecting the primary data has done with interview, with the sum of samples are 60 peoples. The data analysis used by the multiple linier regression analysis. The results of this research were (I). The diffution of the conservation, technology by farmers at high levels, and (2). The roles of opinion leader., which influence to diffution levels of the conservation technology are dissemination, linkage and mobilisators, ·and three of els independent variables were initiation, interest articulation, and overseer, were not influence to alffution levels of the conservation technology.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify internal and external factors and determine alternative strategies for improvement of communities’ adoption toga at crowded occupancy in Solo. Basic method of the research was descriptive qualitative. The technique of determining informants with the purposive sampling. The data was obtained through observation, deep interview, FGS, and document study. The research location was purposely determined by referring to active participation from communities in supporting the greening program in Solo, namely Serengan Urban Village. This urban village is quite active in supporting the greening program in Solo. The result showed that there were six strength and nine weaknesses as internal factors, seven opportunities and six threats as external factors. The result of IFE table showed that value of 3.058 meant strong and value in EFE of 2.915 meant medium. Based on the analysis of those two matrixes, it was found that the matrix result of IE was in category four, growing and building, so that in SWOT matrix, the researcher offered five strategies for improvement of urban farming TOGA adoption; (1) Improving experience and knowledge from communities to conduct urban farming TOGA, both in the cultivation and the utilization, 2) Improving communities’ awareness about the potential and opportunities of urban farming TOGA, 3) Improving communities’ ability to conduct the TOGA maintenance through assistance, 4) Improving communities’ knowledge and modal by building cooperation with other parties, 5) Encouraging farmers to build cooperation with government and other institutions for increasing experience in technology, maintenance, and sale.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors forming the motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations, to examine the level of motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations, to examine the relationship between motivational forming factors and the level of motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations. The research location is in Karimunjawa Sub-district with the consideration that sub-district is one of the sub-districts in the Jepara Regency which has the largest coconut plantation area and the largest yields. The sampling technique used is the Census Data analysis using Spearman rank. The results showed that the motivation-forming factors were age 37 to 43 years, elementary formal education, nonformal education (X1) in the rare category, a land area (X2) less than 0.5 ha, the majority of farmers' income (X3) is less than 2.000.000 IDR, cosmopolitan (X4) 1 to 2 times, the role of extension workers (X5) in the category of quite a role, family support (X6) in the supporting category, the role of community leaders (X7) in the role category and price assurance (X8) in the easy category. The level of motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations (Y) includes existence motivation (Y1) in the want category, relatedness motivation (Y2) in the unwilling category and growth motivation (Y3) in the less wanted category. There is no significant relationship between X1, X2, X4, X5, X6, X7 and X8 on the Y variable, while only X3 has a significant relationship to the Y variable.
